I chose Pace for my wedding hair and makeup because of her natural aesthetic and reasonable pricing compared to other San Francisco artists. I highly recommend booking her for the entire day (10 hour package) if it's within your budget! I wanted this because SF is so windy and temperature can be so unpredictable. She and her assistant, Anna, styled me and three members of my bridal party in just 3 to 3.5 hours for hair and makeup for all. They arrived right on time, were flexible setting up at our unique Airbnb, and made everyone look phenomenal. During our trial, Pace patiently worked through two different updo styles as well as my makeup. I felt that something was not 100% with my final trial look by the end of the 3 hours, though. After the trial, I did more research and sent Pace my personal color analysis, and she adapted to it seamlessly. I was nervous changing things up without another trial, but I didn't want to do another trial. My wedding day look turned out quite different from the trial, but I loved it SO much. It was perfect. I am so grateful for Pace's flexibility with me and artistry--though looking back, I should have done more research before the trial! While searching, I wanted to find someone who would be able to do very natural and fresh makeup, and ideally was familiar with working with Asian features. Pace was absolutely amazing from start to finish, and very accommodating to the timing we needed. I picked some photos from her Instagram to show her the look I really liked from her portfolio. Through the whole make up/hair process she kept checking in on me and asking what I liked/preferred or what adjustments were needed. She even helped me re-do my lashes twice because I have uneven eyelids, and anything on them tends to enhance how asymmetrical they are. Pace was PHENOMENAL for my wedding day! My friend recommended her as she had booked Pace for her own wedding, and I was not let down. Pace was very responsive via email when discussing packages, availability, and booking the MUA + hair trial. During the trial, she was able to look at my inspiration photos and edit it to my more simple/clean preferences, and told me to wear it for a few more hours to see how my dry skin would hold up with the makeup. It was very nice to work with Pace and her team. She helps you create a look based on your inspiration pictures. I had a trial with her and bought the beautiest package from her. Her team arrived on time to help us me, 4 bridesmaids and mother in law get our hair and make up done. Everyone seemed happy with their hair and make up. Pace helped touch up my husband and made his hair look great. She helped me cover up some blemishes and fixed my hair when it fell out. She touched me up before our tea ceremony. She touched me up again before the actual ceremony and secured my veil and helped me bustle my gown for the cocktail hour. Touchups during the day did not take too much time and she waited patiently for me to be done with photos. I highly recommend having Pace's help during your wedding day. read more

Pace did the hair and makeup for myself and my mother on my wedding day, and we are so happy she did. She is incredibly talented, knowing how to pull off the perfect balance of natural and glam. She was able to make a look that looked both great in person and in photos. She is very accommodating and was able to do the hair and makeup trial at my home, as I was unable to make it to her studio. She was able to create a look from the reference photos I gave her and pretty much got it perfect in the first try. She is very knowledgeable and knew colors that suited me better than I did. She also gave me suggestions on skin care that helped a lot to make my makeup last better on the day of. On the day of, she was very professional, arriving on time and staying on schedule. She also provided a touch up kit, but I didn't end up needing it because the makeup lasted so well throughout the day. Pace is a really talented makeup artist and hair stylist who nails the natural look. I don't usually wear makeup and I wanted to look as natural as possible on my wedding day but still feel glammed up, and Pace delivered! She did a 2.5 hour free trial session with me where she tested out the look and adjusted accordingly whenever I gave feedback. She was incredibly detail oriented and really took her time to achieve perfection. On the day of the wedding, she and her team arrived 20 min early to set up, and they were both so professional the entire time. They had to do the moms' hair and makeup, my hair and makeup, and the bridesmaids hair, but they finished super early because they were so efficient (without sacrificing quality). Pace was amazing to work with! I had an 8am start on my wedding day in SF, and she was not only on time, but efficient in her set up in our hotel room. For both me and my maid of honor, it took around 4.5-5 hours. I went with a more glam/dramatic/natural look with half up/down hairdo. ** COVID Update** I contacted Pace to do my hair and my daughter's hair for an outdoor family photoshoot. Pace was very responsive and the whole process felt extremely safe. We all wore masks and no other customers were in the salon. The space was clean and comfortable. Per my last review, Pace is incredibly talented. I trusted her to make us look our best, gave her some pictures for inspiration, and let her work her magic. She did not disappoint. On top of being great at what she does, Pace is kind and compassionate person. She worked very well with my toddler and made our first mommy-daughter salon experience a memorable one. I had hired pace for the first time to give me a blowout and full face makeup for my maternity shoot. She came to my home and did an at home service which was convenient as I'm 23 days from my due date. She did my makeup first and the foundation came out blotchy and dull, my face was left pale with no bronzer nor contour nor highlight. There was just no dimension and no color. My eyebrows- she drew an outline on my eyebrows with a pencil but didn't fill them in much,my eyebrows were left super light and I had to "fix" them by adding my own dip brow to them. The eyelashes she had applied were so thin and cheaply made, no volume nor dimension and not very black, didn't stand out at all Once she left (instead of feeling "finished" and getting dressed up and heading out) I had to get my personal makeup and fix and add foundation, bronzer, highlight, and add a lot to my brows to make them standout. I ALSO had to go in with my curler and curl the curls that were falling flat or that were just not curled. My hair was left frizzy and flat in the back and around, I had to add some product for it to shine The blowout- she didn't wash my hair, she didn't blow dry and style my hair. She just went in and curled my hair.. didn't even use heat protectant.. I wanted the front of my hair a certain style (sleek and straight from top then curled going down) and she tried giving me some volume on top front using clips and hairspray which didn't turn out how I wanted it at all so she went back in and fixed it a bit, still wasn't how I wanted it it to be but better than what she had done before.. The whole process took a bit over 2 hours (which is understandable for hair and makeup) but she didn't apply very much makeup and ONLY curled my hair, and didn't do an actual blowout. It was honestly a disappointing turnout It definitely wasn't worth what I had paid For me it was a waste of time and money. This was something I personally could've done myself if I would've know how it was going to turn out. I shouldn't have had to feel like I had to fix (add more) my hair and makeup after I just paid someone to fulfill these two projects for me. She should have left me feeling finished and ready to go I don't have a picture of the makeup she did to show as I was running late and had to fix my makeup quickly read more
