This was a horrible experience. I booked Blue Creek through Airbnb on January 29th. They approved my application same day. On Airbnb I stated that I was a student booking for a senior trip and there would be two chaperones. I did not see a minimum age booking requirement on Airbnb when booking so I booked. When I booked on Airbnb they asked for my id and I sent that in as I booked. Again, they approved same day. My trip was booked for March 13th-March 17th. On March 5th I got an email from Airbnb that they cancelled my reservation. No email from them as to why. I then called there office. The lady on the phone told me I had to be 29 years old to book. She then asked if I had any 29 years olds staying with us, because this was a school sponsored trip we did. She told me I could have one of them book it and it would be a problem. I had to them have one of the chaperones book on their website, because Airbnb blocked them from booking another person that weekend because they cancelled us so close to our date. We booked a different cabin on their website that we thought was nicer. Our chaperone booked this cabin on March 5th. On March 7th we got an email that our reservation was canceled and if we tried to book again they would contact the authorities. I was severely thrown off and confused as to what the issue was. I called them and no one answered. I left a voicemail telling them I was confused as to what happened and asking them to call me back. I then got a text message that was very passive aggressive and unprofessional. They also charged us a $100 cancellation fee when they cancelled on us! I then called them today March 10th, and spoke with the property manager, asking what happened and asking for the fee back. The guy on the phone was rude and unprofessional. He told us that the majority of people staying in the cabin needed to be over 29. (No where on their website does it say that). He then said he didn't want kids "throwing parties" at his multi million dollar properties. No parties were going to be thrown. It was a school sponsored trip with chaperones staying in the house with us. He did not care what we had to say and was very rude and unprofessional. Overall, this experience was horrible. The customer service was horrendous and their way of handling things was disgusting. We ended up getting our cancellation fee back as well as full refunds. Do not book this company they do not care!! read more

Stayed over New Year with this company in Cleveland, Georgia. Poor property maintenance, disregard renters safety, promise to fix broken amenities and don't, gives lip service to resolution without actually addressing the issues. They don't post less than stellar reviews on their website . When they responded to my review on VRBO ( who i booked with) they basically said sorry, not our fault, hate that happened but thanks for vacationing with us. There are many reputable companies out there to book with so save yourself the trouble of paying for something Bluecreek either can't or won't deliver and look elsewhere. read more

This place was super cozy and amazing. The website has all the pictures needed but I just wanted to add a couple. Perfect for a getaway in the woods. Must buy dried kiln for the fireplace and we were told we could buy it at Betty's down the street but we asked them and they had no idea what we were talking about. Review of Black Bear Creek Cabin The good: quiet location, one bed was good, the shower was fine, convenient to Helen. The bad: Two inches of leaves covered all decks and outside chairs. We had to start sweeping just to walk in. The interior was musty and a dehumidifier was loudly running. Clearly the place was not prepared for us. The couch was so broken down we had to get pillows to sit on to keep from sinking to our knees. The floor has a major soft spot going into the kitchen. The TV remote did not work and the one in the bedroom didn't even have batteries. I really wish we had chosen a different property. This cabin is neglected and in need of major repairs. read more

We stayed at the Aananda cabin its one of the newer cabins with blue creek. Getting to the cabin was pretty scary especially when your from FL where there are no mountains or even hills. The road was rocky but also a lot of dips deep dips recommend taking a 4x4 but minivan will make it. This cabin was perfect for us to relax. It had all the amenities we were looking for and the view was spectacular. The yard is the mountain going up. The beds and pillows were so soft. If you are planning to stay there for 4 plus days I recommend you bring extra toilet paper, bring a sponge and trash bags because they did not provide any extras. We stayed at the Blue Creek Cabins Absolute Serenity 1, Unit 204 for a short weekend getaway. The property is well kept. The family room furnishings are clean and comfortable. The view from the back deck is amazing watching the river flowing by. HOWEVER... IF you need a good night's sleep so you can enjoy the beautiful city of Helen and all it has to offer, bring your own blow-up mattress to sleep on. We have traveled the world and have never, at any time, had such poor "sleeping" accommodations with regard to mattress bedding. The sofas would provide better rest. Hopefully, the owners/management would attempt sleeping here to experience the body pains we now have as a result of our stay here. Accommodations for a massage should be included with your stay! read more

The physical structure of the house was lovely but the interior not so much. To start after a long day of driving we unloaded our vehicle before checking the inside. The house was dirty, clean glassware had traces of lip marks and dishes had remnants of food. The leather sofa and loveseat in the living room while in its day was wonderful now the seating was totally broken down. Foam was shot and springs were totally broken down. The most comfortable seating was a wooden dining room chair. The master mattress had a foam mattress pad on top of the mattress (king size) and all of this was zipped inside of a mattress cover, making rearranging the pad and mattress awkward and annoying. The pad traveled across the mattress each time the bed was used. Unfortunately we did not inspect before unpacking as I mentioned so these things turned up gradually. The last discovery was a dirt ring in the top floor bathtub. Needless to say we were very disappointed with the cabin especially considering the we paid a lot of money for our stay. Probably should have called the office earlier but didn't have the will to pack up and move if that was even an option. It was on us that we didn't inspect in the beginning but that has never been something that I've had to do and wasn't expecting this to be any different. Didn't notice that over half of the screens were missing until we opened the windows. As I said it was late and we'd been on the road since 5:30 am. In summary I mistakenly assumed for the high rental fees we paid that the house would be comfortable and clean thus leaving us with a wonderful memory for our family. Long story short: -Booked a cabin on Blue Creek's website for a really low price *8 months ago* -Signed contract, paid 50% of total to reserve cabin. -Got confirmation email for my trip saying cabin was reserved and all paperwork completed. Fast forward to now: -Blue Creek calls to tell me they sold the cabin I'd paid to reserve. -Also that *I was paying too little to stay there anyway* even though it was confirmed 8 months prior and bought on their own website. -Am told I will be sent a list of other available cabins at a discounted rate. All cabins on the sent list are at least +300% the original price. -I ask that the price when contract was signed 8 months ago to be honored, even if it was a mistake on their end. -I ask for a better deal than having me pay triple to stay in an alternative cabin -Blue Creek didn't budge at all and instead canceled my stay and broke their own contract. Office staff was rude pretty much the whole time. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. Greedy Company, Doesn't care about its Customers, Won't honor their own contract or own up to mistakes. read more

We rented Deer Haven 3 bedroom cabin. There are 3 stories- the screened porch with hot tube on 1st floor basement . Bring bug spray because the "screen is a very loose term" The stairs leading down were very rickety and not very safe. During our three night - we saw bugs inside house and a dead mouse.Eek The floor cleanliness was bad. Our pup would go snooping coming back once with a pill bottle and again with someones underwear?! The slate stairs outside need serious repair- pieces Would break off and slip while walking down.. Pros? Kitchen very clean and equipped . Nice grill and very comfy beds and sheets. Would probably stay with Blue Creek again just not this cabin. read more

The management is just awful! Charged me a pet fee and a cleaning fee and then charged me extra for having to vacuum up the pet hair. So what is the pet deposit and cleaning fee for? And charging extra for having to sweep and vacuum, shouldn't you be doing that anyway? If you stay in a cabin and bring your pet, make sure you bring a vacuum so that you can clean everything even though you paid a pet deposit and cleaning fee. The cabins are pretty close together, not secluded as the site leads you to believe. Our neighbors had a very loud party making our stay anything but relaxing. People were also shooting guns and riding four wheelers. Also, I don't recommend getting the fishing package. The "stocked trout pond" is ridiculously small. If another family is there at the same time as you, you will be crossing fishing lines with them on a regular basis. And the pond is under stocked. Took us forever to catch anything and the fish we caught were very small; and you cannot catch and release so we were stuck with fish so small you couldn't do anything with them. When we arrived at the Deer Haven cabin everything looked and smelled clean. After being there for a bit we realized the clean smell was just an air freshener. The bedding was visibly dirty with no other replacement options. I can deal with a lot but I draw the line at dirty bedding. The cabin we rented sunset Lake is completely isolated from town or any other cabins. It was about 15 minutes to Helen. We arrived to find the cabin 80 degrees and too warm to stay that evening. We went to Helen and returned around 10:00 to find tv had no signal and cabin still having a problem cooling down. Property manager tried to fix tv, no luck, and blamed cleaning staff for leaving air set too high. There were lots of bugs in upstairs bathroom. On Sunday morning, day we check out, dish tv guy bangs on the door at 8:00 am waking us up to fix tv. It was very uncomfortable having this strange man in the cabin with 3 women showering and packing. He was there until 1:00 pm! I made owner aware of issues and no one has reached out to me or seemed to care about these concerns. Plenty of other rentals in area, go with someone else. read more

This place was amazing. The reservation process was easy and stress free. This pretty well explains our whole visit STRESS FREE. The cabin had everything we could need with the exception of a working can opener. which was not even a problem. the cabin was beautiful and provided more then enough space for our family. This is a annual fathers day /birthday trip we normally take to helen . We are so glad we decided to stay in cabin instead of cramping in hotels in helen. Our kids loved it . the drive to tube in helen was easy and quick. we spent the day tubing came back to the cabin to grill dinner on the grill and then off to sight see and listen to the bands play that night . The beds options were perfect for our teenagers and enough room for the toddlers to run and play. We will definitely make this our first option every year. We are ready to book it for next year. The dirt road to the cabin was bumpy but made for some interesting stories. Our cabin was pet friendly and our old pup loves sitting on the porch watching the squirrels. The customer service was great , we called on the way up from savannah to see if we could have early check in and was greeted by a more then helpful staff. After trying to reach the office for 2 days as no one ever answers the phones, the booking manager called me and hung up because the booking manager couldn't get to someplace with good reception. The booking manager didn't call back that evening despite me emailing and calling her again. The next morning I call and their phones aren't working. Still no one has made any effort to reach out to me. I finally call again and someone finally answers at the office to say the cabin that I was calling to book (which was available two days ago) is now booked. We arrived at our cabin (which was alone and not with any of their other cabins) in the late afternoon as rain began to fall. As it soon became a strong thunderstorm, knocking the power off, the cabin was dark before we had gotten our bearings. We could find only 2 tiny candles and the base of a small kerosene lamp in the cabin. We had no kerosene or matches, the batteries in our flashlight were fading fast, and we could find no emergency contact numbers in the cabin other than the Blue Creek manager's number. Although we tried the number many times that evening and the next morning, we could only leave a message. Needing basic supplies just to see enough to settle in and sleep, we drove to Helen where we paid royally for fresh batteries, 2 ornamental candles, matches, and lamp oil. When we returned we found that the 2 cabin candles were useless and the wick of the lamp was so old that it would not stay lit. Our party of four really had only our small flashlight to navigate two very unfamiliar floors in total darkness. To top it off, some mice or rodents had fun scurrying around in the inner walls and floor that night, as well as those that followed. Our visit was not off to a great start, but we were excited when we awoke the next morning and could see enough to unpack. After the power came back on about 8:45 AM, the manager finally returned our calls, saying he was calling the power company! That was our only actual conversation with him. Unfortunately, we lost some of the food we brought to the cabin, including perishables due to the power outage and several boxes of cereal that the mice/rodents or roaches that were sharing the accommodations with us seemed to enjoy. At the end of our visit, we left a note for the management detailing the need for emergency supplies, emergency contact information, and rodent and roach treatment. Hearing nothing from Blue Creek Cabins, we also sent an email a few days after our return home. This time we did get a rude and quick response, chastising us and excusing Blue Creek of all responsibility. While we certainly understand that storms are exceptional and are out of the resort's control, the management was remote, unresponsive, and frustrating to deal with in circumstances that were difficult for us. While we received no compensation for our additional expenses, if Blue Creek cabins now have a few basic emergency supplies and information then something good will have come from this! Had there been no management issues, rodent problems, and roach problems, the cabin would have been great. As a result of their management, when we return to NE Georgia we will not call Blue Creek to book one of the many cabins available in the area. read more

We were surprised to find the very dated condo. The neighbors were doing construction next door and had debris in the hall. This was not the worst. The housekeeper left cigars and cigarettes all over the deck. When we called for them to do their job they said if we didn't wait for them they would charge US a trip charge. Really? The management threatened us with a trip charge if we didn't wait?? The paperwork is full of rules and requirements. A truly horrible experience. I will never return. We recently stayed at Blue Creek Cabins. We stayed at Sauna on the creek. It was a quiet cabin not too far from Helen about 10 min away. The cabin was very roomy and our teenage daughters loved the game room downstairs on the lower level. While we were roasting marshmallows a deer walk by within about 25 yards. If I had to say anything negative it would have to be the beds. They were not that comfortable, I guess I'm used to my tempurpedic mattress. I give this cabin 4 stars. Maybe you can go and enjoy like we did. read more

I don't recommend dealing with Blue Creek Cabins!! I recently rented a house with out-of -town friends for a weekend away. Though they advertised Wifi, an outdoor hot tub and cable, when we showed up, both the cable and internet were out. I needed to send a few last work emails before relaxing, so this was a big issue. After we called the front desk to ask how to get the internet working, they told us to call At&t and resolve the issue ourselves (exactly what I like to do on my vacation!) After over an hour on the phone, my boyfriend was informed that At&t was not, after all the internet provider for this house. So we call Blue Cabins back, and they finally told us the correct provider. Another hour spent on the phone and still no internet. Finally Blue Creek sends out a serviceman who was great and fixed our cable and internet. So fine, this issue was resolved. All of us had been really looking forward to getting in the outdoor hot tub to relax. There was information on Blue Creek's site that said be sure to turn the heat on when you arrive and give the hot tub time to heat up. We waited and waited and the hot tub was still ice cold. So we informed the Blue Creek people the next day when we woke up and the hot tub was still cold, that it was having problems. We went into Helen at this point. When we returned at 5pm, no one had come to service the hot tub. We called back and they said they had informed the owner of the house to get a repairman. Hours later the hot tub repairman shows up. He said he didn't even get the call to service the hot tub until that evening. Then we go the real story from the repairman. He said that this hot tub was and has been broken. He had come out recently to repair the hot tub and had told the owner that they needed a $200 part to fix it, and that the owner had declined to have it fixed. The repairman advised the owner to inform future renters that the hot tub was broken and give a discount on the rental, but the owner decided to ignore this fact. So we called Blue Creek Cabins....again. At this point we were leaving the next day and had spent half the weekend on the phone dealing with their issues. And let me mention this house was not cheap at all. If I had wanted to deal with red tape all weekend, I could have stayed home! I told Blue Creek that we needed some reimbursement of our rental fee for all the headaches, and that I was very unhappy that they knowingly rented a house with a broken hot tub without informing the guests. The hot tub was the big seller for us, and we could have rented a 100 other houses with working hot tubs. Blue Creek blamed the owner and offered us a free extra night stay in the house. We declined, as we had to go back to work on Monday. I spoke Blue Creek the next week, and they offered us a $40 refund for our troubles. $40 refund!!!!!!! I told them that was absolutely unacceptable, and that we should be refunded one night's stay (especially since they offered us a free night.) They declined and put me off repeatedly. After numerous phone calls and emails, they finally offered us $100 refund; which was still well below the fee for one night's stay. I told them no, that we wanted a full night's stay refund. After avoiding me for another few days, they said that that was all we were getting. Tired of arguing, we took the $100. Awful experience...go ANYWHERE but here!!! read more

I would like to start off by saying that this company is unprofessional and dishonest to say the least. We saw pictures that by the way are very outdated of a really nice cabin on their website and booked it for our Family Vacation. We drove a long way and when we got to the cabin we saw a "For Sale" sign on the property and when we walked in it was very dirty and full of dog hair everywhere. Some of the utensils were dirty with cake batter on them (Disgusting!) The bathrooms showers had nasty mildew on them we had to put bleach to disinfect. The washer had a strong and foul odor we had to do a clean cycle and even that didn't help. The dryers were full of dog hairs really poor maintenance. On one of the bedrooms it looked like there were bed bugs because one of our family members slept on it and was itching the entire night and woke up with a rash on his upper arms and his back side. The stairwells are very hazardous since they had large nails sticking out on the hand rails and slippery when wet from the rain. This place is not kid or elderly friendly at all. It's no wonder this property is for sale. I called up Blue Creek and we spoke to someone who at first was nice but then seem to get rude and would talk over us and not let us explain. At one point she said that there wasn't anything else that she could do and just hung up the phone. Really unprofessional and no lack of feelings towards their Paying customers. I really tried to be patient but with the amount of money that we paid we should had have had better Customer Service and just a little more compassion. I only stayed there 1 night my family could not bare and stay there another day. Blue Creek could not accommodate us into another cabin and did offer to refund us half of the money but in reality due to the circumstances being their fault they should have refunded us most of the money and not just half. I don't think that it was fair and justifiable from their part knowing that they did not deliver to expectations. Bottom line I have rented many cabins throughout the United States from different Cabin Rental Companies and I have never ever seen such a bad company as this one I would not recommend using this dishonest Cabin Rental Company to anyone. read more

The Deer Crossing Cabin had bed bugs, and they have terrible customer service, in the way of Sam, the family member who handles that. They did nothing to compensate us for the problems they caused, and were arrogant, suggesting that we BROUGHT the bed bugs with us! Save your money, time and effort and find another cabin. Arrogant! Stayed in the cabin called "Helen Ga on my mind". I have always enjoyed this part of Ga since I was a small boy in the 80s. This is one of about 15 cabins I have stayed in over the past 25 years. I have to say I would not recommend this cabin to anyone in its current state. When I (with my family) arrived Friday afternoon it was about 80 degrees inside the cabin. The air was off of'course so I turned it on.....6 hours later it was 79.5 degrees, and I realized it wasn't working. The first night was hot and humid, didn't sleep well. There were also mouse droppings in every corner and under every piece of furniture downstairs, there were several scorpions crawling around inside. Since the air wasn't working we opened the slide glass door on the upstairs porch which is completely screened in, so it was partially my fault when my wife screamed when she saw the 2ft rat snake crawling in the bedroom.... But had the air been working I wouldn't have had to leave the door open in the first place. Now I am not being a crybaby about all the pests and wildlife, I understand that I am in the mountains and in nature, however, after paying 500.00 for a weekend I do expect some amount of comfort. Between the broken ac, rat droppings and scorpions, a snake in the bedroom......I might as well have been camping out for free. The view was ok, mostly blocked by the backyard trees. Definitely will never stay at this one again. They need new ac and a good pest control company for starters. read more

Unfortunately our cabin (Sunset Lake Cabin) was not the "luxurious" cabin they state online. When we arrived we opened up the door to a 1950's gold fabric couch and matching chair, unlike the leather couch pictured online. If that wasn't shocking enough, we called Blue Creek Cabins to tell them about it. She said the other couch broke and that's all they could find. We asked for a different cabin (because we paid a lot for this "luxurious" cabin) she couldn't do that. We asked for a refund, no we can't do that. We asked for a discount, we can't do that. We finally pushed and she said she'd call the owner and then call us back. Six days later, we're still waiting for that call. Then onto the hard and uncomfortable beds, dead bugs everywhere, sand in the hot tub, scratched and beat up wood floors, and outdated decor, drapes and pictures. The list goes on, but you hopefully get the idea. If they would have worked with us then my review would be different. Unfortunately, they had our money and that was it. Very disappointed. I would not recommend this cabin (Sunset Cabin) nor Blue Creek Cabins due to the lack of customer service. read more

My family and I stayed in The Garden House for my wedding. Behind the Garden House is a breathtaking view of a creek, gardens, gorgeous trees and to my surprise chickens! The property is very well taken care of! Now the cabin itself is no 5 star hotel, the cabin was cleaned before we came however I still felt like it was a bit dirty. Bed was a tad outdated. Pros of this cabin is it is stocked with cooking utensils, cups, plates, bug spray, paper towels. WARNING:There are stairs in the cabin for all you people with toddlers. My kids 3 and 12 spend the entire time outside and loved finding leaves and rocks. The owner of the property gave my kids a tour of the garden and even gave us fresh chicken eggs they absolutely LOVED IT. There are several trails to walk. We took one and it let us to the coolest secluded flowing stream and creek. My 12 year old never wanted to stop exploring as there is just so much to see! We had the best time. Each year we gather from states as far away as AZ as a family and friends Christmas getaway. It is the one time of year we see each other. There are 5 couples ranging in age 70 to 39. We start looking for the perfect cabin in the North Georgia mountains around June to ensure it's the best we can find. We decided to give Blue Creek a try this year mainly because our favorite in town cabin is no longer a rental property. The ad indicated 5 bedroom 3 bath, tv in each room. So....I want to give perspective renters a better idea of the cabin layout. Main floor has open floor plan which is nice. The property management co had done a super job with an artificial Christmas tree and other decorations in this room! Master bedroom has a king bed and great bathroom with big walk in shower and jacuzzi tub. This bath is accessible from living area as well so can be used by others and bedroom can be closed off. Above that is a smaller bedroom with shower tub and queen bed. Now for the not so great part. The downstairs or basement has 3 bedrooms and one bath with walk in shower. One bedroom has tv and is right across hall from the bathroom. The other two downstairs bedrooms have no windows, and are fairly small. They both have a queen bed and heaters are provided in the room to help warm the area. These rooms are so dark they are like being in a sensory deprivation chamber! If you like dark places you will love these rooms. Bring something warm to wear to bed! We ran into a few problems while we were there and I can't say enough about how accommodating The property management company was. They responded immediately and fixed everything that went wrong which wasn't a lot. This was not the perfect cabin for five couples a custom to their own bedroom with TV/private bath. We knew what we ordered and we are not displeased. Again had the property management company not been so responsive we would have been disappointed. There is a nice charcoal grill, a fire pit outside and ample parking.Cooking utensils are scarce as in many rental properties but adequate. There is a wood-burning fireplace in the living room which was nice. If you go in the summer and are considering writing a motorcycle please reconsider it is not motorcycle friendly. We had a freak snowstorm while we were there. The roads are tricky in and out but these were extreme circumstances. Four-wheel-drive is not a must but came in handy this time.The cabin we stayed in is their largest. We would stay with this company again if they had a cabin more suitable to our needs. Again, we do appreciate all that they did for us during our stay. We had a great gathering. Keep in mind that splitting the bill five ways equally will not work. As the three couples in the downstairs do not have the same accommodations. read more

My family and I went to stay at the Deer Crossing Blue Creek cabin this past weekend.We absolutely loved it.It was our first time staying in a cabin and it was like being in paradise.We saw 5 deer crossing the road while we were there.We loved the way the cabin was decorated.We loved everything about our cabin NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL.My special needs daughter loved the big spacious jacuzzi bathtub.She played like it was her own swimming pool and did not want to get out.We slept very comfortable in our King size bed with her in the middle.Still very spacious.We did not want to leave.We will definitely be back some time I hope very soon. read more

Absolutely loved the cabin!! The cabin we were in was secluded from the road and all we had was the soothing sound of nature. Came equipped with everything you could need for a good away. The cabins were clean and very nice I would recommend this anyone and everyone. read more

We stayed at "Helen GA on My Mind" for New Years and had a fabulous vacation! We felt like we were at home and didn't want to leave! The view of the mountain is beautiful and the whole community (Panorama Estates) is gorgeous! We cannot wait to book again next year! We enjoyed walking around the little town of Helen, touring the many wineries, the State Park . . . The cabin itself was great - it had everything we could even ask for. The outside deck/patio area is beautiful and we made a fire in the chiminea every night. Easy check in / easy check out. Blue Creek Cabins was very easy to deal with (whether it was by email or phone). Stopped at Ingles (food store) when we got there and was able to stock the house with everything needed for the week.
