Got my bow restrung, great service. Now just have to put it to use. Greatful for small business and local support.

This shop has been really, really good to me. When I first bought my bow they went above and beyond to help me get setup. It was a used bow and I brought it in to have them check it over before I bought it. They told me what they thought it was worth and didn't even try to sell me on anything new. They were very helpful. After I bought it they helped me out a ton. Set me up with arrows and everything else I needed. They even let me shoot at the range in the back room till my wife called and wondered where the heck I was at. 8 months later I'm 6 days away from my first hunt with my bow and I dry fired my bow and broke the string. I called them and said they could get me dialed in before my hunt, just needed to track down a string for my 6 year old bow. I called around town to compare pricing but literally no one in town could get it for at least two weeks and at this point my hunt was 4 days away. Ed told me to bring it by and he'd see what he could do. The shop had my bow restrung and tuned 3 days later. They even took an extra hour to help me get my bow tuned specifically to my shot before I left. This shop has been very helpful every time I've gone in and are always willing to help out with anything extra I need. read more

I have no issues with Bear Mountain or it's staff! They have always taken their time and treated me fairly. It's the best local mom and pop shop around, don't waste your time with amateur staffed big box stores. I have purchased everything I own from here and when I upgrade I will be returning again! I put in a special order here, and I received it in a reasonable amount of time. No complaints on my end. The gentleman who took my order was friendly, and I was happy that one of his distributors had my difficult to find item. If they don't have what you are after, just ask - I'm sure they can get it for you! My only suggestion to them would be to repair or replace their broken street sign! read more

One of the worst places . I've gone in 4 times 2 for bow stuff and 2 for gun stuff everytinw they were rude and un helpful and just acted like they didn't want to help with any of my questions. I work way to hard for my money to spend it with people that can't treat me right. If its the way I look or something else thats bull shit. Im someone just like everyone . My money is green and I worked hard and honestly for it. I wont be back in there ever and ill tell everyone I know not to go there. read more

Prices aren't the best, but he has a lot of stuff that others don't. The last time I was in he had a couple things I had been looking for forever, but also a magazine for a S&W Shield for $10 more than I can get it most places. I wanted to buy the Shield mags, but I wasn't going to overpay that much. It's obvious to me that he doesn't have half as much shelf space as he does inventory. I am just getting back into archery after 20 years. I found the staff at bear mountain to be extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They took time to explain the changes in technology and how they impact the sport. They set up my bow with the rest, sight, peephole, etc... On site while I waited. At each step they took time to have me shoot examine arrow flight and readjust. After all adjustments the bow was shooting so accurate that one arrow was destroyed by the next arrow striking it. If that is not a testament to workmanship I don't know what is. All told, it was a fantastic experience that has allowed new to get back into this sport. I highly recommend bear mountain. read more

Just had a great first time customer experience with Ed at Bear Mountain. I had purchased a rifle and scope at another local shop. That shop did not have the staff that was trained to properly mount the scope and bore sight it. After calling around Ed said I could bring it right in and not only mounted and properly sighted the scope but also gave me some advice on cases, slings and a bunch of info i had not even realized to ask. pro shop yeah, they wouldn't even put a string on my sons bow, and then told me a 30 inch draw is too big for ME, I am 6'3, all he seemed to want to do was sell me a new bow. I will not be returning here, even though its two blocks from my house. read more

The guys that work there are veryhelpfu.l I had a problem assembling a handguard for my AR and even though it wasn't a part bought from them they still helped me install it for no fee they are very helpful and kind. I found a gun for my fiance and the man behind the counter was able to order it to the store for me to pick up. Awesome people!!!!! read more

I was surprised to see such negative reviews of Bear Mountain! I have been going here for 26 years and it may not be the shiniest place around, but they know their stuff. Their Archery Pro-Shop guy Mike is awesome! He is always super helpful when I go in for anything. He always takes the extra time to make sure everything is set-up right on my bows. They have more Hoyt's hanging on the walls than anywhere else in town... and their prices are great! I've bought two new bows so far this year and getting great service... what's not to like? Like I said, it's no castle... but I love the personal attention I get in the archery department. It just goes to show that when somebody has the odd bad experience is always anxious to hate... but all the good experiences are never heard... that's why I am taking the time to do this review. read more

You can purchase archery and hunting equipment there. But I promise, they will talk to you as if you are stupid. Typical for most archery shops. I would drive to Tucson any day from the valley just to shop at Bull Basin archery. Customer service is important to me and I can't handle the condescending, alpha attitudes. No thanks. read more

I bought a bow here and when I purchased it they told me I would get free tune up. I brought the bow back for a tube up and the guy at the counter told me I was entitled to two free tune ups and since I haven't been back to the store in quite awhile I would have to pay $35.00 so since I was there and figured I would just have to pay somewhere else anyway I would just get it done. The guy said it would take a few days I left the bow and went home half an hour later I get a call saying my bow is done I pay my $35.00 and leave. I found a new store that sells Hoyt's that offers free strings for life and won't take my money when I bring it in the have it looked at. The salesman at bear mountain behind the archery counter wasn't the friendliest guy either. The owner of this store is a good man he is concerned with customer service and he reached out to me to help me with my concerns. Any negative feelings are directed at the archery department. read more

I really don't understand the low stars people are giving this shop. They were Def helpful with adjusting my bow and the owner came out and helped me free of charge when i rented their range. I didn't purchase my bow from them and they were still very helpful. Btw it's only 3$ a hour to shoot in the back up to 20 yards. read more

They were the only shop with the gun I wanted in stock! They were reasonably priced and very knowledgeable. When I called ahead to check for availability my call was answered by a real person who answered all my questions. When I arrived in person I was greeted at the door and was directed to the items I had come to see. After purchasing the owner Ed gave me a full demo of all the moving parts and how best to clean everything. In the current climate of ammo shortages I was very impressed with the selection of ammo available. All around great place to have so close to home! I went in 30 minutes before close on a Friday, right before season started to have a new cam put on my bow. Ed helped me out right away and in about 15 minutes I was good to go. Younger staff members are rude as hell. If you go in to look at guns, your are a jerk. I recall asking a guy behind the counter if he had snap (practice) caps. He took a bite of his food, smacking with his stupid mouth wide open, stared at me like I'm the biggest a-hole he'd ever met and shook his head slowly. I had to fight the urge to clock that guy.
