Such a surprise that this beautiful golf course and distillery is so close to my residence…read more My daughter and I came for the red white and blue celebration on July 4th. We bought our tickets to the event when we arrived. Tickets for tours are also available. After walking through the store and the rows of wooden barrels from floor to ceiling, you find yourself in a small area with a big bar. The event price includes one cocktail of your choice. I chose the Oh Peachy and later purchased a pecan old-fashioned; both were delicious! Unfortunately, the food truck broke down, so there was no food available!! Big Mike was performing in the big lodge room; the acoustics are pretty bad, especially once people start talking, but at least it was cool in there, We spent a lot of time in the store and ended up purchasing a fused bottle of whiskey to split. It was fun, deciding which cork stopper to get to add to my daughter's collection. The store has different sizes and shapes of a wooden court display boards; in the shape of Texas. The golf course surrounding the distillery, looks beautiful and well taken care of.

I have been here a few times for different events. There is plenty of seating inside and outside…read more The bartenders have al says been Lilian's will suggest a drink. I like that they have a seasonal drink menu. They don't have their own food, but do seem to have food trucks.

A cute little family owned winery we stopped by on our way to see the Ennis bluebonnets. The "wine…read moretasting room" is very cute and there are also little goodies for sale, like candles and gummy wine infused dinos (!!!). There's also a good selection of cheesecakes which sounded interesting but we didn't try them. Staff was very friendly in giving recommendations and describing each wine. Tried a few recommended wines (each person can sample 2 for free) and they were just okay for me. Lots of fruity wines and some seasonal flavors like gingerbread which was interesting. I liked the lime with coconut the most, but didn't love any enough to buy a glass or bottle. We ended up getting the cheese board, which was $18 and came with crackers and a good selection of cheeses, meats, nuts and mustard dip. Adding some grapes would've been amazing!

First let me say that April is their peak time (because it's blue bonnet season and folks are out and about) so they charge a fee to park. We arrived near closing time yet they were kind enough to welcome us in and allow us to look around. We also decided to grab a glass of wine while we walked around looking. I will honestly say that I am NOT a wine snob, I couldn't tell ya a good glass from a bad glass but I don't like dry and I don't usually like reds. With that said I was given some suggestions and for what it's worth, I'd drink it again. We were offered to purchase some cheesecake but without seeing what I was getting and told $11, I passed on it. I will say that the souvenir "glass" that I paid for was disappointing, come to find out it's a plastic cup, however I was told it "floats in the pool" but I'll never know because I don't own a pool to sip and float in. So most the folks out in the yard were wine tasting and seemed to be enjoying what they had. I had one couple who actually went down the list letting me know what their favorites were and why (I took notes). This is a cute little spot off the beaten path. I must say that I'm thankful for a restroom but I'm never a fan of portable potty's and unfortunately this was the only option at the time. If I'm out this way again, I'll make a stop and try a wine flight to see if the other wines live up to the hype.

I visited this spot to check it out, and it didn't disappoint. Located in the countryside of…read morecentral Texas and surrounded by farmland, the natural setting gives the place a cozy, homey feel. The owners, a friendly husband-and-wife team, are wonderful to meet and greet you with a warm welcome. The whiskey experience here is pure Texas style, with a fantastic selection of house-made options. You can't go wrong trying any of their offerings. They also provide samples if you want to explore their variety before committing. The menu features classic bar food, including hamburgers and pizza--simple but satisfying. While I was there, they didn't have live entertainment, but they do regularly advertise performances on their Facebook page. In fact, they mentioned there would be live entertainment later that evening at 6 p.m., which was a bit of a disappointment since I couldn't stay. Their food is all made in house and very delicious!! I had the Texas Ranch Style burger with fries. The burger was very flavorful and I am glad I added jalapeños. In addition to whiskey, they also brew their own beer, which I didn't get a chance to try but will definitely check out on my next visit. They even offer tours upon request, depending on availability, which adds another layer of fun to the experience. They also sell meat products here. You can either buy from the freezer inside or by the box. Prices are listed on the menu. If you're looking for a great place to unwind with a drink and enjoy a laid-back atmosphere, this spot is worth a visit!
