We hired Becker Mover to help move things out of a storage until and into our new house. Wow this turned out to be a great experiences. They moved everything very efficiently and most importantly - safely. It was almost like watching a feats of strength. They came with just two movers inside the truck. One was a bigger guy - probably about 5'11' and 260 pounds. The other guy kind of looked like a Joe Dirt type character. I was worried how he would be able to move things but he was deceptively strong and knew how to move bigger pieces. The other guy basically pressed a top loader washing machine over his head from the truck to the house. It was like he was the Ultimate Warrior or something. I was the fool...I trusted this mover and their "people". I should have realized that something was very wrong when things went downhill as soon as I signed the contract. I was treated awful from start to finish with moving dates in limbo, boxes stolen before my eyes and items damaged and broken and needing replacement such as my printer. The worst part is, that I tipped the driver/mover and the second mover (that didn't show up at the final destination) not realizing the carnage that was taking place. As I go along, I realize how much they stole from me, and I certainly hope that the next person doesn't ever hire this company. The lead company of theirs, Wheaton, made some financial amends to my move for "lost" and damages, but the amount of money will never replace what I no longer have in my possession as a result of them stealing my belongings. Sorry that I trusted like I did because in my other and several moves, I never had any problems with any other mover in my life. This company was a nightmare. Items damaged. Things missing. The workers were slow, resulting in high charges. The manager did not return any phone calls, and I tried many, many times to reach him. Becker moved us in May and stored our entire contents until this last Thanksgiving move into our new townhouse. The damage done to almost everything ranged from crushed boxes, scratches and dents to furniture, filthy mattress (even after we provided covers they never used), completed damaging our new loveseat and living room couch. Wish I had not trusted that the boys were as good as their Dad 26 years ago. Coupled with the fact they neglected to offer us full liability insurance coverage, claiming in small claims court we refused it. Who in their right mind would not want full insurance coverage. Anyone moving in New York State always asked about the New York State mandated pamphlet that movers are suppose to give and explain to their clients if the mover doesn't automatically give full insurance liability. We sadly didn't get that explanation or pamphlet so consequently our over $7000 in damage amounted to a reduced liability check for $270. Becker Movers did an outstanding job on my recent move. I have used them many times over the past 30 years and they have always done an outstanding job. The young men (Miguel and his cousin)who moved us were courteous, professional, hard working and very accommodating and pleasant. This move involved moving some heavy furniture to an attic space and they did this effortlessly. there was over an hour travel time to get to the house I was. moving out of and hour's travel to my destination. my name is terri my wife and i hired becker to move us in january 2025. we had half a storage unit that was neatly packed in boxes that were clearly labeled for content and that they were fragile and to handle with care. we also had a 2 bdrm house that was to be moved as well. we are not rich people, nor are we fancy by any stretch of the word, but we did not deserve to be treated with such disdain or with a total lack of regard for our belongings! not only did they just start throwing things around but they also stole from us! i had a genesee bear bottle that was made of plastic about 3 feet in height for coins that once belonged to my mother and it had close to $300 in various coins and paper bills, which they decided to keep for themselves! thats right not only did they damage my property but the stole from us as well! we tried reaching out to them to get our property and money back,but to this day they have not returned a single call! what the f n hell is wrong with you people! we trusted you! read more

This is the worst move i have ever witnessed. The move was for a one bedroom apartment with a small storage area. Two men arrived to do the move and immediately said OMG there is a lot of stuff here. They said they attempted to contact their boss for additional help, but was told that they were all too busy and there was noone to help. They did the move, but they never used any kind of dolly to move anything. It took they over 3 hours to load the truck with the stuff that was there and then they got lost on way to new address, which was given to them several times. Once there they complained and moaned about every little thing that had to go some where. They then told us that they broke the leg on the TV, and that never happens, but it happened this time. They tore the mattress cover bringing the mattress cover in and when they finally put the mattress down, is was one big clump. They damaged the mattress moving and never said anything. they also broke the hinge on the front doing moving things in. If you ever need movers, please do not use Becker, because you will get a terrible experience and who knows what may get damaged. read more

I have used becker 3 times now the first two times were outstanding guys very friendly moved very fast and the price was reasonable. this past week we moved three man crew needing only one trip . the guys moved slow and didn't even take all items . very rude and we're yelling at me when I questioned the time and price . one load in a 7 mile radius cost us over 700.00 where before I was always under 420 I will never use them again . yelling at customers and taking advantage of the clock . on top of it all several glass items broken when they tossed boxes in my garage read more

Such a poor experience with this company. Weight estimate was off by 30%. The manager talks a good game, but our belongings were all damaged from poor packing. The people in charge aren't forthcoming with costs (quote one thing and then hold your belongings ransom with much higher charges) and Ron (who we never had any direct contact with) added on a bunch of mystery charges after the fact that weren't on our quote. Some of my stuff went missing. I've called and spoken to a manager twice, both times I was told I would receive a call back in the morning. It's been a week since the first call. I was very polite, and non confrontational and they couldn't be bothered to follow through. Don't use this company. Once they get your money they don't care. This company is literally the worst moving company I have ever come across. The movers that showed up were completely reckless, untrained and had no respect for my belongings. We had them move a 1 bedroom wood set and a washer and dryer and a TV. They did not cover up ANYTHING at all! all of our bedroom furniture had dents scratches and pices broken off. Our washer and dryer were both scratched and dented up. I called and spoke to the owner he was extremely arragent and said we could have a full refund rather or not he actually follows through on this is another question? Even if we were to get the refund the amount of damage caused by the recklessness and irresponsible movers will not even come close to cover the costs of all of the damage they caused. The owner said he has so much business that he did not even care if he lost our money to a refund but did not mention how he was gonna fix all of the damage his men caused he also said that he encouraged me to write a negative review on Google because in his exact words were "I don't care what people say about my company i am gonna make money regardless" pretty shitty statement coming from the owner of the company so if he dose not even care about his own company what makes anyone thinks he would care about your belongings. There is so much damage I am thinking this might have to go to court to actually get this arranged asshole to take sometype of ownership of his company and the crappy people he employed! Turned my mattress into a sack of laundry moving it (ripping the stitches from pillowtop up so layers below all folded over themselves and internal structure gone). Manager "Brett" came to assess the damage and ACTUALLY said "oh, all mattresses do that, they go back to normal in a day or so" and THEN ACTUALLY tried to make me believe that the stitches previously sewn down through the pillowtop "reattach themselves". Yah!! He really thought I was going to believe that the mattrsss would "re-stitch itself" - like I'm some sort of f*ing idiot!! So now I've spent the last two and a half weeks attempting to get ahold of Ron - the guy who handles claims to call me back, while Karen - the secretary hangs up on you when you keep asking when Ron will finally be in the office. I have recorded EVERYTHING with them (in person, phone calls). Will update this if I end up having to take them to court! read more

Used Becker's for my apartment move. Efficient, kind, and so worth it. Both men asked me where I wanted my furniture and handled all items with care. They even taped up a box more that had fragile items inside. No hourly minimum either. I'm glad I used a moving company, and I'm glad it was Becker. read more

The movers never bothered to show up and when I called the office I was treated very poorly.. Not once but twice. When I inquired why they didn't show up they nonchalantly told me they were still busy with the other job they were on and their phones didn't work. The second time I called I spoke to another person and commented about how rude the first person I talked to was, instead of an apology I got "no he wasn't I'm sitting right here". I politely canceled my services and let them know had they just communicated that they would be late they would still have my business. Though the customer service over the phone was way better than a couple other local companies the mover's destroyed so many things, were not professional and didn't use moving straps when moving appliances and though the damage was over $1000.00 I was only compensated $102.00. $3.00 for a fan, I mean where do you get an oscillating fan for that cheap? (Mind you I told the movers not to move it yet they still did.) I had 4 guys move my stuff and paid over $900.00 for the move plus tip, seriously worst money I have ever spent!!! Nightmare! One of the guys kept eyeing up all of the things I was leaving behind asking what he could take for himself. I had cash hidden in a room they didn't need to enter at the new residence that I was going to give them for a tip. Was there 5 minutes before they entered the house but gone when I went to get it. Huge scratch on my dining room table. Never set up my sofas or brought one of the sofas upstairs as I had asked. Took a bench from the pile of things I was throwing away at the old house for themselves but left it at my new house so now I am stuck needing to find a way to move that. Called the owner to complain, but he said those were his best guys. No apologies. No assistance offered for any of this mess. If those are his best guys there's a real problem. Wow. So disappointing. My husband called to move our bed and couch out of a corporate apartment to a house we moved into in Park Ave area - specifically told them that our king bed would need to be brought over balcony as we were just relocated here and the movers my company used for our relocation were forced to do it with our other beds due to narrow staircase. My husband called to confirm the specifics the day before ( movers would wrap mattress etc) for the move over balcony and was assured that it was no problem. Movers arrived and my husband was told they couldn't move the bed over a balcony as promised - he called the company, and Ron the manager was incredibly rude and unprofessional. We were left with no movers, a move out date that is quickly approaching and a very bad taste in our mouths toward Becker Moving. Good news travels fast, bad news even faster. read more

For the past 12 years Becker Movers have been the only Movers we call, whether it is moving from one house to another or just moving rooms of furniture in our house. When calling to schedule the date, the office staff is pleasant. The day before the scheduled date, you receive a call stating what timeframe they will be there. They have always been on time. The Movers are always courteous, professional and very careful not to damage your things or the surroundings. It always amazes me how quick and efficient they are. None of the Movers smell like smoke nor are they allowed to smoke in their truck or on your property. We would highly recommend Becker Movers. read more

We just did a combination move with Becker, some stuff was long distance to NC and some stuff to storage in Rochester. Booths sets of movers were great and everything came together. The local movers were very accommodating getting our belongings into a small storage area. Calvin, our long distance driver from Wheaton, was very good on communicating arrived in NC about an hour after we did and was finished in a couple of hours. To give this company a one star rating is more than they deserve. The employees weren't super friendly, in fact they seemed pretty distant. The didn't know how to fallow directions because at least half of our boxes didn't end up in the rooms they were supposed to be left in even though the boxes and the rooms had been properly labeled. They broke 2 bookshelves, dented our hardwood floor in the kitchen and to top it all off they stole around $600 worth of videogame systems and accessories from us. As any normal person would do we reported the theft to the police. After speaking with either the owner or the manager (I cant remember which one it was) they were very rude when they heard we had contacted the police, refused to cooperate with us in any way and also refused to even check the truck that was used to move our stuff. I would never use this company or recommend them to anyone. They were paid hundreds of dollars, damaged our property and stole from us. RUN AWAY!!!! In the past (years ago) my family has hired them numerous times and they have been great. This time I hired them to move me into my first house because I am handicapped and cannot do the job myself. First they complained that I wanted them to put the boxes in the rooms they were labeled for and said it would cost extra because it would take longer. I said that's fine, I understand. They weren't in the right rooms even though the boxes and rooms were labeled. The one man was commenting on my breasts in front of my family and I was asked "where'd your man go?" I gave a dirty look and let it slide. After getting to my new house they backed the truck up too far and broke the branches off of my tree! I told them to stop but the man behind the van shook his head and waved me away like I was a bother. They broke two pieces of furniture (particleboard, not expensive but still cost over $100 to replace), They put TWO HOLES in my hardwood floors dropping something in the kitchen, and they walked off with TWO GAMING SYSTEMS! I had seen them in their hands going to the truck. After I realized they were not in my house, or the old house I called the police to file a report because Becker was closed until Monday, this was a Saturday afternoon. I called Monday to follow up with the manager or owner,he never gave me a name or title, to see if it was left on the truck hidden behind blankets or something and he told me "You called the police so frankly I'm not willing to work with you. We didn't check the truck and it was sent for another move." I paid almost $400 plus a $60 tip and they STOLE from me! I found out later that I'm not the only one who's had these problems. I think giving them a 1 star rating is beyond generous but that's as low as it will let me go. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! I used them before moving from one house to another with no problems. BUT-in November our house sold quickly and the people wanted in within 3 wks. We packed up the house hired Beckers to move us and store our belonging. Then in April we moved into our home. I am very fussy about my home and belongings. Beckers told they wrap everything. NO TRUE. I had one of bookcases comeback with mud all over it. My loveseat had dry wall all over it. I had missing hardware on beds, ( my husband put all hardware in a baggie and taped it all together, but when it got delivered they were all separated). They broke 3 floor lamps, chipped my new bedroom set, damaged every piece on my 5 piece Oak Entertainment Center along with breaking off the rollers from the bottom of the pieces, put a hole in my folding table, they STOLE my Wii & games/Xbox One & games, I have missing decorations and pictures, put holes in my leather couch and furniture, missing hardware/legs/back of pinball machine, on and on. I had to pay out of my pocket so far $650 for the pinball machine, $108 for the floor, $432 for the leather couch, and $81 to repair chips to my bedroom furniture. They just sent me a check for $435!!! They told me to put a claim in on my homeowners. REALLY!!!!!!! These people are scammers. I just got off the phone with one of the owners, Ron and basically it's not his problem. WHAT EVER YOU DO, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! read more

Our possessions were moved by Becker Movers into their storage facility on Oct, 24, 2012. The first problem was that they arrived anticipating that we were doing the packing and they had no packing materials. We had contracted for them to do the packing so three hours later the owner arrived with the necessary materials. In the meantime they had moved furniture in the rain with no effort to keep things dry. The supervisor of the job was obviously very annoyed with the whole situation and was sullen all day. Two young men with him were quite pleasant. It was a long day and another truck arrived to help. I observed them just throwing my things into the truck. They were all in a rush and took no care of our things. Our possessions were in storage for four months and when they came to us in our new home (Feb. 15, 2013) we had a number of broken china pieces and other items which are antiques, we are missing are a number of silver trays, and at least three family heirlooms which are over 100 years old. There were several other items that were damaged and will need repair. As a result of these people taking, losing or whatever, a number of our valuables which meant a great deal to us, our children and grandchildren will not receive these things which would rightly go to them in the future. My grand daughters are devastated that an item they loved has disappeared. Since the owner of the business says he cannot at this time find any of our missing things we can only conclude that the movers stole them and by this tine have sold them off. As of today we are waiting to see what Becker Movers can do to rectify this situation. I hope to meet with the men who moved us to tell them exactly what they have done to our family in the loss of many items dear to us. It will probably be some time before there is any resolution or monetary decision. I would not recommend this company to anyone but if they have to use them be sure to itemize EVERYTHING they take from your residence. This was my error. I trusted them and believed them when they said they would treat our things with care and consideration. I truly believe that the "lost" items were stolen by someone connected with Becker Movers, especially since, to date, the owner says he cannot locate them. read more

Becker Movers - still in business? Unbelievable. This company came recommended by a couple of people that had previously used them and had good things to say about them. My, how times change. My service, or lack of it is at the complete opposite end of the spectrum. One of the brother's that own the company came over and we showed him what needed to be moved and what was left to be packed. He told us he would have an estimate to us the next morning, could have people and a truck there on Monday the following week. This was on Tuesday. Come Wednesday, no call to give us a price and finalize the move details. My wife attempted to call the office and customer service, if you want to call it that, was terrible if there was any. No return call ever occurred and here it is Monday. If they didn't want to do the job, fine, call and let us know. We did call the owner out on one of the reviews that basically stated the same thing and he told us that he knew who it was, a disgruntled ex-employee. These guys are the worst. I had 7 pods in storage. They were to wait for my address & then move all my things from NY to HI. A week after I left (I still had no address), they sent all my stuff to NY City & were about to put it on a train to CA., then a ship to HI - all with no address in HI. I stopped that action, but they not only forced me to pay several thousand dollars for THAT unauthorized move, the shipment was missing an entire pod of my belongings & they never noticed. When I decided to move everything to a local address in NY, I noticed the missing pod - which they took no responsibility for. They smashed my 6' projection TV (that I had been paying $120. a month for for 2 years), admitted it, but wouldn't pay for it. They never showed it to me - they said they threw it out. They grudgingly gave me $750. (after months of badgering them) for over $10,000. worth of things. They are unprofessional & the owner is a rude, nasty jerk. DON'T GO HERE!!!!!!!! I wish you had a category for less stars. They are in the minus category in everything from doing their job to handling customer problems. We recently used Becker Movers to move our furniture to our new home. It was a mistake we will never make again and hope that in sharing our experience we can prevent the same thing from happening to as many people as possible. It took 2 1/2 months but we finally received a check to cover the damages their employees did. We received .30 cents a pound for each of the damaged items, I believe that is the minimum amount that they are required to pay in NY state. Which pretty much sums up the way you and your household goods will be treated if you contract with Becker Movers. They don't seem to be concerned about providing quality service, their reputation, customer opinion or any of the characteristics you'd hope to find in a company you are trusting all of your belongings to. If you look at all of the complaints filed against Becker Movers with the BBB the response is pretty much always the same - they settled with the customers according to the contract that was signed. Well according to the contract you will have to try to replace or clean a queen sized mattress set that the movers spilled a red energy drink on for .30 cents a pound or $45, replace or fix a $1000 tiled outdoor table that arrived with tiles missing for $60, there were scratches and dents in dressers, headboards, the dining room table and they did more damage in 3 hours to our homes hardwood floors than apparently had been done in the 100 years the house has been standing (which they wouldn't address at all). It wasn't just one item it was overall incompetence - now we can either choose to pay over $3000 out of pocket to fix and/or replace the belongings or live with them damaged. We have shared our frustration with the quality of service we received from Becker Movers with family, friends, coworkers, etc. and found that not one person that had used Becker Movers would use them again. Our advice to you is that If you do choose to use Becker Movers, take out as much extra insurance as possible, you will need it! read more

Never again! I would not recommend Becker Movers to anyone! I used them at the end of October. I was quoted $2360-$2832 Probable Cost of services . One of the owners came to my previous home ahead of time. I showed him what was going to be moved, storage closets etc. I also showed some tools such as a drill press, table saw etc. but I sold some ahead of time and left most of the rest behind. After the move I was charged $3613. I called about 9 days after the move and talked to the man in charge of the move and he said well after 2 weeks thanks for the input. He did say he would talk to the owner about the jump in price and have him call me back. The owner did not call back after 4 days so I called him and left a message with the receptionist and still did not hear anything to this day. They would not let me write on the moving document about responsibility to them for breakage or damage. I did have my things packed very well but still had MANY things broken.
