I used to frequent this coffee shop quite a bit with a friend of mine who was attending school nearby, and initially was pleased because of the atmosphere. Comfortable seating, quiet, and a friendly barista. However after many visits my feelings for this quaint coffee shop grew just about as bitter as their coffee. I had high hopes because I really wanted to like this place but the quality of their coffee was always average at best and their food selection poor. The dealbreaker was definitely the manager (owner?), though. He had a very rude attitude on more than one occasion, and would even shut the wifi off after an hour, I'm assuming as a tactic to get me to leave the store. I did, and never went back. Lovely little joint at the corner of Iliff and Peoria in the front strip of stores by Cost Cutters. Good coffee and at a good price. Also a nice atmosphere. Staff are friendly and remember you if you frequent the shop. You can also try almost any brew you're curious about and may not be ready to pull the trigger on. That's nice. It can get congested, however. And a little noisy if you choose to stick around during busy hours - early/mid morning or lunch time/early afternoon. Parking can be limited, but there's plenty more behind the building not more than 20-30 yards away. read more

Oh super cute little shop they've got going on here. I think my hunt for a perfect local coffee shop might have ended here at Bean Tree Coffee. Coffee tastes great, and even if you're not a fan of coffee they've got plenty of other options for you as well. They even have boba here which is a pleasant little surprise. For snacks they've got a variety of desserts and ice cream. So this is one of those places you can both quench your thirst and quell that angry stomach as well. They've got the usual free and fast wifi which is exactly what I was looking for in a coffee. They have plenty of seating and plenty of electrical outlets for all your electronic gadgets. I think they even had board games in the back, so it really is a pretty good spot to either chill with some friends or get some alone time work done. Definitely gonna keep this place in mind next time I wanna get out the house and do some work. read more

Love this coffee joint and felt so lucky to live so close. Not a lot of coffee places open late (or at least later than dinner) in Denver and so finding something to do besides from going to a bar doesn't leave us a lot of options. The thing with Bean Tree is that it's not only opened late, it's not a loud, obnoxious place. You can actually sit down, enjoy your coffee, have a chat with a friend AND hear yourself think. The patrons I've seen every time I've been there are always courteous, mostly students studying. They do tend to run out of coffee as it gets closer to 11. Or you can just order a fancier americano type coffee where they make it out of espresso. I kinda love that they also have ice cream. It's a great after dinner / late snack shop. Oh, and free wi-fi for customers = happy me. Funny side note, don't worry about safety at that store. Every time I've been there late, there are always a bunch of cops there hanging out. I'm talking about at least 5 of them sitting either outside with their coffee or inside at the couch. So no worries about a rowdy crowd. read more

I've come here twice & both times the service was friendly/prompt. Their coffee is alright & their milk teas are meh/whatever. They have milk tea & boba but many of them taste powder based. I used to work @ a boba shop when I was a teenager & I come from a city where boba & milk tea is plentiful so my standards for milk tea are that: 1) the tea's fresh 2) minimal usage of powders/syrups for flavor. They also serve ice cream that tastes fine but it's not something you'd go out of your way for. I think this spot makes for a great hangout/meet-up spot. I've seen some study here but I feel like the joint's too small for studying because every table there is close to the register so you'll be overhearing every transaction as you study. However, the place never gets too crowded so maybe that wont be a big concern. read more

After venturing from Chinese food I started to pheen for chocolate so walked into the unchartered BeanTree Coffee. Greeted by the friendly girl when walking in the door and hearing some locals crack some jokes I knew it was a good place. I got an espresso brownie which is made somewhere local as well as the other treats they have. Their coffee beans are roasted in boulder and they have waffles and frozen yogurt too. There's a good amount of outlets for those who want to get online and they are open til midnight and 2 am on Friday and saturdays. This strong espresso brownie is keeping me jacked up. I love having this coffee shop right near where I live, on the way to work. It's kinda dangerous on my wallet, but I love it anyhow. Have you tried their frozen bear? OMG. It is addicting. It's just a frozen blended espresso/vanilla drink. Ask for the toffee nuts on top. They are bomb. I could eat more than 2 a day. But as I'm looking out for my ever-growing stomach, I try to limit myself. They also have some pretty yummy coffee/syrup/lattes! As well as their baked goods are pretty decent/ok. And the service is awesome. I always have a nice conversation with whoever happens to be the barista that day. They always listen and are cool with customizing the drinks for you. Very chill environment. Free board games to play. Had the snow lychee and the snow mango. Both were a tad too sweet. Gotta remember to 1/2 sugar next time. I asked for no boba and hubby had double boba. Some of the boba was a light brown (I know, wierd, right?) & he didn't think it tasted right. Great coffee beans unfortunately after standing in line for ten min and never even getting to order was frustrating. This place is habitually understaffed. I'm sure the barista was doing his best but they simply need more staff, he was working on an order of 10 specialty drinks, unfortunately there was no one to continue taking orders or hand out food that was already prepared. The best thing about this shop is the tatted girl behind the counter. She is extremely helpful, very kind and super accommodating. Wonderful customer service, and for that BeanTree gets 2 stars. However, I didn't even drink a fourth of my drink -- it just wasn't good. My husband's breakfast burrito was soggy and over microwaved. My bagel, upon warming, was too hard to eat. I usually stop by here for casual afternoon dates, as a quiet place to study for an exam, or when I'm just craving a royal milk tea boba. I love that it is local and the quality of their drinks are top-notch. The coffee and tea are both really good; from what I recall the tea is of a high quality brand too. The availability of pastries and gluten-free and organic items are also a plus! The baristas are knowledgeable as well as quick and efficient, and have a smile on their faces every time I stop by. Cute little Korean owned coffee shop! The baristas I've encountered have always been very nice and cordial to me and my friends... the owner is pretty stoic, which can be mistaken for rude, but I've never seen him be anything but quiet and hardworking. When he's behind the counter when someone's ordering from the barista he always gets right on starting the drink. I don't order plain coffee so I can't speak to the quality of that, but they make amazingly delicious specialty drinks. Take the white chocolate chai: sweet and creamy, not completely authentic but still yummy with a pleasant note of cinnamon. Another favorite is the Cola Bear, which is not on the menu but is pure caffeine deliciousness and VERY addictive: Coke, espresso, and ice coffee. At $3 for a Starbucks venti size cup that's not bad! They also make it with diet Coke but you have to specify. Pastries are good, especially their loaf cakes which are moist and satisfying with a hot drink. Ice cream is also good. Overall a great place to hang out with friends! I do agree with a prior review that having a bunch of smokers right at the entrance isn't pleasant but it doesn't detract from my actual experience inside. read more

I can appreciate a place that keeps the menu to 4-6 items, all espresso, with a minimalist atmosphere. Those kind of places me feel like a proper hipster, and usually serve exquisite coffee. But I gotta be real, and its hard to admit, sometimes you want some Ice Cream, Boba Tea, or a Marshmallow-rainbow-carmel-sunshine-EvenLiberaceWouldFindThisExcessive-Mocha-Frap-Latte. No credit card machine, muffin was old and soggy, and people smoking outside the coffee shop had smoke coming into the shop so it smelt like coffee and cigarettes. Ick- the coffee was ok- nothing fancy or worth going back for, and the inside of the shop is cute and perfect for a couple hours of work on the computer or reading; however the smoking and lack of better food will make me pick a different location of I'm looking to stay awhile. I wonder if this place has new management or new staff, because previous reviews were great. I wish I had the same experience! read more

The latest entry into the competitive espresso market is no "Perky Cups" but that might just be its strongest attribute. Some of you may remember that previous establishment, infamous for its bikini-clad baristas, an owner that resembled any number of "wise guys" from "The Sopranos," and the steamy ambience of pheromones and "sexpresso." With such a "stacked" combination of "attributes," how could Perky Cups possibly have failed?? It's simple: their coffee and espresso products tasted like vintage 1946 crankcase sludge. Face it: no matter how "impressive" the service is, most coffee customers come for, well, good tasting coffee. Thankfully, Perky Cups' successor has chosen to forsake all the glitz and focus on the fundamentals. BeanTree Coffee's strength is its smooth, caramelly espresso, personable staff (who admit to being quite attached to their clothing), affordable price (about 30 cents cheaper than Starbucks for an Americano), and incentives galore. Not only do they provide complimentary wi-fi, they give you a free beverage for a gift card purchase, and they also do the punch-card deal too! As Peaberry's successor in spirit, they have the Polar and Frozen Bears if you were a fan of those. And finally, they carry my favorite dessert product that Starbucks stopped selling long ago: espresso chip brownies! Unlike Perky Cups where, ironically enough, you couldn't get your "java after dark," BeanTree is open from 5am all the way to midnight on weekdays, and even later on weekends. However, they run out of the tapioca that goes into making Boba well before they close. Are you kidding me?! Make enough to last the day! This is the SECOND time this has happened. This is my favorite coffee shop because they have exceptional service. There aren't many choices of coffee shops in Aurora so this quickly became my go to coffee shop. The girls (and guy) who work there are so sweet and friendly and they know every customer by name, even if you're not a regular. I am a student so my criteria for a coffee shop are good coffee (as well as boba, check), reasonable amount of noise (check), and fast enough internet to get my school work done (check). My only complaint is that they don't serve food because I usually camp out there to get all my work done. But I usually pack a lunch. Finally if you are going there to get work done, stay away on Sunday mornings. There's a huge and loud family that are always there and you won't get much done. read more

This place is fabulous! I bought 2 large butterbeer coffees and a black & white cookie for just a few cents over $10! That kicks Starbucks's butt! There was a couple that ordered a waffle and it smelled amazing! They have so many choices that it really makes you keep coming back. Everything here is delicious!!
