Making another review - have been coming here for the past 3 years and the quality has remained the same. Many bad reviews seem to err on the user - either people are putting too much soap or overloading the washers. This place is quiet, clean, and has THE BEST mobile app pay of any laundromat I've tried in the city. Plus, you get loyalty points that discount your dryer minutes. The price is slightly cheaper than most as well. I've never seen a washer here out of order, and I'm sure if one did, the owner who is a very sweet lady, will get it repaired asap. I work all over the city and have used lots of laundromats. Neighbors is by far the most user friendly, straightforward, clean (even their floors' baseboards are clean!! I give this place a 3 star for its cleanliness. The eco machines however are only a single load washer that costs 3.75. It may LOOK like a double load machine but it's not. I don't care that a sign says the lbs allowed because I don't know how much laundry weighs, I just go by how much fits in a machine. Am I alone on this? So the owner says to only fill the machine halfway. Then the only other machine option is the huge machine that costs 7.50. So be ready to cash out in your laundry every week if your doing laundry for more than just yourself. Also the dryer gets really hot on high, like TOO hot. So be aware of that PS: I truly don't understand why all the washing machines in SF are these "ecosmart" machines THAT GET YOUR SOCKS STUCK IN THE DOOR EVERY TIME. Very clean laundromat and the owner frequently pops in to tidy up and check on the place. Prices are $3.25 to wash a load, and $0.25/min to dry. It typically takes me 25 minutes to thoroughly dry my clothes here, so the total comes out to $4.50. I don't know how this compares to other places, but it gets the job done! read more

Oh man, the search for a decent laundromat in the city, along with gaining the courage to walk my laundry bag several blocks to the best one, has been a struggle. I even bought a mini washer for my apartment, which I do use but only for clothes since it's so small. I needed somewhere to wash my linens! The first place I stopped at didn't take cards, so in a rush I found this quaint little place nearby. I am so impressed! This little laundromat is great and saved me! I was in SF for a long trip and did not want to pay the fees the hotel wanted to wash my clothes so I jumped on Yelp and found what I needed right away. I do wish it had WiFi, but it forced me to finish reading the book I brought with me. I will echo the other reviewers... The owner (Kim) is super nice and seems to drop by the place every single hour, tidying up and bringing cheer. And yes, her little dog is evil but contained. Maybe the price is a little steep to wash ($2.25 a load) but the dryers are cheap ($0.75 does the job each time) and all the machines work perfectly. I always drop my stuff off, sometimes for hours, and pop back in when I am free. Nothing has ever gone missing. Then again I am a dude so no peverts are rooting around looking for my soiled undergarments... Hint 1: Dryer 6 is the best! Kim told me... Hint 2: The place closes at 9PM every night, but she'll let you hang out and fold your stuff if you miss the deadline. Hint 3: If you screw up and forget to pick up your clothes, she doesn't care too much... They'll be waiting where you left them in the morning. read more

Very clean and well kept little laundromat run by a very kind owner! My partner and I stopped by to do a few loads of laundry after letting things pile up a little too much for the solo set of machines in our building... you know how it is lol. Neighbors is just down the street from us so we decided to check it out! The machines all function really well and are a good size, and everything is clean and orderly. The machines take quarters and dollar coins, as well as functioning with an app you can connect to your credit card! Super convenient and useful! There is a change machine that dispenses quarters and dollar coins, as well as a machine for detergent. We were able to use two large machines for what would normally be around 4 loads. Each wash took 23 minutes and cost $7, which sounds expensive, but I actually think is fairly reasonable considering the efficiency. Drying is 25 cents per quarter of an hour, I believe. All in all we were able to get a bunch of laundry done in around an hour which is unheard of typically, and the owner graciously thanked us and made us feel super welcome on our way out. Would not hesitate to return if we needed to do another large round of laundry! read more

Kim totally rocks the 'mat. She's run the place for more than twenty years, and lives really close by (hella). Her dog is really cute and I don't know why people think it is unfriendly - I talk to the pooch all the time (of course, every dog instinctively knows that I will massage them) when I am in there washing my massage sheets in the big front-loaders. Hint: front-loading washing machines are more energy and water efficient than top-loaders. They use less detergent, too, and will get clothes much cleaner. And did I mention that Kim totally rocks? Despite the strange punctuation, Neighbor's Laundromat is really great. Maybe a little expensive, but it's clean, safe, and I've never had a problem getting a washer and/or dryer. I'm no expert, but I had a pretty okay experience at this laundromat recently. I was on a lengthy business trip and Airbnbing right around the corner. It opens early, the machines are huge, and it was very clean. You can get change in the machine near the door, and they also offer mini detergents and dryer sheets. - 1 star for the price, and there was no one in there as I was using the machines. As in no manager was present. - 1 star for no Wifi. I suppose that would be the 5 star laundromat experience. read more

The machines themselves work well and are uber well maintained. This laundromat is a gem for the neighborhood, and for Hayes Valley also. We lost our laundromat like, a year ago? I had a less than fabulous experience at this laundromat. Yes it's clean, but it's small. The dryers are not efficient at all. Prices are higher than a nearby laundromat. 25 cents for 5 minutes in dryer and 2.75 for a wash. I usually go to Hayes laundry on Webster and Hayes, but I thought I'd try somewhere new. Advice: hike the extra 2 block to Hayes laundry with more efficient and cheaper machines. read more

Clean, Super clean, which is the most important aspect of laundromat IMO. The owner is super friendly. The commercial washers are huge and really get your clothes clean. If you bring your laptop you can use the free wifi offered by meraki. A nice place, we'll be going there from now on. read more

ok, so here's the thing: the cute little lady who runs the place is nice as can be, and yes, her dog hates everyone; it's not just you :) it's clean and never that crowded, sure, but i've run into a couple crack smokers and a crazy meth lady on occasion. as i have gripes about most everything, this place is no exception. here we go: - $2 for a load of wash??? is that standard? jesus. the washing machines don't even get my clothes 100% clean. - when i try to put quarters in the machines, they seem the frequently get backed up and i have to punch the coin thing to get the quarters to go in. like all the time. - 25 cents for 7 minutes drying?? again, yikes. also, not that this is relevant, but that light on oak and buchanan is the worst fucking intersection. i spend half my life standing at that corner waiting to cross the street when doing laundry. i want that half my life back. read more
