Such a cute little truck! Made me happy to find coffee so close to home. Coffee was tasty and my 3 year old loved the muffin!

I ordered an iced turtle latte with oat milk for a fun treat and chatted for a while with the owner who was super nice.

Until this year, I never noticed right across the street was Vacancy Brewing and the SXSE Food Co food truck. I took advantage of an Austin Asian Restaurant Passport that benefited a local charity, while also promoting local Asian restaurants. SXSE Food Co was one of the participating restaurants, and I wanted to take the opportunity to try Laotian food. The food was solid, with the flavorful sweet and savory balance similar to Thai and Vietnamese food. The skewers were solid but the crispy fried rice was my favorite dish. It had amazing texture with the crispiness and chewy nature of the sticky rice. There's also freshness from the herbs. The dish overall reminded me of the savory sticky rice with Chinese sausage we make in Cantonese cuisine, and the nostalgia made me love it that much more.

Fried rice is often an afterthought, a side or a foundation, not a feature or meal in itself. The rice is genuinely crispy, infused with the warm spice of red curry and fragrant herbs like Thai basil, cilantro, and scallions, for a full sensory experience. There's even some coconut for those rich, toasted notes to round it all out. Just be sure to specify vegan because they also have a version with beef. They're parked out at Vacancy Brewing which means you're never too far from an excellent option to soak up that last beer.

I also loved the green sauce on the side - it was the perfect addition. Along with our entrees, we also ordered agua de sandia (watermelon water). This was also very delicious and perfect for the Texas heat! We also had the opportunity to meet the owner, Sergio. He stopped by our table to make sure we were enjoying everything and shared some background on the food, which made the experience even better. Overall, an amazing meal and I can't wait to come back!

Service: 5/5: Even though you order through the ipad, the lady in the food truck answered our questions and gave us some recommendations. After we sat down to eat, the owner came up to us to see if we needed anything. Friendly and great service Food: 5/5: We ordered a ceviche and aguachiles and they were both filled with flavor and so fresh. At first it doesn't seem like a lot of food, but it definitely is. My favorite was the ceviche. I liked that they give you tostadas with your order. Drink: 3/5: We got the agua de sandia (watermelon drink) and it was okay. It either needed to be sweeter or needed more of that watermelon flavor. Not bad though. Definitely coming back for more

At Murray & Lexington I noticed that El Bandido Suelto ( The Fugitive Bandit?) was opened. I made a slower than usual right turn up the back driveway of the commercial building to the left and then drove around right to their parking lot. Stepping out of my car, I saw the sign stand had a QR code and a small menu. There wasn't a line and a only a few people were waiting for their orders. I looked at the menu on the window and learned that the menu is limited. After looking it over, I ordered the Birria Vampiros. It took less than 5 minutes to get my order. I sat down at tine of the nice wooden bench table with blue umbrellas and unwrapped the bag. In front of my eyes were two fried eggs, underneath that was a juicy, tender lamb and a cheese concoction. All nestled in top of a freshly made corn tortilla. I found out it was still hot when I tried to pick it up. No matter, I moved a bit of the nestled tapa topping to let the steam escape. In the second attempt, success led to an amazing combination of crunch, cheese, tender pulled meat with diced onions, cilantro, lime and red salsa... Twilight Zone experience. I'm going to keep my eye on this Bandido and look forward to trying the rest of their amazing fare... but wait the consommé... That my friend, completed the whole meal. Go visit...
