How very disappointing! For over 20 years we have enjoyed your delicious almond cookies. So as it was my hubby's birthday I drove 45 min one way for this special treat. After dinner I opened the box to see the once familiar cookie to be way flatter than ever before. Well, it wasn't until we each took a bite that we realized the recipe has changed. They were so greasy and oily that we had no choice but to throw them away. Called Bea's first thing this morning to let them know and was told nothing changed. They made no attempt to address my complaint. Very disappointed, I guess they no longer care about customer satisfaction. read more

Ahhhhh! My childhood! Going to Bea's Bakery every Friday to get cookies, cakes, breads, etc. for the weekend back in the 70's/80's!!! It didn't disappoint today. Was in the valley visiting my mom and stopped in for some Hamantaschen and Rugelach!!! Then went to Mort's deli next door for some pickles and chopped liver!!!!! YUM YUM YUMMY! I used to really love this place. I'm still a big fan of Morts but this bakery attached is not what it used to be. Paid $9.75 for a danish, they don't heat anything up for you. When I heated it at home was kinda soggy in the middle. Was decent but not how I remember. Service was great though! read more

A solid bakery right off Ventura blvd that seems to be busy no matter what time of day you visit! I've been craving black and white cookies and not many places have them but Bea's does! But once I entered the bakery, saw all the pastries and cookies and breads, and got hit with that amazing sweet smelling aroma, I had to get a few more things! Sadly, the black and white cookies were just okay. The cookies themselves were more cake like, sure some people like that but my personal preference I enjoy the denser, "thick" cookie style. The icing was also pretty soft and more creamy than the royal icing most other bakeries use. Flavors were great though I just wouldn't come back here for these cookies specifically. I also tried my first Russian tea cake with raspberry and raising filling. This was delicious! Dense, soft, buttery pastry filled with the tart and sweet jam and fruits, it was surprisingly great. I also absolutely loved the confetti cookie and linzer raspberry cookie. Neither was overly sweet, while the confetti cookie had a strong vanilla flavor that I love, and the linzer had tart jam spread throughout the crumbly cookies. All these items were $16.75 and served by a great staff member who helped me and answered any questions I had. read more

Wanted something special for the Holidays. Ordered on line three days in advance. Peach pie - delicious!- Strawberry Shortcake - beautiful looking and light & fluffy. Both exceptional. Went to pick up day before Thanksgiving and they had hundreds of orders stacked up on racks. I showed my order # and gave my name and they found my package easily. I recommend ordering in advance because there was a line out the door down the block. Parking is in the lot behind the store. Super busy lot. Not a fancy store but I'd say they deserve their excellent reputation. Will go again. Btw was $60 - pie, cake and two bear claws. Not cheap! read more

Inflation at its finest, been coming here for years just for the bagels and to support a local business, always get a dozen bagels and it's been roughly $17. Today I was smacked with a new price of $27 for 12 bagels. When asked why the price hike I was told due to inflation they now buy the bagels from wester bagel company and turn around and sell them at Bae's. AMAZING bakery located inside Mort's Deli. I came and wanted a rye bread to go and they had about four different kinds to choose from. They had an option to slice it regular or thin. I also couldn't leave without grabbing one of their huge lemon bars. I wish I had gotten 2 because it was so good. The perfect amount of sweet and sour at the same time. I also got some mini rainbow cakes for myself. I want to try it all! They had some amazing cakes for display and you can also order ahead of time for bigger orders. Can't wait to come back soon and try some of the cookies. *They have a .45 cent fee if you use your credit card or you pay in cash.* read more

My go to for hamentashen has always been Bea's. But I'm super disappointed at my last purchase. The flavor of the cookie is off and the filling seems so old. I don't go as often because I'm not supposed to have too much sugar so sometimes I'll allow an indulgence. Even the chocolate chip horn I got didn't seem as good as before. If the recipes have changed, then you have done yourself a disfavor Bea's bakery. read more

The items that I have purchase over almost fifty years. I have never had one that did not meet my expectations and more. I loved the pound cake but my number one is the alligator. We ate so many of them, they were an all time favorite at the office. If you want your lips to really smack try one of those alligator as well as all the other sweet treats, drop by Bea's Bakery. Talk about an LA Institution. One of the best bakeries in all of SoCal is Bea's Bakery. My family and I have been visiting for three decades and some of my fondest Childers memories involving getting cookies, cakes and other delicious desserts from them. They've always been consistent customer service-wise and the quality has remained consistent. Although not Kosher, they bake everything fresh in rich Jewish tradition with plenty of options for cookies, cakes, etc. The Bavarian chocolate, challahs and the black & white cookies are mouth-watering delicious! read more

Been coming here over 35 years. Sad to say it's gone downhill since new ownership. Prices went way up, quality down. Ordered a birthday cake for my friend yesterday and picked it up, looked so drab and boring and just not beautiful like they used to. Then come to find out they used whipped cream icing instead of buttercream and I was there when the employee filled out the order and I have a copy and it clearly said buttercream. Huge disappointment :( read more

Used to LOVE this bakery and even when I moved it was one of my first stops when I visited....well no more .The Florentine cookies that were my favorite are now WAY too sweet (and overpriced too) My daughter's dry cookie wasn't much better either. There used to be crowds of customers here too -now there were exactly 3 of us. The bakery doesn't even have that lovely smell of delicious treats that it used to have either...but hey,now you can buy Ube everything AND tee-shirts...PASS. Thanks for the good old days Bea's but you've lost another longtime customer. read more

I don't know why, but I find this place charming! He's in a very old shopping center with very little modern conveniences. But it's a busy place and every time I've been the treats are fresh. And that is enough to make me want to drive all the way from Santa Clarita! I purchased a half a pound of chocolate chip rugala and a half a pound of cheese rugahla. I also got a dozen of their egg bread rolls and four of their marble almond cookies. Super delicious! The marble almond cookies are like a traditional almond cookie, but with a bit of chocolate flavor. I find it scrumptious! What are you waiting for?! Get in the car and come check this place out. And next-door is a great little deli that I need to discover next go round! read more

It pains me to no end to write this review but Beas is just not the same since new ownership. I've been coming here for decades and the quality and consistency of the pastries are not up to par. We brought home some danish and half seemed to be overcooked and very dry. Other products we have bought over the last year just don't have that same delicious we had come to know and love. Sadly to say I have not been looking forward to returning. Hopefully this won't be another example of new owners changing for the worse. read more

I have been going to Bea's Bakery for years but will never go to them for a momentous occasion. I had a party to celebrate my milestone birthday and since an acquaintance was attending my party and it was his birthday, I ordered a birthday-decorated cookie for him. Bea's Barkery put the decorated cookie into the box and then put the book in the bag upside down. it killed my gesture when went to sing happy birthday to him. And for me, I ordered my favorite cake, fresh strawberry whipped cream on yellow cake. Instead, Bea's Bakery me a pineapple filling cake. They did well with the picture I sent them to decorate the cake but disappointed me with what I wanted on my birthday at my birthday party. Don't trust Bea's Bakery on something custom. Only buy prepaid that you can see. read more

I supposed knowing that there were 3 birthday people she made 3 separate different flavored small round cakes (not that little I might add!), a dozen cupcakes . I am not a fan of sweets; but, all of the cakes and cupcakes I tasted were excellent! And yes, per the menu very expensive- but for the quality, so worth it.
