The first thing I'll say is that it's hard to beat their prices. The food is good for the price you pay and the staff is very friendly. I loved the real flowers out on the tables and they had bouquets for sale as well. Plenty of seating on two different levels. The couches are one of my favorite aspects of the ambience as it really lets you get comfy as you share a drink with a friend. Whether you need a place to sit and work, which I do often, or a place for lunch.. there isnt a better shop in Hillsboro. The spinach artichoke grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup is seriously to die for. The fact that the workers learn your regular orders and serve you quickly is amazing. I was driving back to DFW from Waco and instead of going to my normal spot I decided to try Overflow Coffee Co, partly because the name sounds great!! I walked in and was greeted with a big smile, this made for a great first impression. I picked out the meaty quiche, and a yogurt parfait, an oat milk cold brew latte, and a regular cold brew. As I was waiting I walked around and found this place extremely charming inside. The setup is absolutely beautiful with all kinds of cool, locally sourced nick knacks. From pottery to leather good to candles and chocolate, they even had knives for sale. If I wasn't in a hurry I would have probably bought something and will definitely be back to have a closer look. The parfait was really good! There weren't raisins in the granola which is always a plus in my book and it wasn't too sweet with the perfect amount of muddled blueberry at the bottom. The quiche was rich and a pretty big, thick slice and tasted okay, not as much meat as I expected but I did enjoy it. The cold brew coffee; however, did not meet my expectations. The oat milk latte was just cold brew and oat milk, nothing else and it did not taste good at all. I tried the regular cold brew and noticed that it had not been filtered very well (so much so that I could see black particles in the latte after the oat milk had been added) leaving an oddly high amount of residue at the bottom and causing both coffees to taste bitter. I wish I would have noticed before I had left so I could have ordered something different but I was already on the road. I don't think the coffee would have been as bad if they would run it through another filter before serving. I'd highly recommending going with something other than the cold brew, and be sure to specify the contents of a latte so you don't make the same mistake I did. I'm not mad about it and will be back to try other drinks and check out the shopping a little more. It's not a bad stop to make if you have to time and want to treat yourself. My all-time favorite coffee shop, every time I come here it's a treat! I love all the creative lattes, it's always so fun to try something new. My favorites so far have been the spilling bee and the Stanford. They're super yummy if you like your coffee sweet like me. It's also a great place to study with lots of room to spread out. The upstairs area is my favorite, especially the little book nook. Also, the drive thru is super convenient if I just want to pick something up quick while driving between college and home.
