The food and the Avion were great as well as the Service. And the owners are very friendly and helpful.

I visited Beacon & Buoy last night with my husband and two daughters for a family dinner, and it was a wonderful evening from start to finish. We began with cocktails, wine, and beer. My daughter had the Paper Plane, a delicious cocktail. We shared the burrata appetizer, which was generous enough for all four of us and a great way to start. For dinner, we each tried something different. The buttermilk fried chicken is a signature dish, and it should be--crispy, flavorful, and delicious. The braised short ribs were tender and full of flavor. The mussels were cooked perfectly; I personally prefer larger mussels, but these were still delicious. And the Canja was a pure delight, a comforting porridge of chicken and farro, especially delicious paired with a side of fried green tomatoes. Yum! The atmosphere may have been my favorite part. The vibe is laid-back and welcoming, with lovely décor and lighting. The tables are spaced far enough apart that you can actually enjoy a conversation, and the whole room has a comfortable flow. The bar sets the tone as soon as you walk in, and the staff was wonderful throughout the evening. Co-owner Tony made the experience especially welcoming, taking time to move through the room and chat with guests. At the end of dinner, my daughter said to Tony, "We don't go out much, but we will definitely be back." I think that says it all. I'm already looking forward to returning. I can see the bar becoming a cozy spot for a cocktail and a small bite this fall and winter. Congratulations to Chef Melissa and Tony. Welcome to Chatham! You've created something special. Was going to do some shopping in Chatham and decided to look for a breakfast place before we started. I checked YELP and was pleased to find Beacon & Buoy. Especially since you can pull up and park in their parking lot. (A very nice to have!!) We walked in and stood in line to order with the host. We were given a number for servers to bring order to our table. The wait for our food was a little long but there were a few large parties already sitting at tables. In all honesty the wait was SO VERY worth it since our food was absolutely marvelously delicious. I will definitely come back for the short rib breakfast the next time we come to Chatham. The coffee was very good too. They kept filling our cups which was a nice touch. Highly recommend Beacon & Buoy if youre ever in the area! read more

I ordered the fried chicken special today. Food was fine but this place is as overpriced as the concept that it replaced. Maybe the real estate is just that expensive? A single boneless skinless chicken thigh and an order of fries. That's it. $21...like are you kidding me? If that's a $1.50 in food cost I would be shocked. I've lived on the Cape for years and am used to restaurants that price gouge but this struck me as noteworthy. read more

Dined at Beacon & Buoy last night. Great spot! The room is nicely laid out and decorated - with sound-absorbing ceiling tiles and carpeting that makes casual conversation easy. Much appreciated since we don't like to yell at each other! Started at the welcoming bar with a glass of wine. The restaurant was pretty full, so we waited a bit but happy with our wine and conversation. When seated, our lovely server brought us water and menus. 2 of our party ordered seared scallops, 1 strip steak, and I ordered mussels. There were three choices of mussels on the menu: pesto, curry, and white wine. I had the white wine. We ordered a starter of goat cheese croquettes that came with "greens". For dessert, Baked Cape Cod - a take-off on Baked Alaska. Everything was served on time and everything we had was delicious! The owner (who was also the bartender) stopped by our table to check on us. Our server was very attentive and on hand for anything we needed. The Dessert was a real treat - and delivered to our table by the Executive Chef (also the bartender's wife!). Highly recommend Beacon & Buoy. We have visited Beacon & Buoy for breakfast, lunch, and dinner since it opened, and every meal has been excellent. The menu is creative and features fresh, locally sourced seafood and other quality ingredients. One standout was the bluefish cheeks, which were spectacular and unlike anything I had seen on a menu before. They were supplied by local Chatham fishermen. That is just one of many wonderful items available. Beacon & Buoy also offers convenient beach-basket lunches. The service is outstanding, the prices are competitive, and there is plenty of parking. Restaurant only about 2 weeks old. Owner was very friendly and made a point to go to every table to greet diners. Waitress was also very sweet and helpful. My wife and I shared Goat Cheese Croquettes, two very substantial and delicious portions. My wife loved her burger which was perfectly cooked and came with hand cut shoestring fries which were also excellent. My wife would have preferred cheddar cheese on burger instead of American but that wasn't an option. I got the seared scallop entree which was four medium sized scallops which were very fresh though the sear could have been a bit better. I enjoyed the dish but the scallops also could have been larger. I also had an espresso martini which was very good. Would definitely return. read more

Beacon & Buoy is officially my favorite restaurant in Chatham! My husband and I had lunch yesterday with his family who was visiting from CA to see our baby. It was our first time there, but I've been raving about it since, and plan to return for my birthday in two weeks. In all honesty, the last time we've eaten somewhere on the Cape and have seen management-- let alone the owners-- greet tables of patrons was at Eastward Ho! I can't recall ever having had such a genuine interaction at any other Lunch or Dinner establishment. By the way, the owners are incredibly friendly and kind, and both offered changing facilities for our son, if needed. Our party was comprised of two carnivores and two vegetarians, and both groups were totally wowed by their meals. Evidently, the fried chicken is amazing (I'm not going to lie, it smelled so good) and my mixed green salad was literally the best salad I've ever had. The puff pastries that come with the soup are such a nice touch. I also want to add that the cold brew was incredible. The ambiance is inviting, gorgeous, and we loved the accent wall. I didn't even realize it was the same building that used to be New England Pizza like 30 years ago! Thank you for an absolutely lovely time! P.S. Our guests got in too late for us to have Breakfast, but we're so eager to come back one of these mornings! read more

This is the best new restaurant to hit the Chatham area in the last ten years. Our family has had dinner there five times and leave with our stomachs clapping their hands. We agree that the fried chicken is the best we've ever had. The same goes for the striped bass, which, unfortunately is no longer in season. The mixed green salad with mustard vinaigrette is also a winner. In short, we found nothing not to like. read more

Mixed experience. First, it's new, so need to let them work out the kinks a bit and have some understanding. Things we liked -- nice atmosphere, no too loud, tables spaced nicely, creative menu that is not "same old same old" as every other restaurant on the Cape. Owner came by a couple times t9 say hello and see how we were doing. Wry classy and appreciated. Things we did not like so much --waited 15 mins to be greeted and get water poured at our table. Then waited another 20 mins for our drink to arrive. Waitress kept pressing us to order food, but we really wanted to get our cocktail first and she kept saying the bar was slammed. Well is the bar us so slammed on a Thursday night that you cannot get a cocktail out in under 20+ mins then you have a a problem! Deal with the problem and don't just rush your customers to move along around it. Husband had the fried chicken which he said was "fine". I had the curry mussels. I LOVE curry but these were so heavily curried that even I could hardly eat them! Way way way too much curry and this comes from a huge fan! Good amount of mussels, but I left half then toast on the plate because I just could not do any more curry. Pare back the curry and look for a little more complexity in your sauce, like perhaps with some shallots, and this would be far better. Service was mediocre at very best. I wanted to get a glass of Sauvignon Blanc with my mussels and they were serving Oyster Bay. Really? That is the best bargain basement wine you can find? Disappointed with this experience overall, but hoping they can grow from it and improve! read more
