Prime rib
Carla I.

Delicious food and very good cocktail menu. It's a great place for having dinner with friends, for date night.. not so much, the place can get very very loud. We were welcomed with a chicken bone broth which was full of umami flavor. Got the Hokkaido scallops and classic wedge as a starter, the cheese was a bit too salty for my taste and was overpowering the entire thing. For my main I got the prime rib which was huge, can definitely split it between two - very tender. For desert, the sticky toffee pudding which comes with a table show - I think this was the MVP of the night. The Ramos Gon Fizz is a must in my opinion.

For my 400th review, I waited until I found a place 5 star worthy. I am beyond happy with our overall dining experience at Be.Steak.A ! Celebrated my bf's birthday here on a Thursday night. I read great reviews about this place, specifically the steak, so took the gamble and booked reservations. It is a Michelin recognized restaurant so had high expectations and wow were they exceeded ! We were running late and so gave a call to see if we can still be accommodated which was no issue at all or rush. Upon arrival we were greeted with a happy birthday and welcomed with a delicious, homey, & warm chicken broth to start our visit. Hostess then guided us to our table and on the walk you see the candy table and the beautiful open kitchen. Ambience is fine dining meets modern day with beautiful shades of blue with just enough dim lighting to make it intimate for your table. Volume decent enough to have conversation. When we sat there was already a birthday card and my bf was very happy and excited. It included a bday card with staff signatures and a $2 bill - it was so cute! Our server was Aaron who was outstanding. He had great suggestions without being pushy and was very honest on recommendations. He listened to our requests and guided us with a delicious meal based on our preferences. We also were not rushed during the whole dining experience - the timing between getting orders and checking in was perfect. We had enough time to finish each meal without scarfing ourselves or crowding our table with other food. & there was never a wait for service. This we really appreciated and found unique to our dining experience. Staff also were quick to provide refills. To the food ! We were given complimentary vegetable crudite - seasonal fresh cooled veggies and a flavor bomb of a dip ! Cream cheese, white miso, garlic, & other stuff. Who would've thought simple veggies can be yummy. Next our drinks came in and we had time to sip and look at the menu. Delicious schramsberg wine which is now my fave and apparently can get bottomless during their brunch buffett ! We ordered the trio of bread, all of which were delicious, but wow the rolls ! Soft, warm & fluffy. Then got the ravioli verde, ribeye, & pork fried rice. Originally wasn't going to get the fried rice but Aaron recommended it and I am so glad he did. I could've just ate that for my meal and been satisfied. It was savory, crispy & very flavorful. Italian American meets Asian flavors without being overwhelming. The ribeye medium rare cooked to perfection and perfectly paired with the "funky onions" & demi. We had everything on the side. Steak was a good quality and tasty steak, but with the onions and demi that's where it shined and separated itself from other high quality steaks. It was delicious with the rice. Ravioli was tasty as a pre-meal and glad I swapped to it bc we did order pretty heavy. Prob one of the best steaks we had. And we are steak eaters ! My bf tied it with his #1 steakhouse. Overall all the food was more than enough for the two of us to share. Then ofc ended our night with the table flambé sticky toffee pudding which was immaculate! I will say the caramel was either over cooked or too much alcohol bc there was a bitter taste towards the end. But the dulce de leche ice cream helped balance the bitterness. We also got a complimentary s'mores ice cream cake for the bday ! It was yummy, but too sweet with the marshmallow but again the chocolate and cherries created balance. 5/5 star review I am so looking forward to dining again. I definitely believe that they deserve a Michelin star if that's what they are aiming for. We do plan to try out their brunch buffet one day. Shout out to the whole staff for making this a memorable experience and a 10/10 birthday celebration! We will be back !

Cold bar seafood

Where do I even begin to start about brunch at Be.Steak.A. This is indeed a special dining experience. My bestie and I came here for their all you can eat buffet brunch on Mother's Day. We started out with complimentary glasses of Prosecco and sparkling cider while we waited to be seated. There was a little delay in getting our table, but it wasn't really a problem because we were chatting and enjoying the drinks. Before we entered, they had a floral photo wall where we took a photo together to memorialize the experience. And when we sat at the table, they had placed a lovely Mother's Day card on the table signed by the staff. The decor at Be.Steak.A is modern and feels very upscale. I think the bathrooms say a lot about a restaurant's attention to detail, and the bathrooms at Be.Steak.A were elevated - essential oil infused salt scrub to wash your hands, bidets, etc. The brunch buffet is just as described - hot items and pastries in the kitchen (so cool), a caviar bar outside, a separate station for cold seafood, another station for fruit and charcuterie, and then assorted desserts on the bar. The food was excellent. We started with the caviar -- the options and accouterments were plentiful and delicious. The caviar bar was so fun and felt luxurious. This was one of the highlights of the whole experience for me. For the other seafood, we enjoyed oysters, shrimp, crab legs, and other little seafood dishes, which unfortunately weren't labeled, so we didn't always know what we were eating. My friend had some dietary restrictions she was concerned about, so that was a little frustrating for her. But my favorite bite of the entire day was one of those unmarked seafood dishes- I wish I could tell you what it was -I think it was possibly squid. But it was so fresh and flavorful. Yum! The hot food in the kitchen was a neat experience. They had skewers and prime rib and many other dishes to choose from. I kept coming back to the seafood skewers. We were a little bummed that the beef Wellington was just gone when we entered the kitchen. There was still about another hour and a half of brunch service left so that was a disappointment for us. They also had numerous pasties and this amazing bread pudding that I drizzled a Nutella sauce over and added some strawberries to. This was probably my third favorite bite of the day (after the little seafood dish and the caviar experience). I'd be remiss if I didn't give the truffled deviled eggs from the charcuterie area a shout out. These were so good we kept going back for more. The desserts were good but a number of them were a little dry, I have to say. Surprisingly, my favorite was a little passionfruit tart that had just the right amount of sweetness. I'm usually a chocolate kinda gal but there weren't that many chocolate options, I have to say. A few other things- our server was lovely and gave us a lay of the land to start. She made sure we had any drinks we wanted and plenty of extra silverware. While there just aren't as many touch points with a server at a buffet, the interactions we did have were very positive. And even though I was disappointed that they ran out of the Beef Wellington, I was so impressed with how they kept replenishing and refilling the other dishes right up to the end of the buffet. This was an incredible dining experience. I'd highly recommend this brunch buffet experience for special occasions. I'm looking forward to dining here for dinner in the not so distant future!

Complementary starter- cold veggies with dipping sauce

Spectacular dining experience, from the ambiance, the service, and of course the food. Some of the standouts were the yam stones, which were chewy, slightly sweet, and tasted wonderful with everything. The pork fried rice was also delicious, it was slightly spicy and flavorful. The steak was perfectly cooked and so tasty, but I think the most memorable thing was the dessert actually, the brown butter mochi trifle was just absolutely spectacular. The textured and flavors were just special. In general this is a great place to come for a special occasion for sure!

Kuro coulotte

Be Steak A is a must try if you're looking for an upscale steak dinner. We came here for our anniversary dinner and were extremely impressed with everything we ate as well as the service. For starters we got the scallops and the one spicy meatball, both of which were really good. For the mains, my husband got the ribeye with mashed potatoes which was recommended by our waiter, and I got the kuro coulotte. Both steaks were amazing. The kuro coulotte had a really good truffle sauce that paired well with the shoyu crust. They also brought us a complimentary baked Alaska for dessert, and I've been thinking about it ever since. Everything we ate was at least an 11/10. We will definitely be back the next time we have something to celebrate.

Scallops a bit overcooked

Our second go to Be.Steak.A. First time we had cocktails and some bites at the bar. Experience was ok. It's been around a few years so we decided to give it another go. Sat at the bar again. Disclaimer is this is just my experience.... As we sat down we were greeted just fine. Ordered a couple cocktails. The wife received hers and about 5-8 mins later I asked for mine. Whether or not it was true the bartender said it needs time to set. Well you could have said it takes time while my wife was waiting to sip on hers(mediocre communication). We then proceeded to order the scallop appetizer. While the presentation was good. The scallops were rubbery and overcooked. A few mins later we had to ask to order some entrees. Key words "had to ask". I got the hot stone trio. She got the lobster risotto. We decided on indulging a little. While we were waiting I asked for a wine list... 5 minutes later I asked again different server finally got the list. No revisit. The food came. Still looking to order wine about 8-10 mins in a different bartender came in and asked, we ended up getting a bottle wine. The food: the hot stone trio, for $230, mediocre cuts of supposedly A5 Japanese wagyu. They were out of the Sanuki and said we'll substitute with an Oregon beef. Just not worth the money. The lobster was ok, the risotto was already cooled off, seemed like it was sitting. So for 2 of us with a $700 plus meal the service was not on par with other similar establishments. Combine that with food that was definitely not worth the $$$$, it is not a return for me. Including hosting business here. Not sure if they judged us cause we weren't all dressed up, due to just coming from the local movie theater or what, but service was not there, unfortunate.

Might be best steakhouse in South Bay. Service and decor always on point. Cocktails are very good but pricey so after a few it'll rack up your bill. Great spot for special occasion or when someone is treating

Came back here today for Mother's Day brunch. It's been about 2 years since I've dined here and both my husband and I agreed this place still satisfies. They've raided the bubbles and brunch prices $10 since we were last here and truthfully that's not so bad considering how much everything else has gone up with inflation. We both definitely felt we got our moneys worth in caviar alone. And an addition they've added since we last dined here were crab legs. I used to comment that the one item I felt missing were crabs. The porchetta and beef Wellington still slaps. Very tasty. I finally tried the filet today with some chimichurri and it was tasty. Their oysters and shrimp were super fresh. The person shucking the oysters was working non stop. We appreciate the variety here. Much better quality than those popular Vegas buffets. Shout out to our server, Kimberly, who was also on point. Extremely kind, quick and courteous. Several years later and this place still hits it for us. I'm actually raising my original rating from 4 to 5 stars.

I have dined in many upscale establishments. And having a formal culinary background and training, it helps a lot in identifying what restaurant is really "fine". Last night we had dinner (about 20 people) at Be.Steak. And, it absolutely live up to its Michelin designation. The location is bright. It is in Campbell at the premier shopping center. Both exterior and interior aspects were strategically and carefully designed to match its quality of service, quality of food and its high-end pricing. I am not very much into fusion food, and I don't think Be.Steak is a fusion restaurant. The dishes are original, but very well seasoned. The flavors have a lot of sharpness, but there is always not lighter and more subtle aspect of every dish. I don't want to be technical here, but whoever designed these dishes gave a very careful and creative thought on how each and diners will enjoy every dish. I am certain that these creations were technically tested to ensure that all the flavors are very natural. "World Class" -Be.Steak. Thank you for the awesome food and service last night. You are the true definition of what fine dining is.

It has been a long time since we've dine at a steak house. We decided to come here for our 10 year anniversary celebration with our 4 year old in tow. It was amazing and delicious. We were given bone broth while we waited and it was so delicious. We were given a booth with an happy anniversary card which was a nice touch. They were really sweet to our little toddler. The food was delicious - we all enjoyed it. Very well presented. The restaurant itself was spacious and calming decor. Unlimited candy for you to select from and take home! Bathrooms were luxurious.

We went here for my bfs birthday and they treated us SO well. The restaurant is both elegant and comfortable. They greeted us at the door with fresh bone broth that was exquisite. They had me at hello haha. This was the most incredible steak I've ever had. True perfection. The hamachi was also by far the best and most creative preparation I've ever had. They also brought out a birthday dessert that was so delicious. I LOVE this place. I will be back. Perfect for special occasions! They don't miss a beat here. Even the bathrooms are elite.

Had a chance to visit this steakhouse and upon entering the ambiance was relaxed and lovely. The place was beautifully decorated with attractive furnishings and the plate setting was charming. We celebrated a birthday there and upon entering we were greeted with a happy birthday by the host and served some warm broth which we brought to our table. Maybe it was an off night but the broth was quite salty. We were escorted by the open kitchen behind a large glass wall where we saw the chefs diligently preparing food. We arrived to our table where they gave a birthday card personally signed by the chefs and a lucky $2 bill inside. It was a very nice touch and we were wished happy birthday by many servers throughout dinner. Once settled at our table the server quickly brought a complimentary appetizer of vegetables with a cheese flavored dipping cream which was delicious. Our waitress was very professional and friendly answering any question we had. For our meal we ordered the Caesar salad and although it looked beautiful the taste was too salty and we weren't able to finish. A really delicious pasta dish we ordered was the Tajarin al Tartufo, a handmade pasta. The portion size for the pasta was small so if you share between two people it's just 3-4 bites each. Our main course was the Kerwee ribeye 18oz steak, which was enough for two people to share. It's chargrilled with a demi-glace. For our last side we had the mashed potatoes with gravy which was creamy and delicious. Since we were celebrating a birthday, they gave us a complimentary desert with a firecracker-like candle they lit at the table which made a sparkling flare of light. It was a lovely touch to end the night. Overall the staff was very friendly and we're happy to finally visit this restaurant.

I went to Be.Steak last friday. Reservation is 8pm. I have been there when it first open. 1) Decor, very nice 2) Front hostess, super nice and when you first walk in and check in. Will get bone broth soup in a small cup while you wait. 3) Their service is amazing, my waiter/server is Luke, he is very knowlegable about wine and steak. My husband and I have a lot of qn about steak and wine. His suggestion is wonderful. 4) Order a bunch of appertizer, and also order steak, scallops. Pasta, Salad. Dessert. My party has 4 persons, good to order more and share and try out. 5) Scallop is perfect, steak is good. Every thing's taste is very good. 6) Definitelly an expensive steak house. I saw it said michelin star. Every penny you spent is totally worth it. Highly recommended, will be back sometimes.

Within about 30 minutes, the restaurant was packed, so I definitely recommend making a reservation if you're planning to come during busy hours. For drinks, we ordered the Spritz and a glass of Pinot Grigio. For food, we tried the Fall Pear Burrata Salad with a side of chicken and the Cacio e Pepe V. Since we were sharing both dishes, our server was so kind and thoughtful enough to have the kitchen separate the portions and bring each of us our own plate. I really appreciated that extra touch! Both dishes were full of flavor, and we honestly had zero complaints. I can definitely say I found my new spot for pasta! But the dish that really stole the show for me was the Fall Pear Burrata Salad. The combination of flavors was incredible, and the fresh, authentic olive oil made such a noticeable difference. Everything tasted fresh and well-balanced. They also offer gluten-free pasta substitutions, which is a great option for those who need it. As for the service, everyone was very welcoming and attentive. Our experience from start to finish was wonderful, and we're definitely looking forward to coming back and trying more items from the menu. Parking-wise, there is plenty of street parking as well as parking lots nearby, but it can get packed on busy days, so keep that in mind when planning your visit. I…read morecan't say enough about the food flavor and the wonderful staff that makes me want to return because of their kind personal touch. We called ahead around 845 to verify our 9pm reservation because we saw they closed at 9:30pm and we wanted to be respectful of their time. Bryan answered the phone and assured us we will have enough time to be seated and served before closing. He was very kind and welcoming so we headed over. We were greeted by Chris and seated immediately in the table that he let us choose. He made thoughtful suggestions on location being by the window, the booth where it was quieter or wherever we wanted because "this place is yours". This is not a typical thing I usually experience when being seated so this stood out to my wife and I. We appreciated this gesture. Once seated he took our drink orders, my wife wanted to try one of the wines before getting a glass so he brought a small sample. Once returning he asked if she wanted to select another or "take this one for a drive". The expression was simple and displayed the thoughtfulness that came from him the entire night. Simply taking time to craft words and be present is something that we noticed and appreciated. We ordered a carbonara and a pasta with prawn. The food came out fairly quickly since we arrived at a time past some of the peak hours. The bread with olive oil and balsamic came out first obviously. The carbonara and prawn pasta was so beautifully plated and presented that we forgot to take a picture for this review. We dug into the food immediately. At this time, maybe a coincidence, I checked my watch to be mindful of the time. At the same time, Kevin walked up to our table to let us know what we are good on time and that, "the back hasn't started the dishes or started cleaning up yet". There were still other parties around at that time. This was another detail that stood out to me. He might have seen me check my watch but to know what I was thinking at that moment and then respond to it is a first for me. This is beyond thoughtful. After a couple more wholesome interactions with Kevin and Chris, we ended up ordering a pannacota. This was the best I have ever had in my life. Kevin stayed for a while to chat while Chris was tending to other tables at the time. I can't say enough about the warmth in this place shown by Bryan, Chris and Kevin. I will definitely return and I want to bring my family there. The food was top tier but the people were what will bring me back.

The restaurant is large and nicely lit, I liked that it wasn't too dark or loud. Our server was lovely and did a great job of going over the specials and making us feel welcome. We tried the bruschetta (which was a special for the day) which was my favorite! The burrata was creamy and perfectly balanced with the sweet tomatoes. I got the penne alla salsicca, which was okay, it was a bit oily with not much sauce besides that. My partner got the spaghetti allo scoglio which was great! I liked the tomato sauce and that it wasn't too fishy from the seafood. Would definitely come again to try other dishes!

For my main course, I chose the short ribs, which unfortunately weren't quite to my taste. The sauce was a little too heavy and reminded me more of tomato paste than a well-balanced sauce. I personally found the dish a bit lacking in flavor. For dessert, I went with the chocolate cake. It's a nice option for chocolate lovers, although I think the tiramisu or profiteroles might be even better choices. The service was very good, and the overall experience was pleasant. However, I found the restaurant a little chilly inside. I came in with high expectations, so the experience was slightly below what I had anticipated. That said, I think my choice of main course may have played a big part in that, and I'd be happy to give the restaurant another try and explore other options on the menu.

Venue is nice, lots of indoor space and decent outdoor patio seating. The Nectarine & Little Gem salads were amazing... We had the Diavoletta, Carne Mia, and Margherita Pizzas and they were good but not the wow factor. Service was good at first and then dwindled down as the evening progressed - not sure why since they were not busy this night. Wondering if this is a standard. Would I go back? Yes, I think I will give it another shot. Maybe this time I will sit indoors, maybe the service is better inside.

We ordered two Pollo Saltimbocca dishes (one with a cream pasta substitution for an additional $8), the Pollo al Limone, and a half bottle of Chardonnay. The restaurant offers one indoor dining area and two outdoor seating areas--one in the front and one in the back--which gives guests plenty of seating options. The food was a bit saltier than our personal preference. The cream pasta substitution, despite the extra charge, wasn't anything particularly memorable compared to similar dishes we've had at other restaurants. However, the highlight of our visit was definitely the warm and welcoming customer service. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel appreciated. We also appreciate that the restaurant closes for a few hours in the afternoon before reopening for dinner service. It's nice to see a business that gives its staff a break during the day. Parking can be a bit challenging due to the busy neighborhood. Be aware that street parking is paid, and most spots have a two-hour limit, so you'll need to keep an eye on the time. Overall, we'd come back to try more of the pasta dishes on the menu and hope to discover a new favorite.

We had kids with us and they managed to move things around for us to be comfortable. Thank you very much for the amazing service and laughs! The appetizers we ordered were pretty good -- bruschetta (fam favorite), burrata + prosciutto, beef carpaccio, and calamari (a little tough). I really enjoyed my spicy rigatoni! That was so good and creamy and just the perfect kick of spice. Everyone else seemed to enjoy theirs -- Milan fettuccine, Linguine Vongole, Beef lasagna, and spaghetti bolognese. Unfortunately the risotto was not the best, it was a bit overcooked and tasted more like salty rice than creamy risotto. Overall it was a great dinner and service! Hope to be back soon!

Once you walk in the room is very spacious and it's beautiful to see the chandeliers and the wall of wines, and nicely decorated inside. The servers were attentive and service was great. Here's what we ordered for our party of 4: Appetizers: Calamari Fritti $22 (4/5) Nice and crunchy pieces of calamari (not overly fried), green beans, artichoke hearts. This I enjoyed a lot, and it came with 2 dipping sauces. Caprese $16 (4/5) Cant go wrong with some nice mozzarella, yummy fresh tomatoes and balsamic glazed. About 4 pieces of each. Beet Salad $16 (4/5) Super refreshing beets, orange pieces, and really goooooood goat cheese chunks all went well together Garlic Bread $8 (4/5) They give you free bread too so if you don't want basic bread (which was still really good) with their olive oil/balsamic get this. The bread was slightly crunchy, and had a nice garlic cheesy topping Entrees: Spaghetti Carbonara $25 (2/5) If you know me, you know I love a good carbonara. I don't know what happened to this dish, but it was so so dry. There wasn't much sauce, so it was hard to eat. I am misled because their menu says (CREAMY RICH SAUCE). I think they forgot to make it like that. Chicken Parmesan $35 (2/5) The chicken parm was ok, it had a nice cheese top and marina sauce. But the pasta it went with was terrible too. NO FLAVOR! Spaghetti Bolognese $24 (4/5) This was the only pasta from the 3 that was acceptable. It had a lot of sauce, meat, flavor and the noodle wasn't under or overcooked. We had a bottle of Kali Hart Chardonnay 2024 and went well with our dishes. They also gave me a complimentary ice-cream to end my night. Overall, I would love to come back to try other dishes but was so disappointed on my pastas.

The location is pretty convenient, just outside Downtown San Jose, and parking is relatively easy with a decent amount of parking available nearby. One thing that has been consistent every time I've visited is the service. The staff are always welcoming, friendly, and attentive without hovering. They're usually nearby when you need something, which makes it a good spot for a work lunch or dinner where you don't want to spend half the meal trying to get someone's attention. It's definitely a little on the pricier side, but I've been happy with the food so far. I haven't had anything here that I thought was bad. On my previous visit, I had the spaghetti carbonara, which was rich, creamy, and full of flavor. This time I went with the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. It was a solid, comforting plate of pasta, and they finish it off with freshly grated Parmesan, with the amount based on your preference. I also tried the espresso martini this time. It was smooth and enjoyable, although I didn't get much of an alcohol kick from it. If you're looking for something stronger, this probably isn't the drink I'd go with. Portions are decent and the overall atmosphere works well for both business meals and something more casual. I could also see this being a nice option for a date night if you're looking for Italian food in the area. Overall, Palermo has been a reliable choice for me. It's not the cheapest Italian restaurant around, but the combination of good food, attentive service, convenient location, and easy parking makes it a place I'll continue coming back to when I'm in the area.
