We've had two remodeling experiences with Beaty Builders. The first involved removing a door and window in our brick home, adding a sliding glass door and re-bricking the exterior. Also, a double door was completely removed and re-bricked on the exterior. On the interior, a framed-in ash paneled wide-screen TV bracket was installed. All was accomplished to our satisfaction.
A year later, a more extensive remodeling project has just been finished on our thirty year old home. Another door was removed and bricked over, a complete kitchen was engineered and renovated including oak cabinetry, vinyl-tile floors, all appliances upgraded, one window replaced, granite counter tops installed and ceiling lighting re-done. A lot of bringing this home up to code, such as electrical wiring and floor support, was engineered so that we can sleep easily now.
Some changes that we added as the project moved along were changed in the contract, which caused the price to increase, but, the amount was agreed upon before any additional work was done. Changes were larger floor tiles, diagonally laid, addition of a newer dishwasher, things of that nature. In the instance of a change made to exclude something, such as cabinet hardware, which lowered the cost, were refunded.
They completed the project on schedule, which was greatly appreciated, it IS tough living in a home undergoing this much renovation, but care taken to cordon off work areas and cleaning up each day made it livable.
We signed a contract, they did the work, and everyone is happy.
