I have been having a lot of trouble with "tired feet and tired legs" after my job where I stand all day. I went into Beck's on the advice of a fellow employee. I was greeted by a very friendly and kind gent by the name of Logan. He listened to my concerns, had me stand on the scanner, and made recommendations for inserts for my shoes and also for some other shoes they had as well. I tried the inserts in two different pairs of shoes he had, and they both felt "pretty good," but the shoes width were only 4E. My shoes are 6E because of a very wide foot. He did not have any 6E sizes at all - 4E is the biggest they have for any shoe. He could have given me tho ol' song and dance, "Oh, the 4E should be fine; they'll stretch out a little to fit your foot" in order to make the sale. However, in a remarkable display of true customer service and genuinely wanting what's best for his customers, he basically said he didn't feel comfortable selling me shoes that really weren't the exact correct fit. So, even after all the time he spent having me try on the new shoes with and without the inserts, he was happy to recommend the inserts only. I felt a little bad about wasting his time, but he made it clear he truly wanted my feet to be served to his best. I bought two pair of the inserts, and I wore one pair in MY shoes at work the next day - 8 hours on my feet. I'm very happy to say my feet and legs felt much better at the end of the day. they were still a little tired, but I'd say they were 80-90% better than before the inserts. It was a win-win experience for me. I got the inserts which helped tremendously, but even better, through Logan's genuine kindness and concern "for what's best," I found someone who still believes in customer service. I was so impressed that when I told my wife about my experience, she went to Beck's the very next day and - thanks to Logan - came home with some inserts of her own. She's been having a different kind of issue with her feet, but her new inserts seemed to help quite a bit too. Logan was training a new employee the day I came in - Stacie - and he was very thorough in explaining everything he did for me to her. She was very kind and patient as well. I'm sure if he's her mentor for a few days, she'll by a top notch ambassador for Beck's - just as Logan is a real ambasador for his company. read more

Yesterday I had amazing service from Marie and she helped me find just the right size birkenstock sandals for my feet. They had the shoe I wanted in stock, and I was able to find the correct fit with Marie's help and adjustments. My husband and I also did the feet test which showed where the pressure is placed on our feet as we stand, and then she recommended insoles to correct our stance. Unfortunately when I went, there were two clerks and at least six customers. I grabbed three pair, I was interested in trying on. If they want to serve people with their special foot reading machine they need more one on one service. The one guy seemed like he was trying to help everyone while his coworker helped one person then seemed to disappear. I did not appreciate the man pushing the more expensive pair on me. I grabbed three different shoes and he only got me the $325 pair to try on. Then he only talked to me about that brand. He went on to another customer and I left. I purchased my work shoes at a competitor on Plumb. I left because I could feel I was not getting the service I wanted. I get it being busy was out of his control but pushing the expensive shoes on me was what made me leave. I wanted to compare the three shoes. Ok... Update... I was in the Bay Area in May this year and I knew that I was in need of a new pair of NB.. I googled Becks and it directed me to the one in Sunnyvale. Iwhen my gather in law and I had arrived their were a couple of people in the store but nothing crazy... I was a immediately a little disappointed because I was welcomed or greeted or anything.... Finally after about 15 or 20 min.. I was asked if we needed help... When I said yes I need a pair of shoes.. I was priority #1 at that point.. And was given a guy immediately.. I was then told I needed a different shoe than I was wearing one with more flexibility..??? I actually really enjoyed the last shoe I was in?.. He put me in a new (slimmer) shoe w/ less footprint .. And SHOVED a pair of WIDE insoles in them..(literally they were wider than the shoes tred). Initially the shoe felt ok.. But after the 20th time of wearing them... It felt horrible.... And I mean.. My foot was pushing out the sides.. He rushed through everything to the point where my father in-law didn't even feel like staying and getting himself a pair their...sorry Your bad guys! Get some better customer service oriented people :-)...... So this past weekend my wife and I were shopping in Reno and she constantly reminds me how bad her feet feel... So we went into my favorite shoe store in RENO... We were greeted promptly and jim (the manager) appeared to be doing clerical work and immediately stopped what he was doing and engaged with my wife.... She told Jim her concerns and he had her in a new pair of NB within 10 min. My wife was ECSTATIC!... I then explained to him the issues I was having with the shoes I bought in May.. He told me to bring them in on Sunday and he would see what he could do... Well unfortunately I was unable to make it Sunday and instead I came in today.. And guess who was their??.MR. MATT BECK!... The same guy that made me a customer for life last year......I explained my situation he thoroughly apologized for the way I was treated and assured me that is not the way ANY Becks shoe store should operate... He looked at my insoles and just again started apologizing and then looked at my shoes and again the apologies were just non stop at this point... WRONG SHOE FOR MY APPLICATION, WRONG INSOLE FOR THE SHOE, and an extremely POR trim job to the insole for proper fit... And the shoe that was sold to me was obviously TOO slender for my foot and 1 full size to big.... Matt was extremely helpful again.. Fitting me getting the shoe that best fit my foot.. And my application.. And only asked that I pay the difference between the 2 shoes... REALLY?? It was that easy??.... I SAY THIS AGAIN!! If haven't had the pleasure if meeting MR. MATT BECK put it in your list..go experience what this guy does for his customers... GO BUY 1 PAIR OF SHOES FROM HIM YOU WILL BE HOOKED!.... . He is exceptional!.. I have a 13 long, wide and Becks has always been happy to accommodate me. There has been a few occasions where my shoe selection was not in store, but that has never been an issue for the sales team at Becks. It was my yearly check up today. I came into Beck's Shoes for some Birkenstocks. I was sure I knew how to size myself and buy the right pair. JT looked at my foot in the size sandal I had asked to try on and analyzed it. He explained to me why that wasn't the right size and I ended up needing two sizes up! He adjusted the straps and stayed after the closing hour to punch new holes in my straps that I would need for the right fit and trimmed down the excess material. We were greeted by a nice gentleman by the name by the name of JT or TJ. (I remember asking, but can remember exactly which one it is.) I assume that this store gets lots of people from the company because he knew exactly what the company requirements were. He measured my husband's feet before starting to try on boots. After finding the pair my husband liked I inquired about products to make my leather boots less sad looking. The salesman gave me a demo of the Leather Dressing they sell and I was instantly sold on the product. (I highly recommend the Leather Dressing! It brought my leather boots back to life!) Giving one star review for the inconvenience of a Christmas gift return and the inability of the store to recognize and remedy a STUPID RETURN POLICY. My son drove over an hour to the store and was not able to return the $200 shoes that were purchased two weeks ago despite having the receipt. They wouldn't accept the return but he didn't have the credit card that was used to purchase them! Why and when would a gift recipient have the credit card that was used to purchase the gift? Unfortunately, the store became crowded after I tried on a pair of shoes and the salesman stopped helping me and continued to handle 3 new purchases 3 returns and answer questions for 2 other customers.
