Delicious cream puffs! These are such a tasty treat that aren't too heavy or sweet-they're just perfect! The staff are incredibly friendly and it's super clean. We will continue to be repeat customers!

10.13.24: We had to come back after trying Beard Papa's for the first time back in September for a Yelp event. I'm all about consistency and our first time in was so great that I wanted to try it again to make sure it wasn't a hit or miss kinda place. Well let me tell you, the consistency of Beard Papa's cream puffs are definitely there and so is Mark's excellent customer service and attitude. The woman who also works there (wife maybe? I don't want to assume ) is really nice and friendly too. This time around as a dine-in treat, we ordered the Purple Oreo (Oreo custard filling w/ ube and Oreo topping), Churro w/ horchata custard filling, and Cereal filled w/ frozen mango custard. As a take home, we ordered a half dozen of the classic puffs with vanilla custard. My friend also keeps ordering this Oreo custard shake that he says is thick and delicious lasts the entire hour ride home. I love how you can make your own unique custom cream puff that would suit even the people on the pickier side. I enjoy trying the flavors of the month and they're all so different too, not too mention really flavorful. If you love tropical flavors, then the frozen mango custard is worth the try. The purple Oreo is a great catch for Halloween month. The subtlety of the ube mixed with the Oreo makes for a perfect sweet chocolatey goodness. I was surprised with the Churro horchata because I thought the horchata would be more on the plain side. I was totally wrong and the horchata had a great cinnamon and nutmeg flavor combo. We come to town about once a month and Beard Papa's is a place I look forward to stopping at every time! Fyi, they have updated fall hours.

Great cream puff pastries with many unique flavor combinations and monthly new flavors. The workers were super helpful and so courteous. They gave my kids samples and let us try different flavors. The interior is sleek and fun. Gotta give them a try.

Wonderful cream puffs and excellent service! We came in for cream puffs today and had an original and Oreo cookie with vanilla custard and they were delicious! The restaurant is bright and fun and wonderful! I highly recommend Beard Papa's for cream puffs!

I've always heard great things about Beard Papa's, so I decided to stop by since I was in town. Very friendly workers and nice accessible location with plenty of parking. For the cream puffs, you basically pick the type of eclair, and the flavor of custard you want to pair it with. They have a bunch of different eclair flavors ranging from smores, strawberry, original, Oreo, etc. For the custards, they have several flavors ranging from vanilla, green tea, ube, etc. The combinations are endless. I'm a crème brûlée (ty google for letter accents) kind of guy, so I stuck with the strawberry and original eclair with vanilla custard. Very nice custard base, creamy with the perfect amount of sweetness and vanilla flavor. The ratio of creme to bread is probably 100:1, which I appreciate. I thoroughly enjoyed both pastries! Would recommend. Also, the interior is clean with adequate seating and free wifi. Great spot to hangout with friends.

Mary and I stopped in here today. This is a very new business, opened yesterday. We tried four of the different cream puffs, soft puff, tasty vanilla filling, not to sweet, creamy tasty icing. You should get in here and give this place a try.

There are also warm food options to order. The staff was friendly and upbeat and answered my questions about the baked goods and food. I selected the ginger crinkle and was not disappointed. It was so flavorful and rich with real ginger you could see. I came back the next day for another one. There is street parking but it can be limited when times are busy. There is space to sit and enjoy your food. And there are some neat shops to check out nearby. Highly recommend!

The quality of ingredients tasted really fresh and thoughtful, and they have a surprisingly wide variety of nutritious options. I don't have a chance to try it, but their selection of savory entree plates were very impressive (see my photos pleaseeee), and they also serve delicious soup as well. But the highlight was their baked goods, 100% gluten free at a very reasonable price for the portion and quality. This place is inside Saranac Commons, very pretty and is a good place to slow down for lunch or coffee. Staff were kind, attentive, and happy to answer questions about the menu. Definitely a place I'd come back to whenever I'm in Spokane.

I'm not usually one to blast a business online or complain about customer service, but this one…read morereally missed the mark. Last Tuesday, I called Lilac City Bakery to order a custom Minecraft-themed cake for Paxton's 8th birthday. We talked through everything--flavor, size, layers, filling, and most importantly, the design. I specifically asked for the Minecraft "block" look, and she mentioned adding green grass edging to an 8-inch round cake. I also requested it say "Happy 8th Birthday Paxton." Total cost: $167. Fast forward to Saturday pickup... and it was just a chocolate cake covered in green frosting. No blocks. No characters. Nothing that even remotely said "Minecraft." I shared my disappointment at the counter, and the solution was to add a few pre-cut fondant pieces on the spot. I reached out to management afterward, hoping for some understanding or resolution, and was told: "I do not find that we made any missteps in providing a custom, hand crafted cake which aligns with the theme." and "hope you enjoyed the cake over all, as it was very well done". However I completely disagree. So I'm genuinely asking... are my expectations too high for a $170 custom cake? Because this felt like a pretty big miss.
