Pad thai, spring rolls, garden rolls, and pineapple fried rice

Went to a party where BeauThai was catered and it was EXCELLENT! Pad thai, spring rolls, garden rolls, and pineapple fried rice. Delicious, filling, crowd pleaser!

Great tasting dish. Had the Pad Ka Poa it was bright and vibrant, great chrisp on the egg rolls, I had a great time. The food was yummy

Thai tea crème brûlée

Under the sparkling Christmas lights, my friend and I enjoyed the Wednesday special, Thai for Two. That's two appetizers, two entrees, a dessert, and a bottle of wine for $68. Between the two of us, there was plenty to eat and drink with some leftovers to take home! Appetizers: Duck Rolls and Larb Gai Entrees: Pad Pik King with chicken and Pad Se Ew with pork Dessert: Thai Tea Creme Brulee While the entire food menu is fair game the deal, the choices are more limited on the wine. We chose the only white wine they were offering. It was still good, but we wished we had a wider selection. My favorites were the Pad Se Ew and the Thai Tea Creme Brulee. The Pad Pik King and the sauce go great over rice. Watch out for the spice in the Larb Gai! The service was a great and the restaurant was big enough to walk in without a reservation, especially on a Wednesday night.

The food here is consistently good. The dumplings were delicious and the Tom Yum was ah, very yummy. The restaurant is bright and clean with some nice architectural features and different seating areas. My server was friendly, delightful and attentive. Always a safe choice.

Drunken Noodles

Got the spicy drunken noodles. Was quite good and decently spicy. Good service despite the place being busy. Like the restaurant layout.

Pad Thai

Can't go wrong with pad thai! My friend also enjoyed the drunken noodles. Service was good and the food came out very quickly, like 5 minutes after ordering. Best part was dessert, don't skip the mango sticky rice. Atmosphere is nice, but most people do take out rather than dine in.

Spring Rolls

The vibe of this restaurant was very chill. Its a cute and trendy with what appear to be family photos on the tables and around the walls. The service was very awkward. It felt like the waitress was new. It took a long time to get water and even longer to finally put in the order for drinks and appetizers and even longer to put in the food order because she wouldn't take it with the appetizers. We had a couple drinks that were all terrible, but the food was pretty good. The spring rolls were overpriced for essentially three rolls they sliced in half for some reason. The pork belly was super delicious! Highly recommend grabbing it if you stop by. Pad Thai was delicious but it did have a pile of peanut crumbs on the side, which was a strange garnish or topping its unclear. The drunken noodles were a 8 level spicy. Nose running spice level, but the flavor was good. Finally the red curry was also quite tasty. Overall, if you're looking for an ok thai spot, this place is a good stop.

Bar scene.

I have to say that I am so glad that my original plans fell through because I would not have had the opportunity to try out Beau Thai for the first time. Now, I have a go-to spot for my Thai needs whenever I'm in Shaw. The first thing I had, which I absolutely loved, was the Thai Chili Mango Margarita. This delicious beverage has a nice mixture of sweet and spicy. *Don't worry, the beverage is not THAT spicy.* The margarita is mixed with a Thai-chili-infused tequila, curaçao, mango, lime juice and agave. I do not know why, but the combinations of these flavors really worked for the beverage (and me). While I'm not ha huge fan of beverages with more than three ingredients, this margarita made me rethink my general rule. Beau Thai's food menu is huge, which made it hard to decide on what to eat. I decided to keep it easy and go with a couple appetizers. The first was the steam dumplings, which were amazing. The dumplings are filled with a mix of chicken, pork and shrimp. I'm not sure what was the sweet sauce that accompanied the dumplings, but I need to have more of it. I thought the nine dollar price tag was fine for the dumplings. My other appetizer was the pork belly ($10), which was served with a spicy lime sauce and thin rice noodles. I also had an order of fried rice because I did not know that the pork belly was served with rice noodles. Overall, the service was above average because the woman bartender was on top of everything. She never left me hanging or waiting too long for a drink refill. While the food was delicious, I thought it took a little longer than expected for the food to arrive to my section of the bar. Ok, so it was not a super long wait. However, I caught myself thinking: Hmmm, the food probably should have been served by now. Perhaps, the restaurant makes things to order instead of reheating certain items. That (very) minor issue aside, I really look forward to returning again and trying more things on the menu...especially the cocktail menu.

Yellow Curry
Tova W.

Ordered the empanada as appetizer but it was the same as a curry puff at other Thai restaurants. Thai ice tea was good. The yellow curry wasn't too spicy and the sauce was delicious. The prices were surprisingly not bad for being in dc (around $17-$20/dish and $9-10 for appetizers) Lots of seating. We went when it wasn't crowded and got seated immediately. There was no music playing, so you can hear people near you. Parking available on the street.

Bobbi D.

Great experience all around... I originally ordered pickup but then it got cold outside and I had a little one with me so I asked to dine in and they graciously put the food on plates for me and even got the little one a coloring book and crayons! The garden spring rolls were amazing! I'll be back!

Curtis J.

The music was great and we were seated quickly. The server was pretty attentive and our food came out pretty quickly as well. We were grabbing lunch on a Sunday so it wasn't very busy but the food was very good. It's a very nice casual dining spot and if I happen to be in the area again I would happily stop by in the mood for Thai. I had the painting Curry which was flavorful with a nice touch of spice and heat. No complaints here!

Pad Thai
Stefanie M.

I've been wanting to try Beau Thai for a while now but we ended up just doing take out, so this is a take out review. The flavors of everything was good. The pad thai was great, we got chicken with ours. We also got chicken pad se ew which I thought was delicious as well. Penang curry is one of my favorite go to's, and I was pleased with the flavor of this one. I also tried the wonton soup, which honestly, might have been my favorite of all the dishes. While the flavors were great, my biggest issue was the portion size. It might be a product of skimflation, but the portion size was very small. The Penang curry was tiny, and the pad thai and pad se ew were small as well. The wonton soup was too small to really share with anyone but I was content with that because I wanted it all to my self. As you can see, the paper containers are less than half filled with each entree coming in at $17.00. I might order from here again, but the price was disappointing given the portion size. I can't comment on the service or the ambience, but the food travelled well and the flavors were great.

Martini Hour alert!…read more First, I think that the martini hour is absolutely genius! It runs from 5-7pm and the selections of martinis were perfect. Ambiance: the restaurant is beautiful but note that martini hour takes place in a small bar area with limited seats. Nonetheless, you can grab a few friends and make this a moment as you enjoy those perfect martini selections. Bites: there weren't much to eat at martini hour so we moved to the general area afterwards to enjoy some food. Service: the staff was amazing and very accommodating. Shoutout to Nesto, the best bartender around! Martinis: Morini Martini: I absolutely love this drink. It was crisp, refreshing, and had a little bold flavors from the white pepper. I absolutely loved this drink and would get it again Sicilian Martini: another fav! Think summer time refreshing with a hint of sweet and citrus burst from the mandarin and lemon Espresso Martini: this drink was another great selection. Freshly brewed and perfectly prepared. I loved it Least favorite: Cala Rossa. I only disliked the drink because it was very sugary and I don't really enjoy sugary drinks. Food: Rigatoni: this dish was divine! And quick note, the smaller plates were perfect serving sizes. But back to the dish. The pasta was cooked al dente and the lamb ragu was soooooooooooooo good! No seriously, it was absolutely divine. Perfectly seasoned and rich in flavors. Other members of my party enjoyed their dishes: Cappelletti and Paccheri Alla Norma, both were described as absolutely perfect. Excellent evening, great service, incredible food and perfect drinks! What's not to love about this place?! I'll be back!

Loved the moody vibe of the wine bar, it felt very cool, cozy and sophisticated. We sat in a booth under a red light so unfortunately my food picture turned out super red. Friends loved the selection of orange wine, and we ordered mcbetty truffle fries, shrimp scampi, honey whipped goat cheese, shishito peppers, and caesar salad for 4 people. Highlights were definitely the shrimp scampi with focaccia and fries, with the goat cheese on bread as a close third. A little pricy for the portions but honestly impressed with the variety of flavors and quality of the food. Service was ok, food came out a little slower than expected. I had really hoped to pick up some pastries (miss those baked joint cupcakes!) but seems like they don't sell them in evening. I'll have to come back for brunch/lunch to get some!

When you walk in someone will help you find a seat and once you you're ready to order, you go up to the bar to order drinks or food. Although wine isn't my main thing, they do offer a small and limited selection of alcoholic options just no cocktails. Enough to do the job. I loved the music and the dim, chill, laid back decor really complimented the overall feel. It's definitely a spot I'd come back to especially to try out some of the food. Really dope spot.

I visited on a Friday around 6:30 PM and sat at the bar to catch the end of happy hour (Mon-Sun 5-7 PM). The bar was empty at the time, but a few other people showed up later. Ddukbokgi is chewy rice cakes, gochujang, onion, and bulgogi. We thought it was only ok -- we've had better, including at Mandu in the past. Yukgaejang was a new dish for me. The menu described it as a "spicy beef stew, brisket, noodles, shiitake, bean sprouts, and egg." I expected the brisket to be sliced and recognizably brisket, but it was pulled -- it looked and tasted more like pulled pork. The dish also didn't have any noodles in it. I didn't like it. The banchan was seaweed, bean sprouts, kimchi, and cucumbers. It was okay. Service at the bar was fine.
