The Nanaimo bar and the ice maple latte hit the spot. The line was long but moved fast. The white chocolate scone was amazing and melted in my mouth. Kudos the the worker that suggested everything to us. Basically almost bought the entire store. read more

Stopped by this place because I am a big fan of bakeries and we needed someplace to grab some breakfast. Luckily we got our timing right as there was only a line of about 10 people when we got in the door...by the time we got towards the register, there were at least 15-20 more behind us! Jalapeno Cheese bread - so much cheese, this frisbee size "roll" must have weighed a couple pounds! So delicious but all 4 of us had to share and still couldn't finish! Yum! Feta Spinach bread - didn't eat this until the next day and it was chock full of flavor and we actually liked that the bread was kinda chewy...didn't put it in fridge or anything and it still tasted great! Raspberry White Chocolate Scones - a must try!!! So moist and delicious but not too sweet! A regular at the bakery recommended them to me as did another customer who also recommended I get the mix to take home (which I did, tho' I have yet to try making it)...we bought 3 of these and we shared them for all 3 times we ate them they were that big and dense!!! You could throw these at someone and hurt them! But it's better for sure not to waste it on that and simply just enjoy eating them....my aunts and mom didn't think scones in the States tasted this good.... Yogurt parfait - giant cup of yogurt that had fresh blackberries and raspberries in the bottom with granola to mix ...I skipped the granola (which was tasty, I sampled it) and simply enjoyed the fruit yogurt mix... Sandwiches - we bought their ham/cheese and turkey/cheese - nice and simple but flavorful and great to eat while driving around Jasper Natl Park :) Good coffee and chai tea...wish we had time to try a lot more things since they had sooooo many baked goods!!! Wish also that we had this bakery in our neighborhood as I would be there every week and probably every day (tho' I would probably get fat from eating all the stuff!).. Highly recommend you make it there if you are in Jasper! read more

Why did we decide to try this place on our last day in Jasper? WHY? As we were leaving town, we discovered this gluten filled gem (I have gluten problems, but completely disregarded my food issues bc this place looked amazing. They did have gluten free options, but I wanted my gluten fix). We ordered the: - sausage roll - raspberry/white chocolate scone - sticky bun We ate the sticky bun first, which was warm, gooey, and DELICIOUS! By the time we got to the sausage roll and scone, it had been left in the freezing car and was cold/hard. Regardless, it was still delicious. I thought about "warming" everything up by place the bag up to the heater, but was too impatient to care. I would definitely recommended this place to anyone. read more

What a wonderful way to start the day. There's an endless selection of baked goods- we went for a raspberry whites chocolate scones (per yelp suggestions), a chocolate croissant, and a bear paw. I'm still dreaming about the white chocolate scone. It's not that sweet and incredibly flaky- exactly what a scone should be. It was wonderful paired with the coffee. Highly highly recommend for breakfast. read more

We stopped here our last day and I am glad we did, they had a great variety of parties to choose from, we grabbed a few and our favorites were the sticky cinnamon roll and the raspberry scone. The flat white was okay. We had much better at another top Yelp coffeeplace, but overall a good fine. Super crowded and limited seating so great for grab and go! read more

Stopped in on our way through Jasper early in the morning for coffee and pastries and devoured the raspberry white chocolate scones so quickly we wished we'd bought a bag full! Everyone raves about the brewed coffee but I didn't think it was that great. Check out the day old bread shelf for some great 50% off options! read more

You really do need to get here early as it's extremely popular. The bread is fabulous as are the soups, the cakes and the sandwiches.. Would not hesitate to recommend... read more

The best bakery I have ever been to! The hot chocolate is to die for! All there bake good such as chocolate peanut butter cheesecake, and there muffins are amazing! While in Jasper I highly recommend for anyone to visit :) one of my favorite places to go read more

I dropped in during a morning run for a latte and scone. The scone was tasty, crunchy outside and moist inside just as is should be. The latte was served boiling hot, with milk scalded and zero foam. Don't they use thermometers when they steam the milk? Everyone behind the counter looked a bit tired, no smiles or hello greeting. They can bake here, but that's about all. It's a cute little shop and if they learn to make a proper espresso drink (and maybe have a few before they open), they'll be much better. read more

One of the worst cappuccinos I've ever had. The chocolate croissant was horrible. Their butter is substandard. Can't understand the hype. Tip was forced which should be illegal read more

SLOOOW. It took almost 20 minutes to get my latte. And this was 1:00pm - non coffee rush hour. BUT, more importantly, the latte was very subpar. I didn't even finish it, which is quite unlike me. My suggestion is to have a really good barista show them how to make espresso type drinks. The ingredients can be pretty much identical, while the end product sure can range from fantastic to, well, something I won't even finish on the 3 1/2 hour drive down to Banff. The bakery products weren't very good either. It was 1:00pm, so that may be a little unfair if all the good stuff is there first thing in the morning. The staff seemed to be having fun and enjoying themselves, which is always nice to see. read more

No wifi. No AC (hot in here on a warm day). Nice food and drink. average service. read more

Wow! We went here twice while we were in Jasper. We sampled a number of baked treats, sandwiches and also got some soup to go. All were top notch. The line of soon to be happy customers may intimidate you - but here's a tip: If you're looking for 5 items or less and/or brewed coffee, you can use the walk up window at the sidewalk. Another tip, look for the smallish micro wave and follow the instructions to warm your food up if you're eating it right away. read more

Easy to find. Hard to choose something when the choice is so tempting. We chose the spicy sausage rolls and coffee. The locals are lucky they have such a great bakery. The scrolls made me drool;) read more

Bear's Paw Bakery - We had a hard decision when every thing looks so tempting. The spicy sausage roll and coffee were the right choice.Lucky locals! - Bakeries Near Me - Jasper, Alberta

A wonderful little gem in a beautiful mountain town! The coffee was delicious and the date square rivaled the ones my Quebecois Nana used to make - a little taste of home while away. Definitely pop in on your way through Jasper - you won't be disappointed! read more

We drove to this shop the morning after camping in Jasper to warm up as it had started snowing. All of the baked goods and desserts smelled and looked delicious. We got a cream horn and it was excellent! We also got coffee and breakfast sandwiches. We enjoyed our sandwiches, but would have loved them even more if we had known about the microwave available to heat them up! read more

Nice place. Great selection of cones, crossiants, cakes, all kind of sweet stuff. Very reasonable pricing.

We bought there because all of the great reviews. Well there were good tarts with berries and strawberries, but most things we bought weren't 'Waaooo'... read more

I really like this bakery, they open early in the morning so we could grab our fresh coffee and pastry before going off for an early snow hike. Unfortunately they don't serve lactose free milk so we could only get americano. The quality of the coffee is good. We tried their bear paw pastry which is ok.. it would have been better if they could serve it warm. read more

The pastries at the Bear Paw Café are worth stopping in Jasper for; in fact on a recent trip from Edmonton to Vancouver, we stopped both directions to get some coffee and scones. The best scones were the white chocolate raspberry followed by the cheese and then the strawberry chocolate. I was driving while my wife fed me a bit of scone and I was shocked because I took a bite and said "wow, that doesn't feel like a scone in my mouth, it chews like a muffin". I looked at the scone afterwards and it appeared to have the texture of a muffin as well... weird. I bet their scone mix is very similar to muffin mix. I only found that with the strawberry chocolate scone, not the other ones. I don't know anything about baking, but I do know that this place makes great sconemuffins. Next time you are driving through Jasper, make sure to stop here instead of some chain restaurant to get your breakfast/lunch/carb fix. read more

This little bakery and coffee shop was a life saver when we didn't have enough coffee from the hotel. We got a little of everything, spicy sausage rolls, bear claw, apple strudel, raspberry coconut bar, and the bruschetta bread. All was wonderful!! The bruschetta bread survived two days and is still soft and delicious. read more

we only had coffee here; it was good. the place was busy but the staff was efficient and friendly. the pastries looked delicious, but we had just eaten so we were too full to try them. read more

The cranberry scone is a must try! The banana bread was pretty good too as the texture was a tad chewy which is something I am into. Its a pretty cool cafe to chill and have a leisurely breakfast. read more

A cute little place that was bustling the morning we went in for coffee and a quick breakfast. They don't have a lot of seating, so it might be hard to find a spot if you're hoping to dine in. We lucked out and scored two comfy couches. It has a great cozy ambience, and the staff are all friendly, many of them were Japanese likely on working holidays. The scones are quite good - not the best I've had, but definitely enjoyable. We had the cranberry white chocolate scone and the double chocolate scone, and we both had trouble deciding which one we liked better. The croissants and other laminated dough pastry were so-so, probably similar to grocery store calibre: good to eat but nothing remarkable. read more

We got two muffins - morning glory and blueberry lemon. Both ok but nothing special. We also got a white chocolate raspberry scone - very good. And a plain croissant - so bad it was tossed in the garbage after the first bite. We decided to get two turkey sandwiches and a Nanaimo bar for the road. The sandwiches weren't very good but they did the job. The Nanaimo bar was bland and definitely not representative of what a Nanaimo bar should taste like which was a disappointment but gave a nice sugar boost after hiking up the whistler mountain. Overall very ordinary but not sure if there are many other places to grab a quick breakfast/lunch to go before 10. I guess it would be good to note that we are spoiled in Montreal with amazing bakeries. read more

Meh. Poor service, decent espresso, moderate food... Meh. Had potato salad and old MacDonald sandwich, I'm sure the baked goods are better, although the brownie was hard. read more

I will be honest, this place looks great from first impression. But it is no French bakery or average bakery in Vancouver or Toronto. The croissants are not flakey they are doughy not light. Pastries are all sugar not delectable and satisfying. Overall I grade them as amateurs taking advantage of the tourists read more

We tried the chocolate almond cake, peanut butter cheesecake, and the Nanaimo bar. All of them were pretty unsatisfying, dry, and bland. The cheesecake was the highlight, but still required that you REALLY like peanut butter. Would not recommend read more

Amazing to find a place like this in a little town like Jasper. Opens at 6 am, and is full of freshly baked breads and pastries, with people lined up. They have a take out window for quick service. read more

We had a pretty mediocre quick brunch here. The chicken salad was big with tasty dressing but the breakfast wrap had too much egg and not enough of anything else. The wraps themselves were cold which was weird with the hot eggs. They messed up our coffees, too much sugar added to the mocha and no sugar in the latte. As the line was out the door we just sucked it up and downed our crappy drinks. Overall I didn't think it was all that special for the wait and the price...better hot breakfast at Tim Horton's (yes I know it's a fast food joint). read more

Be sure our not in a rush getting here. In the mornings there will always be a long line. And there is a good reason for it. The baked goods are great. We had a roast beef sandwich, the morning veg roll (or whatever it was called), a cranberry and apple muffin and a white chocolate and raspberry scone. All was super tasty. The morning roll came with what I would describe as a square piece of veggie omelette and cheese. I heated it for 45s in the microwave and also put it n the toaster for a short time to get a bit of a crunch on the roll. It was SO tasty! Loved it. The muffin was one of the best I have ever eaten. And they even have reasonable prices too. read more

Got there late in the afternoon, there wasn't that many choices left for sandwiches. Ended up getting a ham cheese egg sandwich and raspberry white chocolate scone. Both were good, the scone a bit too sweet for my preference. I wish the sandwich was warm and fresh, but even as cold not too bad. So I wish I shared the same experience as other reviewers, but maybe they got there earlier when there were more selections and everything was freshly baked. For a late comer like me, it was an OK experience. read more

I bought Cheese bread, Bearpaw bread, Carrot cake etc. All were delicious. Their bread was delicious after two days.

There weren't too many breakfast options when I stayed in Jasper so I was pretty happy to stumble across this bakery. Oh man, their cinnamon rolls are so good. They caramelize on the bottom in butter and sugar, making this delicious crust that is so bad for you but so good for your taste buds. The raspberry scones are pretty big and yummy as well. I got one of their soups to go (mushroom) which turned out to be pretty awesome as well! The cheese rolls were pretty awesome as well. I tried the sausage rolls as well and they weren't too bad either. Overall, all of the items I had here were pretty awesome but I would definitely recommend the cinnamon roll for sure! read more

Omg I love this place. Great coffee. Great pastries and other baked goods. You gotta stop here if your in jasper. You won't be disappointed.

When you enter, you will know why there is a line up. Order anything on the menu it is incredible. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients and the authenticity of the bakery.
