My wife and I were struggling to install a new porch sconce, and had just succeeded in shorting out most of the first floor. Not five seconds after I told my wife we might need to call an electrician, Benny pulls up in his truck and asks us if we need any help. He'd been working down the street and apparently has a 6th sense for people doing shoddy electrical work. Ten minutes later, thanks to Benny we had two working sconces that don't start smoking every time we turn them on. Benny was a Godsend, and I don't know what we would have done if he hadn't offered to help when he did. Seriously, he was under no obligation to stop and help us, and the fact that he did shows what a stand-up guy he is. Did I mention today's Labor Day? I'm sure Benny had better things to do but he saw some folks in need and took time out of his day to help out. Will definitely be using A&E for any electrical work we need done in the future. Highly recommended. read more

I recommend A&E Electric (Benny et al) without reservation. I've worked with this group on several complex projects, and all have been completed without a hitch (many lighting projects, including in tricky vaulted ceiling areas, installation of sub panel, repair of prior electrical safety issues, garbage disposal, smoke alarms, etc). I love the work that they have done in our house. I also really appreciate their wonderful service, Benny is responsive (ping him once if the text slips thru the cracks, he'll get back to you pretty quickly), and a pleasure to work with. Their prices are reasonable as well. Five stars, a resounding thumbs up!! read more

So just tonight I had a small electrical emergency at my house. I called Benny based on all of his Yelp reviews. Even though he was pulling into his driveway, he still decided to come by because he heard the panic in my voice. He was exceptionally professional, kind, and--most importantly--honest. It was a quick repair, but I never felt as if he was rushing. He took the time to explain his hypothesis and then do some additional investigative work on our electrical panel. He absolutely could have raked me over the coals or sold me on anything, but he didn't. Don't call anyone else. This is your guy. read more

These guys are amazing!!! The work they do is on point for a very affordable price. They did all of our lighting and wiring for our kitchen renovation and the finished product is fantastic. We had to have a new circuit box added due to the new wiring and they did it at a fraction of the cost anyone else would have. We're having them come back in the fall to update more light fixtures indoors and out. Benny is awesome to work with, very personable and friendly. All the guys on his team are friendly and very knowledgeable. We have had absolutely no issues with any of the work they did. read more

Benny and his crew are the best! We had them take down some old track lighting and install a fan where there was no existing fixture. Val and Bert arrived on time, worked quickly, cleaned up, and made sure that I was completely happy with their work before they left. After they left, Benny called to follow-up and make sure that everything was good. I would definitely recommend A&E. Quality work for a reasonable price, and they are able to come out quickly. I will certainly be using them again! Thanks Benny, Val, and Bert!! read more

On a hot Sunday afternoon, my outlet for my ac unit died. I was heartbroken. Despondent. Then came Benny, in less than an hour he showed up at my house, fixed the outlet efficiently, left everything neat and clean. Thanks to this hero, I will survive another day in the jersey summer heat. But seriously- I've had a few jobs done by Benny over the years. Always fast, efficient and professional. I would not only recommend, but also glowing endorse his work, Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! read more

I just moved into an older home and had some circuit problems so I wanted the wiring to be checked out and new switches added. They came recommended by a contractor friend and lived up to the recommendation. They were on time, professional, courteous and NEAT!!. Benny checked out everything, made some good recommendations and even talked me out of a few things I thought I wanted. I ended up having them install a couple of dimmer switches as well. Would highly recommend this electrician. read more

A&E electric has never ceased to troubleshoot and impress and did even the most difficult of our old electrical problems! Benny is the friendliest, easiest person to talk to and is honest about the work that has to be done. He helped my husband and me with our old knob and tube wiring so we could sell our old home by the closing date. We will definitely use A&E again at our new home to update some small issues and also to install our landscape lighting read more

Benny came out to our house to fix a problem with the electric in our bathroom. He was able to come out the same day and spent hours digging through our old half-assed wiring to fix the problem. All of the other electricians we called acted like this was a job that was below them but I bet Benny would come out even for a light bulb. Thanks Benny I can now shower knowing my house is safe from shotty electrical work! read more
