Amazing, Tyler and the Staff -I purchased a cake from Sam's Club@ Chesapeake they Mess up My Pastors 17 year Anniversary Cake its Saturday after 2pm and I needed the cake tomorrow Sunday. When I tell you the Satff at Wine & Cakes Hobbies. They were so HELPFUL and I am so Grateful for them they turned that Cake from Trash to GRAND A Cake for A King. Yes , they did a MAGNIFICENT Job helping me get the great from nothing to AMAZING. The staff at Wine & Cake Hobbies are Top Notch, Unmatched and Customer Service 1000%. Thank you to Annabelle's Wine & Cake Hobbies staff! Special thanks to Chris, Tyler, and Evan. I was able to transform a BJ's sheet cake into... THIS!!! Last weekend by best friends cake order was canceled due to an absent cake decorator (that's another story ) Thank God my mom, who's the best cake decorator on this side of the Mississippi, thought of her favorite cake decor spot, Annabelle's. We got there at 3:40, they close at 4:00 and they shut off the picture editing at 3:15, but when Chris heard our sob story, they helped us out!! I always drive pass this store for years and I made it a point to check it out. It's an older building and when you walk in, it can be a bit overwhelming. There's so much stuff in the store. You can find everything for your baking, candy, dessert needs. There's cake boxes of different sizes and shapes. All types of candies and chocolates. Just everything! The only thing is, it's hard to know where items are since there's no "signs" and it's easy to miss what you are looking for. Also the pricing of items are not easily displayed so I had a few surprises at the register LOL The customer service is great and the ladies are really helpful. They used to do in person candy and cake classes but they said starting in 2021, it will be virtual. I may check out it as it sounds fun! read more

Fun fun fun!!! How come I didn't know this amazing shop past two years here in VA, I'm wondering... They have so many things for hobbies and fun parties. This place is so cool, I can't believe I just found out about it! We actually went there because it was recommended to us for decorations for a party my roommate and I were throwing. This place is HUGE, I couldn't believe how many rooms there were for difference party occasions. There are tons of decorations for cakes, any kind of sugar decoration you'd ever want, there is a catering room, a wedding room, a room with wine and beer making supplies, the list goes on and on. I definitely want to go back when I have more time because we were there right before closing, but I swear I feel like I could spend 2 hours looking around this place. The staff was very nice here, they helped us find everything we needed and the woman who rang me up at the end even let me slide with a debit card transaction under $5. Cool little shop. It's like a Hobby Lobby but for all cake and baking related things. I came here with my boyfriend because he had to pick up some clear, plastic containers for his products. It's an older shop, but they have lots of cool things inside. I've never seen so many cake toppings and decorations in my life. Now I know where to go if I ever need any cute things to put on top of cupcakes. I just wish it wasn't so far and in the cut. The area is a little sketchy. I definitely wouldn't go at night time. Or alone. The prices seem decent too! There's a section for cookware, decorating, & crafting. I didn't even get to explore the whole store. Cool spot though. This place is a fantasy wonderland of cake decorating stuffs. Groupon had a special running on this place and I ordered it immediately. I'm glad I did. This place is awesome. They have everything you could ever need. Though I used to buy my cake boards in packages they seem to only sell theirs in singles. I'm sure they have packages you can purchase though. Its a little dated inside. Ok... it's downright old but they have some excellent deals. If you don't feel like shopping online for your cake supplies, definitely head over to Wine & Cake Hobbies. They'll probably have whatever you're looking for. Also .. I found their pricing to be really good. I'd definitely go back if I need some more luster dusts or melts or cupcake liners or super red americolor food gel. read more

Wine & Cake is a one of a kind place. Whenever I'm in need for anything baking/candy making related, I don't know of anywhere (except the internet of course) that even comes close. I feel like such a girl (sorry if that comes off super sexist) when I'm there because I just love seeing what I can make next - hundreds of cookie cutters, candy molds, pans, dessert boxes. They have all the materials you're going to need to get started or accent your growing collection of cauldron's and other brewing equipment. The staff is knowledgeable and very helpful. I could spend hours in this store. Practically anything a cake decorator, party planner, beer brewer, etc could want. One section of the store is devoted to candy making, cake decorating/baking, beer brewing - and the other is full of party decorations (table covers, streamers) and paper party products. I often make cupcakes for baby showers and always stop in here for baking cups, sanding sugar, decorations and of course their butter cream icing - the best icing I've ever had. read more

Love this place! You can literally find anything you need to make any desert you wish! As well home brewing accessories & party supplies. They have such a huge selection it's a bit of a wonderland for any bakers or event planners. If I'm making a special desert or cake I head straight there before going anywhere else. They also have a very extensive website where you can purchase almost anything they sell. The staff has always been nice and knowledgeable. They also hold a host of classes throughout the year. What a great store! I recently got into home brewing, and assumed I'd have to rely on the Internet for my supplies. Turns out, they have absolutely everything I could want for brewing. I wanted to make root beer from scratch for the kids, and they had all the natural ingredients. They have ingredients and supplies for making Wine, mead, beer, sake- you name it. They're not to far past the HRBT if you're coming from the Peninsula, so the drive isn't bad either. read more

I like this store because of the people, I have yet to meet a rude person, they are all eager to help and give advice/opinions on personal projects. However, the store policy is what made me no longer shop at this store. I sent my sister to the store to purchase gel color she got the wrong thing, the policy is you can't return edible items, gel color is considered edible, so I was stuck with 23.00 dollars worth of something I do not need or want. I was really irritated and decided from now on I will go to a store that does not have such a policy, such a policy is bad for business, not even online cake hobby stores have this policy. read more

This place seemed to have everything I needed for my decorated sugar cookies I make. They also seem to have a pretty good cookie cutter selection. The only thing that keeps it from being 5 stars for me is the customer service. Don't get me wrong, they answered every question I had but they kind of seemed on the unfriendly side a little.
