Came in at 9.20pm and seated ourselves as shown on the sign. We waited for 5 minutes before being shown the menu as there were no menu available on the table. We then asked for a menu and ordered the Bayou Blessing and a lime agua fresca. We were promptly served chips and salsa. We then proceeded to wait 50 minutes. We had to ask another server to check on our order, just to find out that our order was not even sent to the kitchen. Mind you, the original server we had walked by multiple times but did not update or check up on us. We left right after that. If you need a bubbly pick me up, ask for a table with her. I felt welcomed, checked on, cared for and considered. She was swift and everyone I saw her interact with seemed pleased too. The turkey itself was exceptional this year--perfectly cooked and clearly prepared with care, as it tasted wonderfully clean and fresh. Worst crawfish/ they're dead crawfish. This is the Richmond location. I've tried giving them to-go chances and eating in person. It is so horrible. Save yourself money and go somewhere else. I ordered 5lbs (in person) of crawfish and it looked like 3lbs and they gave me corn and potatoes that I did not asked for. Let me tell you, mostly dead crawfish this on 4/24/26). I simply wanted 5 lbs of crawfish. They try to bamboozle you with corns and potatoes to throw you off that they give not the pounds you asked for. I usually end up taking to-go cause I drink a lot when I'm there but this time I could hardly finish one lb. Today, it was just simply aweful and even asked the server and I guess, the manager of this is really 5lbs. The heights is the best location but once again, I go here (Richmond location) because it's so convenient. Now that this is the 4th time they've done this BS with bad crawfish, I would never go here again to this location. Just go to Chinatown and save yourself the disappointment. Better drive far than to waste money on dead crawfish. Terrible location. I usually like this spot, but 2-3 hours before closing the kitchen seems to get lazy. Last night several plates, including mine, came out lukewarm. The table next to us even sent two meals back just to get them reheated. My server was friendly and attentive, so this isn't a front-of-house issue - it's a problem on the line. The red beans and rice came out barely warm, with a weak portion and way more beans than rice, which made it feel cheap and thrown together. The cooks are the heartbeat of this place, so it's disappointing to see the quality drop off toward the end of the night. However, we've had THREE experiences over the past few years where the servers and managers are unwilling to serve people on the patio during the rare beautiful Houston weather. When it's crawfish season in Houston and you get a blue sky it's very frustrating to be told repeatedly that the patio is unavailable. The first server said it was due to construction that was happening that evening. Then the manager said they were having a rodent problem. We explained we were great with rodents should they appear at 5 pm (unlikely). Fortunately, Ms Tee agreed to serve us and was the bright star of the afternoon. She saved the day and ensured we'll give BB's another try. I have been missing out on crawfish all season long and decided to get some this past Memorial Day Weekend. I have been to this location many years ago so it's been a while since my last visit. I don't recall ever trying their crawfish either. I was really wanting a nice patio vibe but unfortunately the heat and humidity in Houston was unbearable. When I arrived, I was able to park in their parking lot behind the building and walk up. My friend was already seated inside with her margarita. It did not feel like the AC was on but it wasn't extremely hot. Inside is pretty small as there are more seating on the outside areas. The place was filled with people dining in and the 2 servers that I saw were working hard to accommodate everyone. Our server came by to get our orders and I opted for their frozen Mango Margarita with strawberry flavor added. To eat I ordered their Citrus garlic flavor on the crawfish with a side of corn. Their citrus garlic flavor was really good. I had asked for a little sample on the side to taste it and it was great for dipping the crawfish in. My mom and I wanted crawfish. Luckily, I found an article from Eater that said BBs had them. I looked online, realized they also had happy hour and weren't too far from our hotel... sold! The ceviche was fresh and delicious. I think our waiter gave us the wrong portion (we wanted the $5 HH) but $10 for that amount is worth it. Shrimp were good. The seasoning was spicy and messy. HH price for those were $8, another great deal. The crawfish (our reason for visiting) did not disappoint. We went Louisiana style and it had a great heat, wasn't overly salty. There were some big crawfish and most of the other ones were small but that's how the season has been. Service was great. We had a hiccup with our bill but the manager quickly fixed it. I'll start by saying the food at BB's is excellent. In that regard, they truly deliver on flavor. However, the service was extremely disappointing. We were initially seated indoors but requested to move outside. When we first sat down, we were helped by a server who was attentive and professional (and I later understood she was assisting because our assigned server had left us waiting for some time). As we waited, we witnessed the server who was originally assigned to us approach the one who had been helping -- right in front of us -- looking visibly upset that she had "taken" the table. Eventually, we were moved outside to one of two available six-person tables. After sitting down and receiving our appetizers, we were abruptly asked to move to a different table because the one we were occupying had actually been reserved. I have never, in my life, been asked to move after being seated and served -- it was extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional. After relocating, another server came by to ask if we needed anything else -- even though we had not yet received our main order (the crawfish). We reminded them, which led to multiple servers coming to our table to discuss -- again, right in front of us -- who had placed the order and what went wrong. It turned out the order had never been entered. They apologized and promised to expedite it, but it still took another 25 minutes for our food to arrive. While the food itself remained very good, the service experience was unacceptable. I have never written a negative Yelp review before, but this experience compelled me to share my concerns. What made the experience even more disappointing was that, despite all the issues we encountered, no effort was made to make things right -- no offer of a complimentary drink, appetizer, or even a small discount. A simple gesture of goodwill could have softened the situation and left me with a better impression. Had they done so, I likely would have been more understanding and would not have felt compelled to write this review. Advice to management: Hold a staff meeting to clearly establish expectations. Each table should be assigned to one server only, without exceptions. Customers should not be exposed to internal staff conflicts. Maintaining professionalism in front of guests is essential for a positive dining experience. read more

Also annoyingly so...I placed an online order and when I hot there I still had to wait 10 mins despite arriving after the time given for pick up. We were in town and this was rated a great place to eat. We came in for lunch. They weren't many people there inside we decided to sit outside. It was completely empty so we had to ourselves, which was fine for us. Our waiter came out very quickly and got our orders was very prompt. I was really excited to try the shrimp and grits. I love grits and wanted to see how these tasted. For starters, I got a Cosmo, which was great and the empanadas. The empanadas were terrible. I am a fan of empanada especially curry or seasons ones and these just we're not doing it for me the sauce that came along with. It was nasty as well. I would rate these about a five out of 10. For the shrimp and grits I was definitely surprised at how great they tasted. I loved the flavoring a great menu option. My husband enjoyed his sandwich as well. The only detracting factor was once our food arrive to fly swarmed us outside and it was kind of hard to enjoy our meal while protecting our food from flies. read more

The Richmond location has to be my favorite because they now have more parking, but mainly because this location oozes crawfish season to me. I go here often for lunch. Catfish is plentiful, buttery, flakey, and tender. The hush puppies have jalapeños but it's not hot at all. Red beans have the familiar taste of home (New Orleans). Étouffée and rice is great with catfish. The fish taco is bursting with flavors, the flautas is crunchy but not too crunchy. And macaroni with roast beef debris is too die for.
