Chattahoochee River view bank side property with our fruit family
    Jack T.

Tree House Review From the beginning, Pam was a great host. She gave us the walk through of our cabin and all the important highlights. She was easy to communicate with via text with any issues that came up. The cabin was pristine. We were in the great outdoors. Every morning we could hear the song birds chirping outside. Very nice rocking chairs to enjoy the morning sunrise. The porch has a cast iron gas grill which was very easy to use even for a novice. We did steak one night and it turned out great. The inside cabin has the woody outdoor decor. The curtains were held open by the glam-py tree branch fixtures. The cabin also has touches of modern convenience with flat screen TV, roku, microwave, stove top, Margarita mixer, state of the art refrigerator, and WiFi. The bathrooms were furnished with soap. Remember to bring your own shampoo and extra towels if you are staying more than 3 days. The kids favorite amenity was the spa tub that we used even in July. Additional perks was the campfire fairy garden waterfall near the cabin parking. We did s'mores 2 nights in a row. Great memories made. One evening even included live band. What a joy. I enjoyed the easy walk to the Chattahoochee River adjacent to the property where you can use their tubes to do your own easy 2.5 minute water adventure . The location is great for downtown stroll, just a short 10 minute walk to the Main Street strip. Betty's grocery store is nearby to get all your supplies you may have forgotten.

Don't stay there if you are elderly. The dogs bark all night.

When my sister told my young daughters that there was snow in the forecast for Christmas in Blue…read moreRidge, my Beach Babies begged to spend the weekend in the mountains with my family so that they could see snow for the first time. We packed up Christmas and checked into our cabin on December 23 around 415pm, unloaded all of our things and settled in for the bad weather forecasted ahead. Around 515pm on December 24, the family dog alerted us to a fire on the front porch, along the (locked) garage wall. The next 15 minutes are a blur of trying to put out the fire, find our exact location for 911 and finally realizing that we were in trouble and couldn't get out of the burning cabin. God is good, and we were able to escape safely, with only 2nd degree burns and a couple of very traumatized little girls. My car was parked in front of the house and was destroyed by the fire, along with all of our belongings and Christmas presents that were left behind. To date, Vacasa has yet to return my numerous calls regarding the fire or communicate with me regarding my losses. VRBO advised that Vacasa would refund the charges for Dec 24-25 because we were not able to stay those nights. Vacasa has not refunded that charge. Vacasa has also not covered the additional hotel charge we incurred on Christmas Eve, after we had to evacuate the property. Lindsay, from the local office in Ellijay GA contacted me directly after she was made aware of the fire and assured me that she would handle the situation and be in communication with our next steps. For 2 weeks she assured me she would provide the info as soon as she had it. One week there was an appraiser and she would get the info. The next week the appraiser hadn't been assigned. The third week following the fire, she stopped communicating. Vacasa customer service made note of all of these things, multiple times, and promised someone from another department would be in touch with me, although it is "against company policy" to share what department or contact info for such. My wallet and Samsung watch were recovered and given directly to Lindsay to return to me, although she failed to mention it when we discussed my concern for my missing wallet. Upon being informed that she was given my belongings, I contacted her with the information and asked her directly if she had my things. Fortunately, she "remembered" she did and agreed to over-night them to me. For 2 weeks she said she sent them, but couldn't tell me which service she used or provide tracking info. The 3rd week, she stopped communicating. When the sheriff's office got involved, they gave her 24hrs to "find" the postage receipt. Less than an hour later she produced my wallet and watch with the explanation that while looking for the receipt, she "found it and thought it had been sent already". I reported all of this to one of the call center reps at Vacasa, again, although I don't anticipate hearing from them.

Huge huge windows, gorgeous decor, and very relaxing for a quick family getaway. We will definitely return.

We could…read moreeasily walk to the Festhalle and down to town to walk around and eat (which was helpful because parking is limited and costs money if you're parking at the Festhalle). The owners here are lovely and very helpful! Sleeping accommodations: we stayed in the Blue Room and loved it because it has a private entrance, a fireplace, and a private bath. We could even bear the fun German music roll up the hill through our bedroom window, but it wasn't too noisy that we couldn't fall asleep! There's also parking on the premises. Breakfast accommodations: the owners made us an elaborate breakfast each morning, full of coffee, Orange juice, yogurt, eggs, toast, homemade quiche, and the best: their homemade applesauce -- which tasted like fall! Activities: we really enjoyed walking the town. There aren't many authentic German stores, mostly souvenirs shops, but there's a great Christmas store and Cuckoo clock store worth visiting. We were recommended Bodensee restaurant for authentic German food and we were not disappointed! It was delicious. The Troll Tavern is also really nice for a spot right on Chattahoochee River. The owners also recommended some hiking trails, so we did that one of the days and really enjoyed it. Habersham Winery is just down the road and also a great little spot to taste some wines and take a glass with you as you explore a trail behind their winery that takes you to a lovely overlook spot. And of course during October and September, going to the Festhalle for beers, German music, huge pretzels, and fun is a must! Apline B&B is the perfect spot for a weekend getaway and even to enjoy all the Oktoberfest festivities.

There was a large group, which made it fun. Once we got to the lower part of the castle, we found our trek wasn't quite done yet, as we needed to hike through a field and some trails in order to get to the main part, so onward we went. By the time we arrived, we could've really used some beer or mead to parch our thirst, but we couldn't find any. All of the food and beverage vendors had really long lines, so we decided to hold off until we got back in town instead. I really enjoyed the variety of vendors selling their wares. There were so many handmade items and I found a lot to be very fairly priced. My favorite part was seeing the birds of prey in addition to just soaking in all the cool costumes people came up with. All in all, it was a fun experience but not something I'd want to do in summer when it's hot when there's so much walking involved.

You could certainly go in, run around, look at the castle in 15 mins, but we wanted to understand the art, the reason behind the build and just learn a few things. Santa was there for pictures and it's neat that you can rent a room IN the castle. We weren't able to view those rooms but, I believe there are pictures online. Maybe we will come back and stay! You can't see the castle upon arrival, they take you in a bus up the hill so, I liked that it didn't ruin the surprise. They had little Tiaras for purchase and they give you a small prize when you complete the word puzzle they hand you. And event here would be cool. It would also be great if they had more drink or snacks for purchase but imagine that's in the works!! This was a costly project so, it will only get better!
