There is a menu with very odd and unique drinks so make sure you pick one that satisfies your taste. My girls took a minute asking the barista questions on what they should pick out of the menu. This is a cute neighborhood coffee shop that I found out about because of the stand they set up at the Uptown Farmers Market. The parking lot is off of a little side alley next to and behind the building. The vibe of the place was a bit retro and midcentury modern because of some of the decor. It seemed a little understaffed when I went - the barista was also the cashier. He was very nice, though he needed to run to the back to ask about the flavor of one of their pastries. I ordered a cappuccino, which was very good, but it was way too hot to drink (I had to wait a good 10-15 minutes for it to cool down). To eat, I ordered a gluten free brown sugar pop-tart. I probably would go with the regular (non- gluten free) version in the future because the pastry was hard and tough. read more

Exceptional new specialty coffee shop! They take their pour over game seriously. Even have a Yama tower for cold brew. I ordered their Nicaragua and it was chocolaty but clean and balanced. Gaby was super knowledgeable and the greatest vibes. Worth a drive to visit and will definitely be a regular. read more

I was at the Wednesday uptown farmers market where I had the pleasure of enjoying a pourover from Blake. As he prepared my pourover, I watched as he made sure to get the water temp perfect for my cup of coffee- ground the beans fresh to order, and took the time to understand what I enjoyed in a cup of coffee before recommending one of his offerings. I went with a light roast Sumatran if I remember correctly. Chocolate tones, some up front brightness, some sweet, plum/fig like flavor and sweetness as it cooled, it was a great cup of coffee. We got to talk a little about his journey to production scale coffee roasting and as a hobbyist home roaster, it was a really cool experience. I didn't get to visit the Cafe before I left to go back home, but next time I surely will. There is care and thought in everything Beal Beans does and you can taste it. read more

I stopped by Beal Beans in Sunnyslope and had a great experience. I ordered an iced cortado and avocado toast, and both the drink and the atmosphere really stood out. The iced cortado was perfect - the espresso was strong, dark, and flavorful with the ideal ratio of milk and ice. It's surprisingly hard to find a place that balances an iced cortado this well, but they nailed it. After I finished my toast, I ended up ordering another to go! I also loved the vibe of the shop. This place is close to my neighborhood and I have been wanting to stop in and give it a try. It is very welcoming with a good cafe/coffee house type of vibes. They have a detailed menu that hits any type of thirst you have. I had the pour over coffee (there are quite a few bean types to choose from). We also had the iced mint tea. What a charming cozy local coffee roaster! Inside is small but very cute and gives me old school vibes. We went near closing and didn't realize it. We ordered pour overs: The Nicaragua natural, La Bastilla Estate. Flavor profile of: dark chocolate, cane sugar, and blueberry. Solid cup of coffee. I was so impressed with the service! I am definitely a snob/picky how I have my pour overs so having them in to go cups is a big NOPE to me. However the barista was so sweet there and wanted us to enjoy the coffee and actually get the best experience. Despite being almost closed she served them in glass mugs. I know what you are thinking, I did not request that. She didn't mine staying longer. I also didn't mind coming back to come back to experience the coffee, so this meant a lot to us. This is good old fashion top notch service! This is a small coffee roaster and look forward to trying more of their pour overs. It's family owned and they roast where they serve. I love the smell of freshly roasted coffee (they were roasting while we were there). I definitely want to also try their seasonal specials. I especially want to try the pomegranate tonic and the sugar plum fairy! They both sound so delicious! I'll be back for sure! I definitely recommend! Come stop by and give them a visit . Beal Beans has been selling their beans at markets for a while, but their coffee shop in Sunnyslope is new! One thing to note is parking in the back is probably a better plan because I parked in front and having to back out into the street when leaving was a little scary haha. It's really cute I love the exterior and the inside is very nice and clean as well. Drip coffee is their thing but they also have all the regular drinks you'd find at a coffee shop and seasonal specials. I got a drink called a lemon drop which has espresso and citrus flavors and I don't even know what all it had, but it tasted like a fancy mocktail with espresso. The owner was super nice. I noticed they even had a few kids toys in a box there so I'll have to bring my son sometime! The only downside was that my drink was over $11. They don't have prices listed on their specials menu so maybe I should have asked. And I know it's like a higher quality beverage but that still seems insane. I'll come back but maybe just as a once in a while thing with it being expensive as it is. Glad I checked it out! read more

I had my first real latte at Beal Beans on Sunday morning. It changed my life. It set the tone for my Sunday immediately. And this is to say nothing of the vibes of Beal Beans! I ordered an iced salted maple rosemary (one of the fall specials) and it was divine! Not only that, but our barista was so kind and fun! The shop is small, cozy, welcoming, and gorgeous.
