The prompt for giving a review on Yelp suggests considering ambiance, service, and food. I shall do so in reverse order. First, my wife grew up in Dearborn, and is, thus, well acquainted with Detroit pizza. So, when we were in town on Friday - living about 30 miles north - we decided to try out the Corktown Pizza restaurant. It was our first visit, but it will definitely NOT be our last. In fact, Corktown Pizza is now our go-to local restaurant for pizza. Now, to the promised review. There is not a whole lot to say about the ambiance. The restaurant has a somewhat spartan aura to it which we really enjoyed. We were able to concentrate and focus on our meal, and not on the room. The BEST part of the ambience was that the dining area was relatively quiet, allowing us to enjoy our meal and talk to each other without being overwhelmed by noise, which is the total opposite of Buffalo Wild Wings which shares the building, where you have to yell to be heard by the people sitting at your table. Now as to the food. The pizza was ABSOLUTELY the BEST pizza that I have EVER had - and I am 75 years of age, and have always enjoyed pizza. I might have had a pizza at some point that was as good as the Corktown Pizza, but I have DEFINITELY NEVER had a pizza that was better. They have several types of pizza on the menu - thick crust, thin crust, Detroit style, etc. I got the Detroit pizza and my wife got the thick crust, and both were equally good. The prices and good, and the quantity was great. I had to take half of my four slice pizza home for dinner the next day - and it was still wonderful the following night! Now, as to the service. I was really impressed with our server, Kevin, who was actually able to cover the whole room - and did a fantastic job of it. He was very attentive to our needs without being intrusive, giving us a chance to enjoy the food and our conversation. As in the movie "We Are Spinal Tap", I would like to give Kevin an "11" on a scale of "10"! I never got to meet or be introduced to Paul, the Cook/Chef, but based on the food he prepared, I would like to give him an "11" as well! We will be back, and so should you! read more

Unsure as to the cross-up in service today, but you can't leave your dining room/bar unattended for 10 minutes....or more. The only other guy in here was sitting at the bar and told us we should seriously get going. He'd already walked to the kitchen door twice in twenty minutes to get another drink. Ah, we stayed. The excellent antipasto and D-style pizza added a couple stars. PRO TIP: more of a "fun" tip. Hold back on some of the cold cuts from the antipasto salad to add to your hot pizza! Very good Detroit style pizza! Good service ( a bit thin at times, but not a major problem). Pizza and Antipasto salad were very good. We learned a bit about Corktown and Detroit history as well! Don't be dissuaded by negative reviews, this is a nice spot, not very big, service is friendly and the food was excellent. A small Detroit style pizza was more than enough for my wife and and I as was the small salad. I would definitely go back. They are somewhat tied to the Buffalo Wild Wings next door and can get any sports channel you like as a result. Go, enjoy a good meal - just be patient if service is a bit slow at times...it's worth the wait. read more

Excellent pizza and the service was top notch...and plenty of TV's to watch the games

Wasted! Called in a takeout, requested the thin crust, got the regular crust which I would consider deep dish. Total dough bomb, so disappointing, I threw out 1/2 of it. What a waste, the only reason I order from Corktown is because they had 'thin' crust. On top it all, the pizza is terrible, no taste. Domino's is much better. Never again! read more

Great place. They make their own Italian sausage and their meatballs are the sausage so these are a great choice on their sandwiches and pizza. Service was friendly food was good and came out fast. Good place. read more

PIZZA is my all time favorite thing in the world And let me tell you, Pizza is not a 'trend' it's a way of life. I've been happily eating it forever, so when I tell you I know what's good and what's bad, I KNOW what I'm talking about. So with that being said, I'm here to PROUDLY tell you that Corktown Pizza Co is absolutely AMAZING and has been added to my favorite restaurants in the area. We stopped for lunch at Corktown pizza and it was excellent! Genuine "Detroit style" pizza, service by Jake was helpful and friendly, local beers and craft cocktails. There are numerous televisions and enlarged old photos from old Corktown in Detroit added charm. An all around great experience. We're looking forward to our next visit. read more

Great atmosphere. 4-5 tables and one server/bartender. She was quick, attentive, and efficient. Meatballs are the best in the area. Tasted like they were authentic, Italian meatballs. We had the Motown Meat lovers pizza, and it was superb. read more

The service was incredible! We walked in with a whole soccer team and their parents and they huddled with us, made a plan, and got us all of our pizzas and drinks in great time even though they didn't have a large staff to accommodate us. The pizza was delicious and the doughball tots were so good! Would definitely recommend! read more

Pleasantly surprised! Not a fan of Detroit style pizza, but THIS pizza was delicious!! Crispy corners and the sauce is to die for. The sauce is served on top of the pizza, which is an unusual twist, but worth it. Also the Italian sub was delicious. The sub roll was toasted and that was wonderful until it cooled down and got a little hard. Would prefer a warm roll instead of toasted. Prices are great and the service was A+. Cannot wait to go back. We live in Gaylord, but will definitely go back when we visit Petosky. read more

Worst carry out experience EVER. Came in for a quick pizza, 4 slices pre-made would be great. Manager said they offer a grab & go pizza, more pieces than I needed, but ok, I was starving. Thirty minutes later my small round pepperoni and cheese was finally heated up. Same manager called over another manager and then a waitress, to help him use the cash register for the grab & go option. Nope, none of them found the button to select. He charged me the same price as a small specialty pizza with four toppings, including goat cheese, peppers, etc. The carry out menu had no prices, but I was able see a dine in menu during my long wait. Then inquired as to why my 30 minute grab & go pepperoni and cheese was so much, to which he responded, that's what a small pizza costs. Really?! No apology for long wait, etc. If this guy is a manager, this place is in trouble. No surprise that on a Saturday night, prime time, maybe four tables with a couple people at each were in the dining room?! He said that they have the best pizza, way better than Jet's, Really?! No sauce, barely there melted cheese and very few pepperonis. I've had better, Hot & Ready from Little Caesars, but I wanted better. Nope. F- rating. Good luck staying in business!!! Ordered a large round and a large thin crust square. Flavor was okay, but the cheese was tough and chewy, toppings were scanty and when we requested light sauce they put a weird dollop of sauce on top of the pizza instead of under the cheese. Very strange and not good. read more

This restaurant is much like their cauliflower- sad, reheated, and a sorry excuse for sauce. The waitress was simply wonderful, however there was just 1 for about 8+ tables present. Cups sat empty for long amounts of time and my dining partner was sorely upset (what fun company!). Tough representation for Detroit, considering branding my own "Detroit vs. Corktown pizza" shirts, everyone would understand the struggle then. I have never had pizza that had no flavor until I ate here. Pizza had Pepperoni, sausage, ham and bacon and the only thing that had flavor was the sausage and that was still very little flavor.Cheese bread wasn't good either. read more

As a person with celiac I had high hopes for the gluten free breadsticks and pizza. The breadsticks look and tasted like cardboard. The pizza tasted somewhat better just because the toppings help hide the cardboard taste. If you are on a budget don't waste your money. They are not cheap. read more

What a great find in Petoskey. The pizza was delicious. We loved the atmosphere and it has a full bar. We will be back for sure.

We wanted to give it a try. Pick up order, 2 pizzas, dou bites and salad. Called ahead and asked for it to be ready at a specific time. Text came in that it was ready 25 minutes before request. Called and they came the text was sent early. Get that to pick up at my time I requested. The salad was not made. I waited 10 minutes w/ no follow up from them. They couldn't find my salad. They gave mine to someone else! Had to make me one. So now my pizza is 45 minutes old and cold. When I mentioned it, she looks and says it looks good! The boxes where cold even coming out of the warmer (? Holding cabinet). Get it home, one pizza isn't even cut and no dipping sauce for bites. Crust on both was tough, one deep dish, one thin and crispy. Two families experienced this meal all dissatisfied. On a positive note the salad was cold and tasty. read more
