Drinks were served shortly after we ordered and food took about 5-10 minutes once we ordered. Staff checked in after we finished our initial bites and we were able to add in additional snacks before end of happy hour which was great. Overall really enjoyed happy hour at Hula Hoop, great menu of drink and food specials that were really a great deal definitely will be returning.

Customer Service - 2/5 The first two dishes came out pretty quickly, but the Pad Thai took about another 20 minutes after those dishes arrived. I do have to give them credit because someone eventually came over and asked if everything was okay. I told them I still hadn't gotten my Pad Thai yet. The service wasn't necessarily good, but having 2-3 server with a full 18 table of customer. I was definitely neglected. I didn't get my menu until 6-7 min after I sat down. Food - 3/5 Curry Puff - 4/5 The curry puff was pretty good. Presentation was nice. The outside was doughy, but not too much. It was just right for me. It had a nice flaky and crispy texture on the outside, while the curry filling itself wasn't spicy. The inside was not hot nor cold. It also came with this sweet cucumber dish on the side. There weren't really any instructions for it, so honestly, I wasn't sure if I was supposed to use it as a dipping sauce or just eat it as a side dish. Either way, the curry puff itself was enjoyable. Papaya Salad - 3/5 Presentation was nice. you so see the many different color of vegetable. This isn't the type of papaya salad I would describe as light and refreshing. This one was much more about strong flavors. And the spice? Definitely on the stronger side. It was punching me in the throat. There was a nice strong lime flavor that I enjoyed, but the salad was also pretty saucy. Because of how much sauce and flavor were going on, I felt like the texture of the peanuts didn't really come through as much. If you like your papaya salad saucy, spicy, and packed with flavor, you might really enjoy this style. Also the amount of liquid sauce in the dish was kinda crazy. Feels like the papaya is being soaked in it. I usually like food that is more saucy but even this was a bit much for me. Pad Thai - 3/5 The Pad Thai was pretty good when I first started eating it. The first few bites were enjoyable, but once I got about halfway through the dish, the flavors started becoming a little too much for me. I think there was just so much flavor going on that eventually it started to feel overpowering. By the halfway point, I honestly didn't really feel like eating much more of it. One thing I do have to give them credit for is the portion and amount of ingredients. Usually when I order Pad Thai, even when I get tofu, I don't always feel like there's that much going on besides the noodles. Here, they gave a good amount of vegetables, tofu, and other ingredients. This wasn't just a big plate of noodles. That's actually something I noticed across all their dishes. They don't seem to hold back on the ingredients. The presentation was also beautiful. The different ingredients and colors made everything look very appetizing when it arrived. Additional Comment: Honestly, for a Michelin-recognized restaurant, the food was kind of "meh" for me. I don't know if it was simply the dishes I ordered or if their flavor profile just isn't for me. Nothing was necessarily bad. There were actually several things I liked, especially the curry puff, the strong lime flavor in the papaya salad, and how generous they were with the ingredients. I did see that they have a separate menu for breakfast. Maybe they're known for their breakfast food. But when I think about whether there was one dish that made me think, "I need to come back here and eat this again," I can't really say there was. Would I come back? Probably not specifically for the food I ordered.

The restaurant is clean, the service we receive from Flor our server was above expectations and extremely professional, she was knowledgeable and answer our questions with ease. We were there for dinner, but also looking for a venue for my eldest daughter's baby shower and we found it! We hope to connect with the owner soon to set the date, menu and start planning.

I've been coming herd since they first opened and lately things have just gone down hill. The food has always stayed the same but the service is not good at all. I always let the long wait time slide because the food was worth it, but everyone's time is valuable and they never got better with their wait times. I used to love their coffee but it's not as good as it was back when they first opened. What made me realize that I don't think I'll be back or not for a long time is an experience I had on the phone. I called sometime last week or so around 4:30 to order something to go. The second I said to go I got disconnected from the worker. I tried calling for the next 20 minutes & no one would pick up. I ended up having to get take out elsewhere. They never used to have bad customer service like this and they were always so much better on the phones. It makes sense that their service has changed because they have help wanted and they're looking for a new cafe manager so that probably explains it. But it's still no excuse for the way things have been lately. Don't think I'll be back for awhile or even if I'll ever return. read more

Their Acai bowls are the best I've ever had. The fruit is ALWAYS fresh. I have never had a bad piece of fruit. If you pay close attention to the men, everything they serve is fresh. If you feel like the line is too long or you are waiting for your food, that's a good sign. It has nothing to do with the employees being slow. It has everything to do with their delicious bowls. They have long lines because they have good products. The employees are working as fast as they can to meet the customer demands. Also, the Acai is delicious! I have had acai that is watery and barely has any flavor. Or it is slammed with sugar and topped with sugary fruit. The beach monkey bowl is great every time. The Acai is perfect! This place has changed so much. Been coming here since day one and sadly will not be back. I called an order in and got there to be told they didn't have what I ordered. How do you take an order and then tell someone after they get in their car that they don't have what they ordered, how can you be out of something just like that. The person on the phone should know what they're doing. The man working there was rude and unapologetic. Not sure if he's a new manager but I never saw him there. Foods gone down hill too. I've seen photos and I can attest that I've had pretty bad stuff too. From completely wrong stuff to the order being completely wrong. Beware of this place. The coffee is terrible too. Plenty of coffee places in Pacifica, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. read more

The acai bowls are addictive, and I can't get enough of them. You'll basically find me here every weekend, and sometimes I'll grab a bowl on a weekday to bring to work in the city with me. I got accosted in the elevator the other day because my acai bowl looked so good that people demanded to know where I got it. This also is my go-to coffee place - give me a Loop D Loop and my day is made. It's gotten to the point where going on vacation is a problem because I can't get a good cup of coffee to start my day the way I can in Pacifica. read more

We found this place on Yelp and stopped in to try it. It's refreshing to find a sweet spot like this for organic food in Pacifica. It's obviously a family owned business because it's super clean, kind of homey, and there were all kinds of local-looking people hanging out, soaking up the free wi-fi. We had the chicken banh mi and the shelter cove tuna sandwich and got the kombuchas which were so good. The tuna is really really delicious too. We did wait for the sandwiches, but seeing the line to the door kind of explained why. read more

This charming cafe offers a wide selection of menu items. I was impressed by the delectable grilled cheese and turkey ciabatta sandwiches. The Noriega & Ross's Cove smoothies were a flavorful treat as well. The baklava for dessert was incredibly fresh and satisfying, with the perfect balance of sweetness. After seeing that many many Yelpers have tried this place out with glowing reviews, I stopped on Saturday to get me some. This acai bowl was a lot more creamy than other bowls I have had in the past, which I loved. It's nice to get a choice between organic almond milk and organic apple juice. We went for the convenience but we always try to support the small businesses. As we walked in, we were greeted by someone who was obviously a local regular. We made our orders and the people behind the counter were quick to strike up conversation. We were made to feel like we were a part of their community and not just tourists. All of the coffee fare is the same you can get most anywhere at a nominal price. They have some tasty pastries. I really enjoyed my Jalapeno ham and cheese croissant was really good. We ended up going every morning of our weeklong stay in Pacifica. They made us feel so welcome. We will for sure return when we stay there again.

Expect a line on weekends, but it moves quickly and there's plenty of seating indoors and on the patio. Dogs are also allowed in the patio area making it easy for those accompanied by their furry family. We went here on a weekend at about 3 pm thinking we would beat the lunch crowd, but it was still packed! Looks like it's popular all day! We got the chipotle chicken BLT with pesto mayo on ciabatta bread, the 1/2 burger with secret (Thousand Island) sauce, some beer and a Cubano latte. Everything was delicious! The chipotle chicken BLT came with a side salad tossed in a fresh citrusy dressing that perfectly complemented the sandwich. This is a place where you order at the counter and they bring that food to your table. The lady taking the order (sorry for missing her name) was super helpful with recommendations and made the ordering experience stellar. The coffee was also great. They also have a fridge section with a variety of specialty drinks. A solid place to stop by if you're in the Pacifica area.

Inside, there is only enough room to place your order - the few tables they have are outside in their garden area. I got the peanut butter acai bowl. They also have an assortment of Brazilian pastries that all looked amazing so we got an assortment of savory pastries to try. They brought those out nice and toasted and they were delicious and cheesy on the inside. My acai bowl hit the spot - beautifully arranged with a great ratio of fresh fruit, granola, and chilled creamy acai with the flavor of peanut butter mixed in - it made for a sweet, yet healthy lunch.
