Met some friends to try out the happy hour. Service was absolutely 5 star. We tried the seafood empanadas, I would order again they were delish, the Boudin balls. We actually left 2 on the plate. The crust was too heavy and detracted from the boudin taste. Wouldn't order them again. My friends both ordered gumbo which I tasted and it was very tasty. Also very salty. ( the others did not mention the saltiness) our server was Allie and she was a doll and on point! The manager made her way around to our table several times and she was great! read more

The food was good but not earth shattering. I may be biased since I have been to New Orleans numerous times. Not a bad option, though.

What a mixed experience! The food was really good and reminded me a lot of NOLa, but the service couldn't have been worse. I had driven past the restaurant many times and always said to my wife we need to give that place a try as we both love Louisiana cuisine. We decided to give them a try last Friday night. Upon arriving around 9PM my wife and I joined the growing crowd that had gathered at the hostess stand. We waited more then 10 minutes before we were greeted....and when I say WE...I mean the 20+ customers that were ignored by several waiters who came by the stand. While we sat there about half the customers actually left. After the hostess finally arrived we were seated in the middle of the dining room....where we waited and waited and waited for the waiter who never showed up. Finally I identified a manager and ordered our drinks from her. The bartender served our drinks and apologized for the poor service up to that point. We placed an appetizer order with the bartender and a few minutes later we were served the most wonderful seafood empanadas. But again we were stranded without service. Finally I waved down a waiter who explained the we were not his table but I insisted that he take our order....which he did reluctantly. Our entrees arrived after a short wait and were once again served by the food runner or kitchen staff...to my surprise it was worth the wait! My wife enjoyed the shrimp and grits....the grits had a wonderful silky texture and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. For myself I enjoyed red beans, crawfish etouffee, and a spicy sausage link. After stealing a shrimp from my wife's plate I regret not ordering the optional shrimp skewer with my entree. Finally a waiter arrived, yes an actual waiter! He got us a refill on our cocktails and talked us into dessert....a key lime cheesecake. The cheese cake was lack luster with no character....I think it came from the frozen section at Kroger. All in all I will not be returning unless it's for take out as the horrible service far outweighed the food. Unfortunately for BB's there are just too many wonderful restaurants in Houston for me to suffer through horrible service. read more

I like this, but it feels like they don't have the kinks worked out yet. It kind of feels like there's too much going on with everything else instead of here's the smoothest way to get diners from point A to point B. The stupid tablets are one big headache. When it come time for the check, give me a sheet of paper with all my food on it. Don't have the waitress flash a screen at me and expect me to just go, ok whatever you say... I want to see everything we ordered and not with the waitress holding the damn tablet there. I then want a printed itemized receipt. It's not that hard. The food tasted good, but one other issue is the parking lot. Please do something about that. read more

I hope I can make this short because this place isn't worth spending much time on. It got such good reviews we decided to try it. We got the fried oyster plate. The good: o The service was good. o My martini was cheap and good. o The hush-puppies, what there were of them, were good. o The fries would have been good but because it was so loud I was never able to get our server to hear my requests for catsup. Went in and it was pretty crowded and I had a large party, so we ordered to go. After spending forever to decide what we all wanted, we ordered to go and hung out at Barnes & Noble while we waited. The food only took 20ish minutes to be ready. We ordered and assortment of things, the best being a fairly large order of crawfish, snow crab and shrimp. Their sauce is really really great without being too salty! (Or maybe just salty enough?) read more

We went with a party of 12 on a Saturday evening. The service was the best we could have ever asked for, and the food was amazing! I had the shrimp and crab boil experience with the Tex-Orleans seasoning, and it was plenty for 2 adults who can eat to share! This has got to be some of the worst Crawfish I've ever had, much less from BB's and I've been going there since they opened and supported them several times during beginning of COVID. At least 1lb if not 2lbs were broken, separated, punctured, squished flat, etc. and that's a generous estimate considering I threw several away in hopes it's going to get better as I ate. The beginning of the season is no excuse for poor quality, small SIZE is expected, this is just laziness or greed on part of their kitchen or management not wanting to throw away potential profits. Me and my daughter look forward to Crawfish Friday's and was thoroughly disappointed. Zero pride was taken here and at least this season I won't be going back. read more

I was in Houston so I wanted to try BBs. The wait time online was 10mins but when I got there it was 40 mins per the waitress.. It was my wife and I and my 2 small kids. I didn't mine waiting especially since WiFI was available.. The wifi was password protected and the hostess refused to give us the password. I was quite disappointed with the service.. Highly Disappointed in this place. Twice I've ordered to-go and both times I have had issue. I was excited when I heard BB's was coming down to webster because I used to go to the BB's on Montrose and Richmond when I used to drink in downtown or had something to do in downtown. However, this place is not on the same level as either of those locations. Food is almost always not right or put together in smaller portions because of it being to-go. The portion was decent and the slither of garlic bread had a sweetish flavor that was very tasty. The drink was definitely good as well and I highly recommend it. We just finished eating at BB's and I had such a great experience that I needed to come share. Our server LEE was amazing! Request him as your server, you won't regret it. He was so attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. We ordered our first batch of the Field run(mixture of small & big) crawfish for the 5 lbs for $33 and then ordered our second batch of the Classic (big) for $9.99/lb. We liked the Classic way better than the Field run. We also had the alligator sausage for the first time and it was pretty tasty. Thank you again Lee for going above and beyond to serve us! What made you stand out the most was the bowl of water with lemon you brought us after we finished our crawfish to wash our hands and we didn't even have to ask for it. We have a long-standing fondness for BB's since 2011 in the Heights. We enjoyed the laid back style and authenticity. Yesterday was a whole other thing. The service was ok, and the food was ok. Here's why they are missing some points. The food cost did not justify the TOTAL absence of salt & pepper shakers. We asked for salt & pepper and received some packets. PACKETS. Come on man! That salad cost us $19 and you can't buy some damn shakers??????? We also had to request a fork, but only after asking our server if we were supposed to bring our own flatware. Sorry, BB's. You ain't all that, your food is ok, your prices are exorbitant, and you are CHEAP when it comes to extras. Don't be looking for any lagniappe here! read more

The food we had was realllly great! I had the boudin flautas. They were a bit spicy, but a tasty spicy. The sauce that was on top was so good! My family had the crawfish etoufe and loved it. It had a little kick but it was good. We also had the shrimp and chicken tenders plate and that was really good. As expected. We also had the surf n turf plate which was a hit. For appetizers we had the pollo bullets which I highly recommend. I didn't get a pic. The queso was really good. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because of the wait time that we had to wait for service when we sat down. Otherwise, everything was really great! This was the first and last time that I will go to this restaurant. I just got a To Go Order from this restaurant, ordered a catfish dinner with what was supposed to be catfish, 2 hush puppies and dirty rice. The meal came with cole slaw and sauce. I did not get any cole slaw or sauces. I called the restaurant and spoke with someone named Ada who told me that she was one of the managers. I told her what had happened and her reply was "well, what do you want me to do about it." In other words, she couldn't have cared less that I was calling. Had no apologies and no offer to make good on this. I spent over $20 for this dinner and the food was TERRIBLE. Had to throw it out. I was born and raised in New Orleans and this food had NO New Orleans flavor. I would not waste my time and money going to this establishment. Also, the place did not look too clean. read more

First time at BB's Tex-Orleans and probably the last. Easy to call and make a reservation. Cajun empanadas were delicious and flavorful. Fried pickles- pickles were salty, batter was tasteless. Seafood gumbo was nothing special. Worst part of the whole meal was that the redfish was not descaled at all. When asked about this, was told that they just switched from descaled to scaled. This makes absolutely no sense why a restaurant would do it. Was told by manager it was switched to keep the shape of the fish from falling apart. Maybe there a misunderstanding. You can descale a fish without it falling apart. Cutting back on labor in the kitchen to cut costs loses a guest. Not a smart move in my opinion. Was told by the server to just scrape the scales off with a spoon but was not given an alternative. Server didn't seem the care. Said it's like "eating the fish at home and fresh." I don't know what home you came from that doesn't descale the fish at all. read more
