The breakfast buffet looked like it would've been good but since we came at noon on Saturday, it was already ending even though people still came around 1 and they were still putting out food at the buffet, which is really nice of them! Stayed in Boerne for a wedding and came to the Bear Moon Bakery for a late breakfast. What at first appeared to be a very simple breakfast buffet was actually a perfectly executed meal that delivered on all counts. The scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly, light and fluffy. These might have been the most well made scrambled eggs I've ever had. Well-seasoned diced potatoes were savory and delicious along with the cream gravy and biscuits. Apart from the frozen sausage links, everything here had a very homemade feel that was both comforting and satisfying. I topped off my breakfast with the fresh fruit they had and grabbed a small Danish on my way back to the table. Looking back I wish I had left more room for some pastries because holy crap, my little Danish was incredible! The puff pastry was hand made for sure, it was insanely light and flakey, and I dont recall ever having anything like it before. If you're in Boerne, you'll be sorry if you don't stop in at least for a quick treat if not the whole breakfast. read more

My eggplant sandwhich was good but the oil they used soaked even the bread through in some spots- while still being delicious it was messy and i was a little embarrased to eat it in public so i took the other small half portion to go. The ginger peach tea was good but i messed it up by trying the sugar substitute sweetner leaving a nasty after taste in my mouth. I didnt enjoy the spring salad at all, i tasted none of the dressing and though it was all fresh and not iceburg i felt like a cow chewing grass. The upside to brighten my plate was the small fresh fruit they include, a thick slice of fresh orange, and a thin but decent slice of juicey watermelon. MMMMM! The food was decent enough i enjoyed it but i dont think ill be going back to eat there, however the lemon poppy seed muffin is sublime and i look forward to a future visit to explore more options- preferrably fresh ones first thing in the morning! read more

This place is really adorable but I have two specific complaints: Their pastries/bakery items are much too sugary- beautiful, but none of us can eat them since the sweetness is way over the top. And they Ignore you if you have children- no water refills, no extra napkin, no set of silverware. I've never been able to figure out what makes a snickerdoodle more than just a cinnamon sugar cookie, but theirs had it - very yellow and rich. We visited the Bear Moon bakery during our visit to Boerne for a wedding. This place got great reviews so we were excited to give it a try. Driving up it looked like a great spot, when we stepped out of the car we knew it was, the smell of freshly baked good drew is closer and closer! As we entered we were greeted with smiles and amazing baked goodness! It was hard to pass up the pastries, but we opted for the breakfast buffet. They had biscuits, eggs, grits, pancakes, oatmeal, bacon and anything else you could imagine. Everyone stuffed the mouths and bellies, mom washed it all down with mimosas. It was a delicious, but the pancakes have almonds in them ****NUTS**** my son, luckily, passed them up, but I wish they would have a sign by the pancakes to warn. They had a sign at the end of the buffet, but I didn't notice it until we sat down! The service was friendly and fast, this is a small place and it is pretty packed, but our server was very efficient. We grabbed a box of pastries on the way out and they look divine! We will be snacking on them all day! I would also like to mention that they have outdoor seating and I noticed a water bowl for doggies, y'all know I love my dog friendly restaurants! Delicious. That was an amazing breakfast sandwich! It came with lovely pickled zucchini and a bit of fruit and bonus mini muffins. We also had the ham and Swiss Parisian baguette sandwich, simple but also very memorable. Very delicious french toast with apples. You can tell they make the bread fresh on sight, it makes all the difference. Very small area for seating but I love the atmosphere. I went there for my first time but my girlfriend had been there multiple times and loved the place. Almost immediately after entering the store the lady at the register was very rude and I let it slide because everyone has a bad day every once in a while. The restaurant is small. There isn't a lot of noise and the wait staff are very attentive. We had the wedge salad which had the best dressing. We each had a sandwich served on a baguette. And we both had a cookie for dessert. So they have some delicate bakery desserts which I wish I would have tried instead. The peanut butter cookie was so good but after seeing the other options in the case I felt like I chose wrong! I think there were petit fours and they looked so good. The coffee is perfect - not too strong or bitter. After you eat, this is the perfect time to walk around the town! I would almost compare this to Luke's diner in Gilmore Girls. I could have paid for it in advance but I was going to add more items to my order. When I went back in to paid I was told it was sold because they don't hold orders. I love Bear Moon. It has a kind of Gilmore Girls vibe. Very traditional/small town with a good variety of pastries on display and a pretty decent breakfast buffet. I've never been for lunch, nor have I ordered off the menu. However, I want to talk about the Pecan Pies I ordered from them for my family's Thanksgiving dinner a few months back. Can I just say; WOW! They were so amazing that people who don't even like pecans were fighting over the last few slices. The dinner rolls I ordered were a big hit as well. As far as pastries, my husband loves their apple turnover, I prefer the berry flip, and their peanut butter cookies are incredible. We recently tried their sheet cake and it didn't disappoint. As for the buffet, it's by no means bad but it's not my first choice for breakfast/brunch in Boerne. They also make a quality latte. I do wish they had a few more gluten-free options, and at least one vegan pastry at the pastry counter. When we have people from out of town come to visit with dietary restrictions Bear Moon is off the menu, which is a shame because the vibe/ambiance really sets the tone for first time Boerne visitors. The buffet just smelled delightful, but I was on my way through town and didn't have time to sit down to eat. I got a breakfast sandwich, apple fritter and bear claw to go. The apple fritter was to die for! Big chunks of apple, moist with a touch of maple flavor. The bear claw was pleasantly sticky with a bit of maple glaze...delicious!
