I do not recommend this nail salon. I was already a little concerned about the level of sanitation while getting my pedicure, and unfortunately my experience only got worse. The nail technician insisted on doing my manicure while standing over me as I was getting my pedicure, which felt awkward and rushed. During the manicure, she cut my finger. When I asked if they had any antibacterial cream or antiseptic to apply, I was told they didn't have any and that "it would be fine." It was not fine. My finger became infected, and I ultimately had to see a medical professional and have part of my fingernail removed because of the infection. Looking back, I wish I had read the reviews before choosing this salon. I was shocked to see that other customers have reported similar experiences. This was my first time visiting this nail salon, and it will definitely be my last. I paid $75 for a set of nails that turned out terrible. The shape was thick, bulky, and very unprofessional. The polish was outside the nail lines, and the overall work looked rushed and poorly done. What made the experience even worse was that I was cut and burned multiple times during the service. When I expressed my concerns, I expected at the very least that they would try to fix the nails, offer a solution, or apologize. Unfortunately, none of that happened. Instead of showing concern, the technician became upset. They then started speaking among themselves in their own language while I was sitting there. I don't know what they were saying, but it felt extremely disrespectful given the situation. For $75, I expected a professional, safe, and quality service. Do not get services here, I paid $110 last Wednesday for gel polish which came off 2 days later while out of town which was embarrassing within itself. I've been getting my nails done for 20 years since I had my first job at 15 years old. I love nails, I learned how to do my own poly gel during the pandemic but it takes me forever! So It used to be busy in here, but I think most people in Forest Park want their full set to last longer than 2-3 days. The last set I had started popping off exactly one day later and they were Powder color nail forms/builder nails so they weren't cheap. I stopped coming here regularly ever since. They don't want to do your builder nails/nail forms. Builders/Forms are an overlay extended with paper stickers to shape the nail, no tips are used. They require attention to detail to shape the nail. They are healthier than tips because they aren't glued between your nail and acrylic like tips. I noticed they always recommend tips which break the natural nails underneath, tips are faster, require less skill and keep you coming back because they break lift and pop. They also don't want to do natural thin overlays on natural nails, and claim your nail needs an apex to keep the nail attached... let me tell you I had a thin acrylic overlay done on my natural nails while I was on a work trip to San Diego on June 28th, I let them grow as proof that I am wasting my money here. I haven't had them filled once, today is August 8th & all 10 nails are still in tact, the gel is still shiny, not chipped scratched or dull. The acrylic is thin and natural and they are 6 weeks old. If I had this done at beauty bar they would've lifter on the 2nd week. The quality of nail products does not equal their price at Beauty Bar and. Nails. They are over charging and under delivering. These short pink nails were done in San Diego. Thin overlay nails ARE possible, Nails that last 6 weeks with no signs of lifting is also possible. I went for a gel manicure and pedicure. The clear coat on my hands is pooled around the corners of my nail beds and sure to lift at any moment. She nipped my skin to the point it feels raw on my finger tips. My pedicure was so bad that after I left and the oil wore off I realized the technician didn't put gel top coat on MY ENTIRE LEFT FOOT. I usually go to Lauren or Snoh (pronounced Snow) but on this day i came in a bit earlier than i usually would, i didn't catch the nail technicians name but she sat me at station 3.. she talked on the phone the ENTIRE time and walked away frequently while doing my nails .. i was rushed to pick a color then she proceeded to get the wrong colors i asked for.. then if that wasn't bad enough she wanted to do my nails her way instead of how i asked , she basically threw the stickers on my nails & when i told her it was crooked she said " it's too late i can't fix it" .. then she didn't use glue for my diamonds they fell off the very next day .. i am so disappointed in the beauty bar for them to LOOK as luxurious and beautiful they sure do have some AWFUL technicians working there! I hate to do this because the owner miss Diane is very sweet but her staff is horrible. My mother, my 11 year old sister, and I arrived at 3:30 for pedicures. My sister asked for the mani pedi combo for 12 years and under for $27, a service she had gotten multiple times prior to the date without any issues. I go seated shortly after but it wasn't until 4:20 that I actually got my pedicure. My feet were super wrinkly by then. My technician was friendly and pleasant but my gel pedicure was not even. My sister and I specifically told her technician that she was getting the kids mani pedi combo when she was seated. Once they finished her pedicure they did not return to give her a manicure. When I asked about her manicure I was told they don't do that. I asked again and my mom's nail technician said it was only for little babies. I told her the chart with prices at the entrance specifically stated for kids 12 and under. Another technician decided to honor it and i left it at that but my mom's nail technician continued trying to tell me that it was for "little babies" The basic spa pedicure on the front sign said it was $23 but once it was time to pay they charged it at $27. I asked why and they said the book says $27. I paid and did not argue but do not appreciate there being different prices for the same service on display vs what is on the book they give you once you're seated at the pedicure chair. I don't mind paying the prices as long as their upfront prices. On my way out I saw that they crossed out the "12 years and under" off the kid services, I guess that makes it their discretion to decide who qualifies as a kid from now on. Overall, the place is clean, most of the staff is pleasant, drinks are served, but prices are inconsistent. The first time I got my lashes done they charged me $25 and they looked pretty good, but the 2d time I hated them!! The lady was rude and rushed through the entire process. This is a really nice nail salon as far as decor goes and the friendliness of the workers, I came for a regular spa pedicure ($32) that was supposed to include a sea salt scrub that I did not receive and when I asked her about it she pretended that she did include it, the massage was extremely short with very little effort. Also, most places I go to have individual packets of tools but the woman that completed my pedicure had a box with reusable tools, unsure if they were sterilized or not. read more
