That wasn't good news, but it was true news. They referred several foundation companies to us, and we looked up a couple more to get quotes. One of theirs was the best. Once that was done, we got the repairs needed done. They ran us through the options, wood burning or gas, what each one would offer and cost, and once we settled on something they came out and did the work in two days. They were always polite, congenial, and professional. Showed me pictures of the work that needed to be done in hard-to-reach places, and also pictures of the work they had done once it was complete.

I decided to call Ace for an inspection and possible cleaning and it was one of the best decisions I've made! We have an insert that the previous owners installed and they pulled it out, cleaned the heck out of it and taught me the basics of fireplaces (awesome). They also installed an insulation strip thingy it was missing which was what was causing the smoke to come into the house. Now our fireplace is warm and pretty, doesn't smell like burning plastic when we use it (Yay!) and doesn't cause our house to look like a bbq smoker. Now, we have had a chimney fire and I requested that it be inspected. Michael gives me a quote for almost twice what I believe we paid for the original install which seems a bit outrageous to me. I emailed and asked what we could do to lower the cost such as not replace the old cap that was quoted $765 for or a sweep for $239 when the fire pretty much cleaned everything out. I didn't even get a response. I guess they have just gotten too big for their britches and aren't concerned about customer loyalty. I will no longer be able to recommend this company in good conscience and will be getting quotes elsewhere. I truly hope the owner reads this and makes an effort to ensure that he has reliable employees like he use to.
