Scott business ethics went to shit. New AC unit for a standard 2,000 ft house. from 2016-2023 issues all the time. And in 2023 says the unit is too small and I begged for him to install a unit that won't work. For 6 yrs prior would always recommended him to EVERYONE in Sparta. HE SUCKS. go elsewhere!! read more

Scott at Beck Brothers is the best in New Jersey in our book. He installed a heat pump system in our house that reduced our oil consumption from 3 1/2 tanks a year to one tank for the entire winter. He recommended a thermostat that tracked the out side temperature at our home as opposed to what the Internet says the temp should be. Made all the difference in the world. Recently, he found an issue with our 20-year-old, oil-burner furnace. Because he went the extra mile, he discovered we had a 99-year warranty on the heat exchanger (A Trane Company part). If your looking for a piss poor attitude and NEW 3.5 ton condenser/handler unit that is clearly undersized for your 2000 sq foot house, then this company is for you!! Had issues from day 1 with the new unit and every year afterwards for 6 years. Unit constantly short cycling 50 times a day on hot days. Then I'm told, "the 3.5 ton unit is too small and you need a bigger 5 ton unit to fix the problem, I gave you two quotes you should've picked the bigger one". Ok..... so he installed the same sized smaller unit knowing full well it wasn't gonna work properly....and yup you guessed it, my fault. After recommending this company to plenty of sparta residence for propane/gas conversions (you all know who you are)..... Find someone else. At least you will get the right sized unit. read more

Took check for $101.29 stating HVAC had been serviced and working properly on 30-Oct-2019. Has failed to respond to my multiple phone calls or email. Submitted complaint to BBB. Home inspection report: "Gas burners are short cycling - furnace will run for a few minutes then shut off - may indicate a problem with the flame roll out switch - have further evaluated by an HVAC technician and repair as necessary for proper operation. Noise noted during inducer fan operation - have further evaluated by an HVAC technician and repair as necessary." HVAC was not repaired. read more

I hired Beck Brothers to replace my very old oil furnace with a new gas furnace and to install central air in my home. This company gave me the best quote around--it was a no brainer to hire them for the job. Very friendly, very competent, and very efficient. Scott and his team are very professional and clean. They are right in the neighborhood, so if you need them to make a quick house call, they are right there. Even the plumbing inspector stated that they always do good work. Other companies were not able to come up with reasonable solutions as to how to plumb the gas line into my home and wanted to charge me 3X what Beck Bros. charged me for this job. Very reasonable pricing. Prompt service. Our boiler is too old to get a service contract with my oil company so I turned to some local companies for regular servicing. I had heating issues which I tracked down to air in the base boards. Scott came out for a service call and was able to flush the pipes and gave me the run down on how I could do it myself should the problem reappear. I love hiring local small town type of businesses but that doesn't always work out. The first time I tried Beck bros my boiler was making a whining noise but was working just fine and knew it was the oil pump, Scott came in took it apart and couldn't get it running again and didn't have a replacement on the truck or in the shop! The most popular oil pump on the most popular residential oil burner in the USA, so we spent one of the coldest nights without heat. Came back the NEXT DAY and replaced it. Something has happened to this Mom/Pop business!! I have used them for cleanings the past couple of years and they were very good. We had a recent problem where our furnace stopped working and I called Beck for a service call. The abbreviated story is that after many phone calls to the wife(Scott, the owner will not give his cell phone and the wife rarely answers the business phone), I finally heard from the wife that Scott could not figure out how to open my unlocked gate(??) !! However since we were not at home( left door unlocked for him), wife would not connect me with Scott to tell him how to open gate, so he left!! I called and left 3 more messages for wife to resechule the service call. She NEVER called back, and does not answer my phone calls. I gave their name out to at least 4 families when they were a responsible company. Have called all 4 to tell them what happened, and all 4 are dropping them. DO NOT USE THEM!!! read more
