I really wanted to like this place. Seems like the times I use this place I end up with unneeded aggravation; Not sure why I'm getting overcharged on my credit card?!?!?! Just this week...One wash $7 and two dryers for $2 that's what I'm expecting to come out of my bank and nothing more, but still being overcharged by $1 this time, and this has happened in past and haven't complained, but now I am because it's adding up overtime. And I purposely did not bring all my laundry because if I had to use more washers there would be even more charges deducted that don't add up to the machine's stated prices. all of the $7 wash machines don't work when you use a card to pay... forces you to pay $9.50 to do a load of laundry on another machine. The dryers get so hot that they melt anything with any amount of polyester so you have to spend more time & money to dry on mild...way too expensive for mediocre wash and dry. read more

After i posted a positive review... things went south quickly. Beachwash is no longer clean, i dont think the floors have been washed in weeks, there are dirty towels and rags all over, machine maintenance has been poor, rattling squealing machines=not good, even the music is stressy.. read more

This is the closest laundromat to me. And by far the most expensive one. It's almost $10 per load. That's just insane to me. Also, the dryers on multiple occasions have oil stained my shirts? I don't know why that's been happening, but I had to buy an entire new uniform for work because of it. Not cool. read more

I've been going here for years and loved this clean little laundromat near my house. I remember a few years ago when Beachwash starting accepting Google pay, it was unheard of in a coin-mat and I was so pleased, as it made my life so much easier. Tonight after loading 3 machines, (luckily pre-adding of soap, learned that the hard way) I went to pay with my phone and after testing different machines and different cards realized that not only had Beachwash stopped taking tap-to-pay in 2023 but they also didn't pay to have the remote pay machines removed from each washer or Couldn't be bothered with it, so instead used a labeler to stick tiny note on each machine to swipe cards... I packed up all my stuff and went to Taraval. So much for Beachwash. read more

Prices went up, water for your wash went down. Dryers are always out of order. Not only that, I lose $0.25-$0.50 on the dryers each time, and I don't use just one dryer to dry my clothes. Doesn't matter if I'm paying with Spyderwash card or coins. Might not be much but it adds up overtime. I contact them for a refund and if you're lucky you'll get a response plus a refund. read more

After my washing machine broke, I been there 3 Sundays because it's so close to my house. Each time, it was the worst experience. A credit card doesn't work. The first time, they had no quarts in the change machine after opening 1 hour of business. Today I gave the last try, but they have a problem with the water going to the washing machine. i was standing there watching for 7 mins. Drip of water. I just put more water from my water bottle. i would never go back here again. I'm washing it a second time adding water from my drinking bottle. I live in the inner Richmond district and I come all the way here to wash my clothes here since they open early PLUS they have big washers... Unfortunately, every single time I come here there's a leak at least one to two washer.. I call each time but the owner never calls me back and this happen about 4 times already.. It sucks because I have to use my good towel to clean it and right in the garbage. So sadly I will not be a regular anymore because I'm tired cleaning it up and the washer always leaking... read more

I've been coming here for a few years. It's cleaner than most laundromats and they recently installed credit card readers that accept ApplePay on all of the machines.. Fyi, if you use multiple machines on the same day, you will only be charged the 50 cent fee once. Also, some of the machines very efficient high capacity machines. I'm visiting for work and have used a few local laundromats. This one isn't just the best of the lot, but the best laundromat I've used yet! Clean, covid precautions thoughtfully in place, and the owner is next level on customer service. I had an issue with the card swiper and the change machine ran out of quarters. I called the number, owner answered and was empathetic and came over personally on a Sunday afternoon to pay the difference and resolve the charges (which ended up being my bad for not closing the door completely and continuing to try to pay). The machines may cost more than some of the others around here but they're well worth it. They're super efficient and most dry your clothes so well that you'll have far less time waiting for your clothes to dry in the dryer. And they're clean! The patrons seem nice and I don't mind doing my laundry after them when I need a laundromat. To boot, should you have 80 pounds of laundry, you can get it done in one giant machine! Best of all, you soon won't have to come in with your pockets laden with quarters, or even bills for the change machine: The owner was in yesterday installing Credit/Debit/ApplePay boxes on the washing machines! He told me there will even be an opportunity to get texted when your washers/dryers are done! There's an app for it! :D Finally, a local laundromat entering the digital age! He also said he wants to get a cool beachy mural instead of the bright orangey-yellow wall behind the washers. I've been going to this place for almost 6 years and I must say I love it going there because of its closeness to my home and for its hours. If you want to get the laundry done early to start your day or if you have to late at night, they're open always! I recently lost my car key inside one of the washers and called the number on the web and left a message. I was so surprised by their quick response. They actually sent someone in to look for it and called me back within the hour to let me know about the progress of their search. I would give zero stars if I could. We've been in this area for a little over a year now and have been using this laundromat since our move. Everything was good until 2 nights ago. I was there doing my laundry and yes, it does say it closes at 11 but I had to get some last minute laundry so I was there past 11 drying my clothes and let me tell you the conversation I had with the janitor after she goes to the dryer and checks the machines. "Are these your clothes?" "Yes." "You have to take your clothes out. We gotta clean and close this place." "Okay, I'm sorry. Can I just do it for 10 more minutes?" "5 minutes." Remind you, I had 3 dryers going for 42 minutes, that's $5.25 worth of dry and didn't even get 5 minutes into the dry cycle. But I said whatever, I came here late it's my fault. The next night which was yesterday, I drove by the police after my work which was 11:15(the time janitors came when I was doing laundry) and saw that nobody was there. My boyfriend passed by the place around 11:30 and he says it was still open. What the heck.. Did I just pick a day where they come and clean once a week or every other night and get unlucky? But I just couldn't fully understand the way she was talking to me about it. I should've remembered which cleaning company they were from but I wasted about $15 worth of money doing laundry and bringing home fully wet laundry. read more

I went here after reading the great reviews and was utterly disappointed. The place is tiny. Washers in the back face the dryers with about 2-3 feet of walking space in between. This creates a huge mess of people trying to get their laundry out of dryers/washes, doors hitting and blocking the walkway. Basically you have to wait in line until someone across from your washer gets their stuff of a dryer... Annoying. The free wi-fi thing.. well if there's no room to wait for your laundry (aka only 4 chairs by the door), it's pretty useless because I don't fancy browsing the internet while standing up and holding my laptop nor I think do many other people (I could be wrong! haha) It's also very dirty in here, random hair, dryer sheets, and dustballs on the floor. I was so afraid of dropping any of my clothes on the floor. I was however able to find a parking spot right in front of the building which is awesome, and rare. But that's about the only good thing about this place I can think of. read more

Just moved to the Sunset and have been trying out all of the surrounding laundromats. This is by far my favorite. I am an extremely busy college student and don't always get my laundry done when I should. The prices as I am concerned are the same at any of the washes near by. I love the Huge 8 load washer! It cut the drying time in half and with all of my clothes saved me a lot of money. The dryers are new and nice as well. I am sitting in here right now using the Wi-Fi and there is no one in here. The other places I have gone have not had any place to sit, kind of dirty, and not enough space for all the people. Beachwash is totally different and especially clean. Perfect for those looking to do quick wash or dry, and a decent place to study. Free Wi-Fi! If you decide to get out, Ocean Beach is close by if you feel the need to kill time. There are a few local eateries, café, or a liquor store if you need to snack on something as well. Owner is real nice when he shows up. Yikes, $1.00 price increase for the regular wash??? Also, there is a post it on one of the dryers that says, "Dont use, has mouse".... Aside from the recent increase in price, about 1/3 of the machines dont work when you go in.... Some of the dryers are temperamental. The bench outside smells like urine... I really love this laundromat. I drive into the Sunset, just to do my laundry at Beach Wash. Here's why: 1. The owner is super friendly. I often see him hanging out and keeping the place clean. He's really responsive, you can even email him. I noticed an email posted on the wall. He takes being clean to heart, not just a function of a laundromat. There aren't any creepy people hanging out either. 2. He spent a ton on new washers and dryers, which are larger and save me time 3. It's really cute and decorative. There are these cute blue waves, above the dryers. 4. Also, the owner added a sign and a name to the outside. Now I can say "I'm going to Beach Wash," and not "that laundromat." And oh yeah, the Wi-Fi rocks. read more

Love this place! The owner is young and hip and has a sense of flair...for what it's worth at a laundromat. And he stays on top of keeping the place and the machines clean! If you have to go out to do your laundry, knowing the machines are cleaned regularly means a lot. And most of them are new making them efficient and quick! Wi-Fi is great but there are no outlets which makes it a bit dicey when you have an older laptop. But SeaBiscuit and Flanahan's are just steps away and you are good to go! This is the laundromat I use most (closest to my home) and I love it! The owner always keeps the machines labeled when they don't work, which is rare, and in general the laundromat is clean and well maintained. Machines take laundry card, coin, or credit. Covid precautions are also well labeled throughout the laundromat, and hours are great as well (7am-11pm). Recently, the machines were updated and stopped working, but the owner was on it right away-fixed the machines and gave a refund for my lost washes. I also like that they play NPR-makes for some entertainment as I do chores! read more

I forget the name of what this laundry mat used to be called although I have been living in Ocean Beach now for 2 years. Last fall around late August the ownership changed hands after 15 years to a younger guy. I was the last person to do their laundry in the old facilities as he closed for a month to do repairs and renovations. Lucky for me I was in South East Asia for almost 4 weeks while he worked, and fortunately when I got back he had JUST opened. First and foremost, he has longer hours now, 6am - 10pm. Second, he spent a GRIP on new double and triple load machines that are quite frankly state of the art and the best I have seen in any laundry mat here in SF. Not only do they spin faster but you can also add extra quarters if you have a heavily soiled load. What this effectively breaks down to is that your drying time is now cut in 1/2. What was taking like 30 mins to dry now only takes around 15 - 17 mins. He also ripped out all the old dryers and replaced them w/ new ones. Finally, he did also add free WiFi which is great for me, cus sometimes I just bring my laptop down there and wallah! I'm yelping away. The only things he doesn't have is: arcade games, TV, or soda/snack machines. But since I only live 2 blocks away, it's not really a big deal. Plus if you really want snacks/drinks, etc.. J&M liquor is right there, SeaBiscuit is also a hop-skip & a jump so you can grab some coffee, beer, sandwich, snacks, etc.. read more

I don't have a dryer at home so after I wash my laundry, I make my way to Beachwash. It's a small laundromat surrounded by other cute establishments. The place is always clean and the people who come here are very respectful to the place. Dryers aren't always full with clothes that are already dry and washers aren't left with wet clothes just sitting in them. I was here one night while the owner was fixing the change machine and he seemed very nice. There's free wifi so you can surf the net as your waiting for your clothes to get cleaned and dry. The only thing I don't like is that the dryers are 6 mintues per quarter. I used to go to another laundromat where it was 9 minutes per quarter and dried a lot quicker than the dryers at Beachwash. Easiest place to do laundry so far, because of the convenience of the credit card machines and the huge machines where I can get it all done in one shot. I washed one bin of clothing (jeans and everything) one king comforter and one full comforter in the 60lbs washer and I can't believe it fit. The driers are all one size, but this huge load of clothing/blankets fit in them at once too, though the drying time was long, I used about 8 quarters which give you 48 min. Pretty happy with that. Also, this is close to lots of restaurants and the beach. There's a pizza joint, Mexican food, grocery store, and bars next door towards the beach. I didn't get a chance to try the wifi but there wasn't really a comfortable place to set up a laptop or anything. There's only two folding tables so if there's ever more than two people here at once it gets too crowded and there's no where to sit. It was only me and one other person when I showed up in the middle of the day on a Tuesday, but within an hour two couple had started loads of laundry and it got pretty cray when all the machines went off around the same time. Wish there was a coffee table or something by the chairs, I coulda done some surfing on the iPad, but I had a book with me anyway so it was no big deal. read more
