Talk about a fabulous experience. I can honestly say this was the BEST pedicure I've ever had. I was getting a facial and was telling my esthetician I have a few hours before I need to be in Stockton for another appointment and I wanted a pedi. She texted her nail person and Monique said she would get me in. 1.5 hours later with a fresh face (shout out to Kelly at Skin Philosophy,) I walked into Beauty A La Mode. Cute, clean shop, plenty of parking and friendly faces as I walked in. Monique welcomed me, got me set up in a chair to soak my feet. She introduced me to Tran who would be doing my pedicure. Tran was a pleasure to talk to, had excellent skill and gave a mean (aka fabulous,) massage. The clientele that walked in were greeted by name and welcomed. There was a senior gentleman getting a pedicure when I walked in and then a senior woman that came in as I was finishing up. Monique and her team are thoughtful and gentle with their senior clientele as well. I joked with Monique telling her I didn't want to tell everyone how fabulous the salon was so I could make sure to get a return appointment. I have gone full circle... this was my salon almost 20 years ago... when Amy was the owner. Fast forward to last year when DD found Monique, and recommended I give her a try. This was my first visit here, and I was a walk in honestly not knowing if they could accommodate me or not. Monique the owner greeted me, and told me they were short staffed but would see what she could do. She made a call and someone was able to come in last minute to help me. I got gel nails and a regular pedicure. Both services were very nice, but the pedicure that Monique gave me was the best one I've ever had! So relaxing, and she was very gentle, and has such a sweet personality. The pedicure even came with a lemongrass scrub which other places you have to pay extra for. A friend recommended this nail spa and after trying several in town - one for quite a long time - I decided to try yet another one. I was so impressed with Monique and her gals. Very clean, welcoming, great selection of colors for nails and toes (which is all I did today). They do not take walk-ins which is nice so they can control "crowded" spaces. Pricing is comparable, if not a little less, than other salons locally. They do a fantastic job and I highly recommend trying this salon. I am beyond happy that Monique, Hannah and staff have reopened again! I was a regular here pre-covid because of their professional service and how they keep my nails and toes looking fabulous. Everyone here is just very nice and pleasant and make you feel welcome. I went in for gel nails last week and am so impressed with the safety precautions that are in place, including distancing, plastic shields, masks and adhering to health guideline about capacity. I love this place! It's one of the cleanest nail salons I've ever been in. All of the ladies are very nice but I'm a regular with Monique. She does a fabulous job and always makes a good color recommendation of you need one. The first time I came in I noticed everyone else receiving services was a regular. Everyone was greeted by name and had been coming for a long time. That was a good sign. Now I can see why people keep coming back. Good quality service, fair prices, and friendly staff. Appointments are definitely recommended. Another thing I noticed right away was how all the nail polish colors were organized. They were organized by color and displayed very neatly and orderly which I found made it easier to pick a color. FYI - if you're looking for a good neutral, nude, nail color London Coach is great! I'm afraid to give this review because now a ton of people will go here... Great service and clean, modern designed salon. My friend and I went together for mani-pedis and loved it. The salon chairs are new and clean and the leg massage was wonderful. Monique owns it and is delightful! She's smart, pretty, and speaks great English (she graduated San Jose State and was an accountant!) Apparently this place has been opened 30 years, so there are lots of regulars. She told me to book appointments at least a day ahead and walk-ins are tough. It was $42 for mani-pedi plus tip. I will definitely go back! read more

I've been a customer of Monique's at Beauty A La Mode since the summer of 2019 after I moved to Livermore. I tried a couple other nail salons in the area, but knew I had found the "one" after trying Beauty A La Mode. Pre-covid I had been coming in every 2-3 weeks for a mani/pedi, and I've missed it so much! I'm so happy that Monique has been able to open her business again! First the service is excellent! Monique is very friendly and gets to know all her regular customers. Making an appointment has always been super easy and I can honestly say I've never had to wait for her to finish another customer. She's alway right on time. She also is very talented and provides a very relaxing experience. I never feel "hurried". The massaging pedi chairs are an extra bonus. Second, her salon is probably the cleanest one I've ever been in, both the salon itself and the tools she uses. ( I used to travel for a living so I've been to many nail salons). In these times of Covid, she done a fantastic job of taking all the necessary precautions to keep her customers and staff safe. From masking, sanitizing, social distancing, limiting occupancy, and plastic dividers, I feel very safe there getting my nails done. Last, the salon is in a super convenient location. Best spot in town for a mani-pedi...and I really think that I've tried just about all of the competition. The friendliness of the owner and staff can not be underestimated. If you've been in once, the owner, who lives locally, will remember your name, and greet you personally. I am always fussy about cleanliness, and have been impressed with the the way that the shop is maintained. I've witnessed the nail technicians cleaning and sanitizing the equipment after each client. My last pedicure lasted, literally, months. One star is reserved for atmosphere, as it is nice, but basic. This isn't a luxurious shop/spa, but a tasteful, clean, well managed salon. read more

I only came here 'cause it was owned by my mom's fiancee's friend.. But I already know I won't be coming back here ever again. But I would like to say the one star is for how friendly the workers were. :] Anyways, I got a pedicure & acrylic manicure. The pedicure I could've done myself.. Actually it LOOKS like I did it myself.. -_____-; The acrylics looked horrible. I have pretty small hands & when she put the fake tips on they looked really big. So I asked her to shave the sides a little to make it look more natural. She did a litttle bit & then said with satisfaction, "Look so natural, huh?!" I have a soft heart & therefore couldn't say no. XP Afterwords my nails were really sore, which was weird 'cause when I got them done before, they weren't sore at all. Not only that, but they started to come off after the first few days. My mom got the same thing as me & I think the total was about 120$. So that's about 60$ for each of us.. Which is 60$ too much. :P Another reason why I won't be coming here is because I live in San Lorenzo. &What I had done is certainly not worth the commute especially since I know of a better place that's only a few miles away from my house.. read more

They offer silk and acrylic, but their silk is so much better for your nails and they do such a good job of it here. Her massages are the best and the pedicures and manicures are definitely worth the time and money you spend there. It's such a quaint and cute shop and has such a nice feel to it. I don't often get my nails done but going here made me want to do it all the time. This is hands down the best experience I've ever had at a nail salon. The biggest reason I chose this salon was reviews saying they made acrylic nails thin. They did not disappoint. My nails look great but more than that the atmosphere was so welcoming! My first time at this nail salon and I walked in on an early sat morning. Didn't have to wait and was able to get on a chair right away for a mani/pedi. Monique took care of my feet while Jennifer gave me a mani. The chair was so comfy and had a massage feature so got a back massage in the process. For my pedi, Monique used a scrub on my legs and feet plus a massage. I also got a hand and arm massage from Jennifer. My service did not feel rushed and it felt so good to be pampered. On top of that, my polish looked so good! I highly recommend and will be back to get my nails done there again. One of the best nail service I've had in a long time. The owner and the nail technician were very nice and went out of their way to accomodate my requests for a nail design. However, I noticed that she pulled her equipment out of a box and I asked - do you santize it after each client? She said no. They also have a weird way to take off gel - she scratched it off with her own nail - no metal tool or nothing. They say it's better for the nail that way, but I doubt the safety of this practice. Also, for a gel manicure, I prefer to cover my hands with gloves to protect my hands from aging under the UV light. This salon does not provide such gloves at all. Finally, their gel manicure started seriously falling off after about 10 days. I had major chipping, which says something about the quality of the base and top coat. When I tried to get it fixed on Sunday, I found they aren't open that day. Not very convenient... Overall, the mani and pedi were cheaper than at my previous salon in the city, but the quality and their questionable sanitation practices makes me not return. And, I need a salon that is open on Sundays. read more
