It was good but not great. The scrambled eggs and Hash-browns were good, the Hash-browns had veggies in them and I liked them but the consistency was not that of Hash-browns whatsoever. Relatively speaking they don't season the food, and they're ridiculously expensive. I only assume in doing so they benefit from the short season by raising the prices so high. How much should mediocre scrambled eggs hash browns and decent coffee cost? Not $28. I didn't try any of the cakes so I can't answer to that, but they looked average and on the dry side. I had lunch and breakfast, it was just "okay." Really good iced coffee and there is a station where there are all kinds of coffee additives but it was filthy. After I lifted up the bottle of coffee creamer I was disgusted by how gross it was. When I asked for turkey sausage they told me "we are vegetarian and kosher," so I asked for vegetarian sausage and they still didn't have that either. In the mean time, they serve fish, so they're not telling the truth about being "vegetarian." Vegetarian means no lives are lost, The restaurant is pescatarian. The beach bakery has all the baked goods you can want. It was very quiet inside when I walked in but that can be expected as it was during the fall and not the summer months in this very cozy town. This is a rather large bakery that has a lot of seating and smells delicious. I got a sesame seed roll and a black and white cookie with peppermint tea. The young kids who took my order were very friendly and quick to get me my food. When I took a seat I went right for the sesame seed roll which was so flaky and delicious. It was like a wow moment I did not expect it to be that good. I actually got another one for the road. Then the black and white cookie which is my all time favorite treat and they do it perfectly. I stumbled upon this place after I saw a local sitting on a bench in front and eating something that looked delicious. When you walk in it looks like a normal bakery with a counter but with a lot of cafe seating too. I went to the counter and ordered two raspberry croissants. I paid and left. I went outside and ate one right away. I was blown away. While it didn't taste much like or have the texture of a croissant it was something amazing. The raspberry "CRUMB PIE" is more strudel than crumb pie. Tastes ok but definitely not your traditional crumb pie. And the Apple Cake is pretty much pound cake with flavorless baked apple on top. The side salad was fresh, but only one type of salad dressing in a plastic cup . No flavor. Some mediocre oil and vinegar. My husband had the salmon burger that made his stomach upset. A kosher oasis in the Hamptons! A wonderful menu with great variety from fresh bread, buns, pastries, and cakes, over hot breakfasts and lunches, down to ice cream, and even some groceries! Everything is kosher, the staff is super friendly, the inside and outside sitting areas are beautiful, and the even have board games and a book exchange program. My wife and I got the Hungry Man and Quesadilla breakfast specials. The portions were huge and the taste was ok but a little blend. Especially the "home fries" in both dishes would have benefited from some more frying and seasoning. The pastries, fresh orange juice were delicious and even the half price off bread from yesterday was great. How is this not rated higher? THE FRIED CROISSANT with custard(or jam if you prefer), the boston cream donut, the atmosphere! It's all very cute! Those above listed pastries are alone worth going here for! Apple cake was light but nice(not my favorite but good if someone doesn't like sweets), the chocolate croissant wasn't as flakey but the chocolate was throughout the whole thing opposed to a little strip in the middle. Cupcake was moist and good. The black and white cookie had great frosting but the cookie itself was a little dry. I'd like to try their breads too. Yum! I think of the bakery goods I would give it a 4 star rating. But tonight, WE ATE DINNER THERE. I'm so impressed that a bakery makes delicious and fresh seafood!!! Lots of options here, but there really is only one thing to get. 15 years ago, somebody brought me an apple dumpling from here and I finally got out to the Hamptons to get another- it was that memorable. You must get them! It's a baked apple, filled with marzipan and caramel, coated in a dough topped with sugar crystals. It's really a one of a kind dessert. Be warned, they said that they generally only have them on the weekends, so if you want them otherwise, you need to order them specially. I gave 4 stars because the service was just okay and some of the other desserts were just okay. Very friendly guys but not so knowledgeable about the products at times. Their apple cake is also really good, and their rainbow cookies, but the rugelach were very mediocre. Been coming here during the summer since I was a kid. Heard Simon sold so had to stop in with my wife and daughter and check it out. Sunday morning 11am. Place was busy as usual. Was able to find a table outside with ease. Menu lookes the same, line moved quickly. Made the order, while amending some stuff, the dude taking the order was patient and understood what I wanted. Turned out to be the owner/manager (I think) and had a nice convo while waiting for the food. Got my iced coffee fix while waiting for food too which definitely helped on a Sunday morning. Owner/manager helped me carry the 3 plates we ordered out to our table. Portions were HUGE. I was definitely pleasantly surprised as I expected the usual serving size. I got the breakfast platter and asked for some lox on the side.. ended up getting half a plate full of lox. Wife got egg sandwich - we asked for the cheese (feta) to be on the side. Got a BOWL of feta. Freshly squeezed OJ was solid also. Was tapped out but still wanted get pastries as I never not get, but my daughter got fussy wanted to go on a walk. Quickly glanced at them when I went to return the empty dishes and the buggers seemed to be actually bigger than they used to be.. might be cuz I was so full but will definitely check it out. Staff looked to be the same. The dudes frying up the eggs and getting the breakfast plates in order were the same dudes- they never age. Saw a couple of the Dutch bakers that I was used to seeing so I'm happy the new owners kept them on board. Visited 24 December mid-day. One staff member was not wearing a mask (and did not have one on his person). Another server was wearing a mask placed below her nose. This behavior brings into question the commitment to hygiene. They don't sell by the slice, so you're committed to the whole thing. (Although, I don't know if this is a really good thing or a really bad thing.) They bake throughout the day, so if you want a still warm and bubbling pie, ask which ones are about to come out of the oven-- the staff is young, but friendly and eager to assist.
