The three installation guys (Michael, Jamie and Darrell) were great! They cleaned the work area and left and everything nicer than it was before the work began. I was really impressed with the quality of their work and the professionalism of the guys installing the system (and they are very likeable personable guys too!) I had 3 other quotes from other companies. Like one review here said, H&I weren't the lowest quote and they weren't the highest quote I received, they were right about in the middle. In the end, I went with them because: 1. I already do business with them for my oil delivery so I already know they are super nice and helpful. 2. They didn't have a pushy salesman that pushed me to close the deal the same day as the quote like another company I had give me a quote did. 3. They were honest (at least I believe they were haha). There was another sales guy from another company that told me BS and I knew it was BS when he told me because in my research I found things that contradicted what he told me (and other techs I spoke to said he was incorrect.). I felt like all the other companies wanted was to close the deal. 4. Whitney and Wyane were there to answer all my questions and believe me, I had a lot. Whitney was extremely responsive to every one of my emails. 5. Overall I just felt more confident in them than the other companies that came to give me a quote. I felt the other companies with salesmen just wanted to close the deal and would tell you whatever just to close it. 6. I liked when they gave me a quote it was one of their techs that took all the information, again, not a salesman. I never felt any pressure with them as I felt with other companies that gave me a quote. 7. They are just really nice to deal with. Overall I am extremely happy we decided to go with Hart and Iliff over the other companies! The AC part of the system has been working great! It's a great improvement over my old AC. After waiting several hours without any communication, I followed up and was asked to reschedule for the following Monday between 10 AM-2 PM. I agreed, assuming delays were due to a busy schedule. On Monday, I again waited without receiving a call or visit. At 2:15 PM, I contacted dispatch and was told a technician would reach out shortly. As of the following day, I had still not received any communication or service. This experience involved two missed appointments and required multiple schedule adjustments on my end. Based on this, I DO NOT recommend this company for any services.

I contacted Urban Mechanical via Yelp to see if I could get a technician to do a maintenance check…read moreon my central air A/C. It has been five years since any technician looked at it. While it is currently running (knock on wood), a guest recently remarked that the filter on my external fan unit looked dirty and that you're supposed to get annual maintenance on these units. As part of the Yelp message process, I left my contact information and provided two photos. Eventually, Urban Mechanical sent a message via Yelp to contact them via phone. I called by phone and spoke to the owner, Hector. He looked at my Yelp information and confirmed my request. He then told me that he had a 4-week backlog of appointments and apologized that he didn't have time at the moment to service my request. He said that if I texted him my contact info directly, he could reach out to me if there were any cancellations in the next 4 weeks. Although Urban Mechanical didn't have any appointment openings to service my request, I appreciate their transparency instead of just ghosting me. If they can be transparent about their scheduling, I am confident that they will be transparent about their work. EDIT: I received a call from Miguel a few days later that a cancellation happened -- he actually followed up, which doesn't always happen with other vendors. He came over at the appointed time. He had shoe covers to prevent tracking stuff indoors from his work boots! He did the inspection of the interior and exterior unit and cleaning. Miguel explained to me what he was doing and why and had no problems whatsoever in answering my questions. (I was like a kid asking "obvious" questions, but I really didn't know much about the AC system -- that exterior unit "filter" I described earlier was actually a coil.). Miguel was very thorough with the cleaning. The exterior unit was really dirty and he had heavy duty cleaner fluid and attached the bottle to my lawn hose and washed down the unit. Then, he dried it up with his towel. Miguel did find some potential mildew/mold build up, but this required installing a UV light, which was not covered in this service/inspection call (which is fine). He would prepare a proposal with several options to address that. In conclusion, Urban Mechanical has excellent customer service and does thorough work, so they deserve this 5-star review.
