very disappointed! i have been here before, and the quality has just decreased. my pastries were burnt, dry, and stale. coffee was at the best 2/10, over sweet. the employees were not very friendly. read more

I love this little bakery! We were in Jasper for 3 days and stopped in here for breakfast every morning. I loved the veggie breakfast sandwich and their organic coffee. And the white chocolate raspberry scones are out of this world fantastic! read more

We only noticed this place after having lunch down the road which is too bad since they have great sandwiches for lunch. Prices are good too. Highly recommend for a quick eat. read more

It was best breakfast place in town. I enjoyed the Cinnamon rolls and White chocolate almond scones. The hot chocolate was very yummy. It was not that crowded . There are few tables to sit. Definitely recommend this place for people who love to enjoy a good breakfast :) read more

We called in an order for a cake for 40 people while we traveling through Jasper and Bear's Paw handled everything so perfectly. We got the vanilla cake with chocolate and the decorations were beautiful! Loved it! read more

My Americano was as tasty as water from a rung out dish rag. The tarts were burnt and the staff was in denial about it. I guess when your only real competition is The Other Bear Paw, you have no worries about meeting any standards. What happened Bear Paw? You USE to be the reason I picked Jasper over Banff. read more

Loved this bakery. Awesome coffee. The sticky buns and scones were delicious! The jalapeño cheese pretzel was huge!

One of the most delicious bakeries I've ever been too. Great coffee and award winning food! The best is the fantastic service. Worth the trip if you are visiting town. read more

Everything delicious, tasty espresso, fast service, takeout sandwiches very good too.

First visit to this place today - it was meh for me. Ordered a large latte (coffee was burnt) and a regular coffee for my mate. He said it tasted a bit burnt as well. I stood under the 'order here' sign and when the girl came to take my order and I told her what I wanted she pointed me towards the cashier to repeat my order again. The place was cute and quaint and the pastries looked good but wouldn't go back for the coffee. Tried to do "the local thing" ... wasn't memorable. read more

This is a friendly yet busy place. Thw food is tasty but some of it is a bit dry. The dood xould have used a splash more colour and flavour. The overall expierence the food gave was great. Maddie Mutt would approve. Dob't forget to order a drink to goo with your baked treats. Maddie Mutt hives her approval. read more

We got a white chocolate raspberry scone - it was OK, but the counter folks need to find a more efficient way to move people through - the system seems very cumbersome read more

Excellent spot to grab some Breakfast before going out and about or a lunch time sandwich. All of the Baked items are excellent. Every time were in Jasper its out Breakfast stop before hitting the hill read more

Bear's Paw Bakery - Bakeries Near Me - Jasper, Alberta

Besides the staff being rude and inattentive, their coffee and pastries are nothing to brag about. We have been visiting Jasper for 30 years and know that there are better choices in town than this place. Coco's is far superior and they treat their customers like they matter. read more

OMG, scone heaven!! I bought all the raspberry and white chocolate scones the day we were there and my kids devoured them when I got home. Fantastic bread, good coffee - I wish it was closer to my house. read more

Went in for coffee and something to eat. Baked goods were good, actually a 4 star for those. What brought the good experience down to a grinding halt was the cappuccino and latte. This was an insult to the noble Italian drink. I wouldn't give a single star for that. Just stick to a regular cup-a-joe when you go in. read more

Definitely worth the visit! This is a great option for those who want to take something back to their hotel room, or munch on while touring the town. read more

i had the chance to try the sticky bun, white chocolate scone and coffee here. the glaze on the sticky bun hardened to almost like a hard candy consistency which i didn't particularly like. but the bread itself was decent. scone was relatively heavy and coffee was aight. there was a very long line and it barely moved. one person did food and the other cashier. so the 10 or so people in front of me took a good 15-20 minutes... overall it was ok. nothing spectacular but not very many options in the area. read more

Bad quality pastry and marginal coffee. Keep looking. Our one stop. We threw it all away on our drive north.

Was really excited, but it just did not meet expectations: the bread in our pastries was pretty dry and the cappuccino was just ok.

First trip we got the sausage roll, sticky bun, raspberry white chocolate scone, and Nanaimo bar for breakfast. The sausage roll and sticky bun were outstanding! Highly recommend warming them both for a bit in the microwave, but they're still great cold. The Nanaimo bar was good but too sweet in the morning. The next day we came back and got 2 sausage rolls, a sticky bun and a butter pecan tart and warmed all three. Highly recommend all. The tart was like a mini pecan pie and the crust was perfect. read more

Pretty good bakery with a nice selection and reasonable prices. The Mexican Ciabatta was good. The lemon blueberry muffin had no taste. The chocolate croissant was very good. The Meet the Greek stuffed bread was good. The hot chocolate and the latte were nothing to write home about. Overall, pretty good and reasonable, worth a stop, but not extra special. read more

Excellent coffee. Huge cinnamon rolls. Good place for picking up coffee and a pastry - no eggs or other items for breakfast. Very busy with little seating. read more

Awesome selection and great taste. Very friendly service. Opens early so get there before they sell out!

Went because we heard good things but was disappointed. Cinnamon bun was not great, and I had to microwave my own breakfast sandwich in their microwave (as instructed by them). The eggs in it were rubbery and it had a processed cheese slice which was pretty meh, especially for the price. There are nicer places in Jasper to go than this for sure. read more

This place was a huge disappointment. The "fresh" bear claw and cinnamon roll were dry and tasted as if they were a few days old at least. Ended up throwing them away because no one wanted to eat them. This was on a Tuesday morning. Maybe they are better on other days. read more

A must try - white chocolate raspberry scone! Cheesebuns, and their mocha. Fast, friendly service. I always make it a point to take my family there. Excellent family atmosphere, just make sure you have someone scoping out opening seats as its very busy! :) Go local over the boring, competing Timmy's, definitely worth it. read more

Who wants to pay full price for day old, stale baked goods? Not me :( This place makes Tim Horton's look like a gourmet bakery!

I came here because everyone recommends it. I ordered a chai latte, a veggie breakfast sandwich and a butternut squash soup. The soup was good. The sandwich had processed cheese on it, could've been better, it was okay...The rest of the ingredients seemed quality so it helped save it a little. My chai latte I returned because it was really really really sweet. I got a replacement drink of a vanilla latte. They charged me seventy cents to replace it. While I waited I looked at all their syrup selection...Then when she presented my latte I asked "is sugar free syrup all you have for vanilla?". They said yes. They are giving people toxic chemicals by way of artificial sweetener laden vanilla syrup without telling them. That's a huge deal for me. DON'T POISON PEOPLE WITHOUT ASKING IF IT'S OKAY! I asked for another latte without artificial sweetener. My fiancee ordered a London Fog. And had to have it replaced. Was still awful. in the end she paid for it but didn't drink it. And no wonder they gave her artificial sweetener filled syrup too. Gross! read more

My favourite place for caffeine in all of Jasper. I always stop here for a London fog upon arriving and departing. Great atmosphere and perfect place to sit with a book during the quiet season. read more

This has always been the place in Jasper that we looked forward to most. But last week it disappointed us. The raspberry white chocolate scones were small, dry and relatively free of any raspberries or white chocolate. The danish I bought was so dry that it tasted two days old so I threw it away. My beloved herbed French bread had a super thick and tough crust that we could barely chew through. It all seemed like maybe they got a new oven or a new baker and they didn't yet have them on track. So I asked a local if Bears Paw had changed hands and she said "Are you asking because the quality has really gone down hill?" I said yes and she said others had noticed the same thing. Seems like they have good days and bad days but not sure what's causing it. We adored this place and are soooo disappointed that it let us down. Our average spend for a four day trip to Jasper is usually $80 but we sure didn't bother this time. read more
