We ended up at Cafe Sante and it was perfect... Despite not having a reservation, our party of six was seated pretty quickly. Mike was our server and he was personable and attentive. We enjoyed a variety of food and drinks amongst the group and everyone enjoyed! I'd absolutely return. Enjoy!

Today was a Monday and it was almost 1pm so a lot of breakfast/lunch places seemed to be closed. Ended up at the end of the bike route and lo and behold, Cafe Sante. Walked in just expecting simple breakfast / lunch foods but no was I wrong. Place was packed. Wood fire pizza oven was going. Ambiance pushed more of an upscale lunch spot. Seated right away and outside on the four season room! We got to enjoy the views of Lake Charlevoix. Service was great and attentive. They were informative as well because I was blown away by the menu. French influences? Pate as a starter? Escargot? What in the f? And the prices! For a resort town it was amazing to see $15 entrees! The family shared multiple appetizers, brunch and lunch entrees and a pizza. You can see them in the pictures. I was quite impressed with the quality and execution of the food. Definitely chef driven. Not your Sysco GFS frozen Stuff. Stand outs were the tomato basil soup and house made sausage patties! If you're in Boyne. Stop and eat here. I definitely Will again. 4.5/5

They have a variety of sandwiches from healthy to not so healthy but all are delicious and fresh. Their shop has some outside seating but they no longer have inside seating. You can call or go online to place an order, or head to the shop as well. Their menu is extensive and inside the shop they have a selection of assorted sides like chips, crackers, olives, drinks etc. it is fun to peruse and pick up some local kettle chips or a snack to accompany the sandwich deliciousness. On a non-busy day it usually take 10-15 minutes to complete and order, but on a weekend give it 45 minutes so as to provide enough time for your meal to be perfect. The sandwiches are fresh and hand made per order so you get all the goodness of right now packed with flavor. My husbands favorite has chicken, cheese, avocado, mayo, red onions and an assortment of yummy spices that keep him coming back again and again. He honestly tried to make this at home a few times but it never matched and so he decided instead to book an annual trip to Lake Street Market instead! I've tried their Miss Fit Attends Services which is a vegetarian option that is very hardy and full of taste. I also like their salads and assortment of chips! All in all it is a must visit if you are in the area, or worthy of a day trip if not!

We've had brisket at plenty of other places and nothing compares to theirs and it is absolutely the reason we continue coming back. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience doesn't consistently live up to the food. Wait times for food are often very long, and across multiple visits we've found the servers generally aren't very attentive. The other major issue is the price. It's very expensive for the amount of food you actually get, and especially in the current economy, that's hard to overlook. When you're paying that much for a meal, I think it's reasonable to expect not only excellent food, but excellent service and an overall experience that feels worth the price. That's ultimately why I'm torn. The brisket is five-star brisket, but the overall value and service aren't five-star. We'll probably still find ourselves coming back because apparently that brisket has a hold on us, but better service, shorter waits, and pricing that feels more proportional to the portions would make a huge difference.

Boyne Mountain always has something fun going on throughout the year, making this a great place to stop after a full day on the slopes or a round of golf. It has that cozy, laid-back mountain atmosphere that makes you want to settle in, relax, and enjoy a good meal. Our waitress was an absolute sweetheart! We had two little ones with us, and she was incredibly helpful and accommodating with both of them. One of the kitchen burners was down during our visit, which meant our food took a little longer than expected, but she kept us updated the entire time. We really appreciated her communication and how attentive she was despite the circumstances! For starters, we ordered the spinach and artichoke dip for the table, and it was delicious! It came with fresh bread that was perfect for scooping up all that creamy, cheesy goodness. The chicken tenders were another win -- perfectly crispy on the outside while staying nice and tender on the inside, without being dried out. But the star of the show had to be the Reuben. Holy smokes, this sandwich was GOOD! Everything came together beautifully, but that dressing really took it over the top. And, of course, we couldn't go wrong with a side of onion rings to round out the meal. Prices are definitely a little on the higher end, but when the food is this good and the service is this welcoming, it makes the experience worthwhile. Whether you're visiting Boyne Mountain in the winter or enjoying everything the resort has to offer during the warmer months, 40 Acres is a great spot to grab a bite. We'd happily come back!

Now that we got that out of the way, this was not my first time At Boyne but it was my first time at Forty Acres Service was great. A cheerful gal served us and gave us great recommendations. The vibe of the place was definitely a tavern style eatery. I got to watch the last quarter of the Lions game and we won. Food was expensive. Apps were in the high teens. Burgers and sandwiches were in the mid 20s. Entrees were in the 40s. BUT, all the food impressed me very much. They were very very high quality and exceptional. If you take away the resort upcharge on pricing, the food exceeds the price point. The sandwiches were stuffed with fillings and definitely not skimped. The salmon was a huge center cut, I'm thinking 10-12oz. Beautifully cooked. Crispy outside, succulent and flaky inside. The star is the spread? The shrimp scampi linguine. $40. 6 or so colossal shrimp. U12 at least. Sauce was on point and paired perfectly. I enjoyed this meal. It was put together with care. Not a, let's get as much orders as we can out type of care. I left it short 1 star because the wings were small. I boasted everything else about this place but I wish they would use jumbo or even whole wings. The wing sauce was spectacular. Just didn't imagine having wings the size of new Bdubs. Pretty sure the kids and I will be eating here again. 3.8/5
