Unfortunately, not my cup of tea. I tried this place years ago and I had mixed feelings. I finally had the opportunity to try again and sadly was disappointed. The second time around, both my husband and I got a piece of cake. Each slice was massive and could easily be split into two or maybe three slices. This could be why the cost was was pretty expensive, roughly $22 total. Unfortunately, the cake was dense and dry; didn't have a lot of flavor. It's so funny, I ordered this full cheesecake for my friend's birthday. He loves cheesecakes, so I was happy to get it for him. However, after I ordered it online to pick it up a couple of hours later at this lovely store, Veronica from this store called me to let me know that just while my transaction was going through, a customer in their store had purchased a slice from the last remaining cheesecake, which incidentally I had managed to order online. So, I decided to go with her recommendation of another cake instead. Don't usually leave reviews but upon receiving my order of a "slice" of Banana cake, I took one bite and was filled with a sour spoiled taste. A closer look showed mold all over this wretched desert that looked more like a chunk they dug out from behind the fridge. How is it even possible to box this up and send to someone? Even without the mold it looks like 3 people shared it before packing it up. Look at the photo - that was the whole "slice" we received. Incredibly foul. Google reviews have multiple posts with the same results. Seems like they're trying to poison their customers. One moldy cake should be enough - but multiple reviews of mold? Shut it down! read more

SLJ, know that this is a constructive criticism because I like SLJ, The 9 inch triple berry cake that I purchased does not taste as it used to. Unfortunately, it's now close if not lower in quality as Whole Foods berry cake. What I used to recall with SLJ's triple berry is that it would have a slight linger of sweetness and creaminess after a bite. What I had, had none of that whatsoever and even tasteless after a few bites. Did you change your ingredients from the original? Considering the premium price of the cake, I'm assuming it will still have the same taste as before. Can you look into this please? I came here after a long week of overtime to get myself a sweet treat. The location was cute and the smell of the cakes was lovely as I walked through the door. The employees were nice and got my passion fruit cake slice ready quickly. The cake was a bit messy after the ride home, so the messy picture was my own fault. The passion fruit pastry cream was stiffer than expected but still had a sweet yet tart and refreshing flavor along with the apricot preserve. Sweeter than what I typically go for but still good for a rare treat. I would have preferred more cake to make the cake/cream ratio more balanced. The only thing I didn't like at all was the frosting flower that was surprisingly bitter. I thought $13.50 was a bit high for one slice, but the slice was pretty substantial and did cheer me up after my workday. Looking forward to getting a mini treat when I next stop by. read more

I've tried this location 3 times since I live in Calabasas. I've tried many of their cookies. Each time I was disappointed. The cookies look amazing and they are big, but each time the cookies were way too hard, almost tasted stale. The chocolate chip cookie was not good. The oatmeal cookie was decent but didn't taste sweet. The snickerdoodle cookie was decent and the gluten free double chocolate cookie tasted the best. But overall very disappointing. When I think cookies , especially from a high end retailer, I'd expect the cookie to taste fresh, soft and sweet. I definitely won't come back for a fourth try. The cakes all looked fantastic but I haven't tried them. This location was very clean and bright inside. The best part of my experience each time that I've come has been the customer service. He assisted someone before us and when it was my turn he remained at the cash register, I had to look over and he just stood there. The girl behind the counter was very rude. I came in planning on buying a few things to give to a friend. I came in and said hello, and she stared at me without saying anything. I was looking at the case at the different options and rather than ask me if I needed help, she turned her back to me and begin to do something on the other side of the counter. I waited three or four minutes by the register and when she still didn't offer to help, I decided to leave. Mind you there was not a single person in the shop so it was not busy nor was there anyone calling or any Major mess that needed her attention. A few months ago I received an extra watery pumpkin pie slice with all the filling/custard sliding off into the box, and I told myself I would not shop at this location any further. Unfortunately, this one is the nearest to me and I recently needed a few items for a mini birthday celebration, so I decided to give it another chance. I purchased five slices of different goodies, one piece of them being an apple pie (birthday boy's favorite menu item). Imagine his face when this is what he received. The rest of the items were in good condition and the inside of this box is clean, meaning it was simply placed like this.
