I decided to spend part of my birthday this year at BB's for dessert and a nightcap, and I'm so glad I did! The waitress was incredibly kind and welcoming, even though it was getting close to closing time. She never made us feel rushed and gave great recommendations for both dessert and wine. The service really made the experience special, and I appreciated how personable and helpful she was. I'm excited to go back and try their food next time! Such a lovely spot to end a birthday celebration.

While seeking an exceptional dining destination in Southbank this evening, I happened upon BB's, and it proved to be an absolute culinary triumph! Arrival was effortless thanks to their convenient parking options. Stepping inside, I was immediately enchanted by the ambiance. While unassuming at first glance, the decor is exquisitely appointed, featuring a charming bar area alongside a breathtaking display of artisanal cakes and delicate treats. The venue is pristine, elegant, and impeccably maintained. The hospitality was top-tier from start to finish. My server, Evan, was remarkably gracious, attentive, and ensured I was seated comfortably, making the entire experience feel thoroughly luxurious. To unwind after a long day, I ordered an Espresso Martini, which was mixed to sheer perfection smooth, rich, and an absolute delight. For my main dish, I selected the Duck Wonton Napoleon, which was nothing short of divine. The flavors were sophisticated, beautifully balanced, and executed with real skill. From the pristine cleanliness and chic decor to the stellar service from Evan and exquisite cuisine, BB's earns full marks. A thoroughly marvelous evening I shall most certainly be returning

Wish I got a closer up of each dish but we all dug in right away. This was my first time dining at BB's, I've always just came in to pick up cake Everything tasted good. Large salad portions. Waited for our server for a tiny bit, wasn't anything crazy, just going to tell you every detail as an honestly Yelper!! Lastly, ask for a tour of the cakes... and make sure you're tongue isn't hanging out or that you're drooling on the ground after they tell you all 15!!

The fries are very very good and so were the two slices of crispy bacon on my sandwich. My lunch sandwich was just okay and was pricier than necessary, cost didn't include fries either...those were an extra $3. Had a bit of an odd interaction with one of the employees where I personally felt like I was being cat-called but when I shot him a look, he pivoted to asking if I was interested in anything in the dessert case. To-go cashier was nice, I did ask him for ketchup and he mentioned the chef should've already put ketchup in the box...the chef did not. Wish some of the seasoning on the fries made it onto my $20 ancho "spice" turkey sandwich. 3 stars because the ciabatta bread, fries, and strips of bacon were good. I was just visiting and maybe had an off-experience but it was still odd compared to all the rave reviews this place has.

Had a fantastic double date tonight celebrating my girlfriend's birthday! We were greeted warmly and given a nice table in the dining room. Our waiter, Evan, was very proactive & offered suggestions with menu items. We started with some cocktails, the gentlemen with the cider beer & an old fashioned. I chose a glass of bubbly & the birthday girl had the fizz cocktail. It was incredible with a fresh blackberry puree. We started with the fried green tomatoes & the calamari, both were delicious! Calamari was prepared well and not too chewy. We shockingly each chose a salad: the bistro steak, the chop chop Asian, the goat cheese, and the salmon. Each one was incredible. Mine was the chop chop and I absolutely loved it! It was HUGE and you can bet I ate every single bite. Loved it!' We finished with the brownie topped with ice cream for the birthday girl, it was extremely tasty! Thanks again to Evan for making our night! He was a fantastic waiter! Would absolutely request him in the future.

Went to BB's today and it's honestly been at least 15 years since I've been there and it is surprisingly the same but even better! It's the way I remembered, elegant and casual at the same time. Great bar, even better dessert bar! Went today with a few girlfriends and it was such a great experience. Our waitress was wonderful and our food was delicious and we absolutely had to do the dessert tour! This place is a classic and I'm so glad we thought to come again today!

BB's is a true Jacksonville staple. Whenever we have visitors in town, taking them to BB's or at least ordering dessert to-go is non-negotiable. Their rum cake and bread pudding are in a league of their own!So moist and decadent! The café itself has a great vibe! Cozy, sophisticated, and romantic, making it a perfect spot for date night. It's no surprise their desserts have earned such a loyal following in Jax. If you haven't been yet, put it on your list!

I had been looking for a chilled grown folks lounge. This place hit the description right on the nail. Great calm vibe, amazing food and excellent customer sevice. I had a blackened grilled fish bit sandwich with fries. Both were delectable! For my drink, an old fashion. They offer a variety of foods, drinks and even deserts. There's a miniature bakery counter in back. The music was just the soulful kind of vibe I was looking for. It wasn't over bearing loud, but soft in the background. You could hold a conversation without yelling over the music. Belle my bartender amd the hostesses were friendly and accommodating. I will defintely be back!

Love this spot for a quick bite before heading out downtown. It's one of my go-tos when we want something easy but still really good. The food is always delicious. The meat and cheese board is perfect for sharing, the steak is a solid choice, and their espresso martinis are so good if you're starting the night with a drink. It's a great place for a quick date night or a casual stop before going out. Easy, cozy vibe and always a reliable pick in Riverside.

Gluten free white truffle pizza

I am so glad that BB's takes in walk ins. Their menu is clearly marked which items are gf. That is awesome to see, and something I found to be lacking in other Jacksonville restaurants. They had a fun happy hour menu too, with a good variety of cheaper drinks and food too. The steak frites were $10, but my heart was set on the gluten free calamari instead. My waitress was Sarah and even though BB's was quite busy, Sarah was fantastic at getting my orders in for gluten free calamari and gluten free white truffle pizza. I ordered a spicy margarita first before moving onto a Black Tie Fizz cocktail. Everything was delicious and I will definitely make a point to come back again if I find myself in Jacksonville again. The gluten free pizza reheated well in the microwave this AM too which is a win. The restaurant itself was really nicely done. The music playing was nice, but not overpowering conversation. I was able to finish a book with my meal.

I FINALLY came to BB's for brunch and loved every minute. What a cute spot, I don't know how I never made it before! First of all, they had popovers, which is one of my favorite things ever - and they were GOOD. I tried the big wedge salad and soup and it was excellent. The steak and eggs and special of the day omelette were also incredible. Everything was well seasoned and cooked perfectly, which is a big deal. I had a paper plane cocktail and it was *chefs kiss*. Our server was on her game and did a great job throughout our meal. We ordered some dessert to go and it was a really fun brunch. I'm looking forward to the next time I get to eat here!

Stopped by BB's before a concert a few weeks ago with my daughters and it did not disappoint. I got the blackened fish sandwich and my daughters got the crab cakes. Everything was really good along with the service, atmosphere and drinks. And we all got the champagne wedding cake to go. Sooooooo delicious

I haven't been back to Bb's for several years because I wasn't impressed the first time I came... but boy was I wrong! Their lunch was spectacular! And Jamie was the best server I have had in a really long time. She was attentive but not overbearing. Always around when we needed something. The ambiance was terrific but I think the tables were a little too close together.... The calamari was on point! So tender and juicy and the sauce was so so delicious, had a hint of curry. The shrimp and grits was orgasmic.... I usually love my grits with lots of cheese, but this dish came with a creamy tomato sauce on the outside that paired so perfectly with the grits it doesn't even need cheese! It also had a delicious tomato jam with it. Unfortunately this dish is only available on Wednesday The steak lunch was kinda chewy but good flavor. The only downside to the menu would be that it has only apps, pizza, sandwiches and salads. I would like to see more entrees!

I recently Visited during their 2026 pizza making competition (an annual event that i was not aware of prior to this visit). 4 pizza pros, 4 pizza rookies going head to head to see who can make the best pie. 2 rounds; 1st round was who can use the secret ingredient (chorizo) the best, 2nd round was a free for all to make the most creative pie they can imagine (Wagyu cheeseburger pizza and Chilli dog pozza to name a few). V sold wristbands that gave access to a buffet of everything made for the competition. I personally suggest the gold band (not sure if they change it every year, but it was gold this year) which came with a complimentary drink and all day happy hour from side car. As always, the food was fresh, hot and did not disappoint. Live dj, great staff and fun atmosphere made the entire visit a memorable event for the family. Combine that with awesome food, a wing eating competition, amazing drinks, and the fact that part of the proceeds went towards the v4v foundation made this an amazing experience, definitely one i will be looking forward to attending next year.

I'll let the photos from other reviews do the talking, but if you enjoy a good backstory, ask about the history of the space. My mission for the night was simple: end the evening with a great gin cocktail. I started with the Donna Bella from the menu. It was well made, but I thought the bitters were a little too forward for my taste. Next, I asked for an off-menu modification: a Water Lily for Teresa, but made with Roku Gin. It was a strong contender--aromatic, balanced, and beautifully floral. If you're a fan of a French 75, this is a fun cocktail to explore. It's less citrus-forward and leans into a floral profile with a character that's hard to compare to anything else. For the final round, I went with bartender's choice. Mick asked a few questions about my flavor preferences and absolutely nailed it. They crafted a cocktail with Roku gin, snap pea cordial, aloe liqueur, egg white, lemon simple, mint, and citrus that was easily the highlight of the night. Fresh, layered, and memorable, it's a drink that deserves a permanent spot on the menu....Mission accomplished. If you're willing to wander beyond the barbershop business front and you consider yourself a spirit explorer, Volstead is well worth the visit. Go for a round...or two. If you're local, this could easily become your staple spot. For what it is, strong craft cocktail bar option. Bartenders choice is the way to go.

We were looking forward to a nice dinner together, and while there were definitely some highlights, the overall experience was a little disappointing. First, the positives! The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, and we really liked the menu and the variety of options. The broccolini was excellent and something I would absolutely recommend. The beets were delicious, and the mushrooms were fantastic. The focaccia, unfortunately, was a bit dry, and the short rib I shared with a friend was extremely fatty, which was disappointing. Where the evening really fell short was the service. Our server seemed rather disengaged from our table throughout the evening. She rarely checked on us, and despite everyone arriving by 7:25, we didn't get our orders placed until approximately 8:15. Our food didn't arrive until around 9:15, making for a very drawn-out dinner with long gaps between courses. At one point, we genuinely wondered whether our order had been forgotten. I understand that serving a party of nine can be challenging, especially when most guests are paying separately, and I certainly try to be mindful of that. However, the restaurant didn't appear overwhelmingly busy. When we arrived, I'd estimate the dining room was about 70% full, with a full bar. By the time we were finishing up, only a couple of other tables remained. What made the service particularly disappointing was watching our server interact warmly and attentively with another large party that arrived after us and finished before us. Perhaps they were regulars, I'm not sure, but the difference in engagement was noticeable. We never really felt that same level of hospitality. Toward the end of the evening, one woman in our party requested her check and waited approximately 30 minutes without the server returning. She eventually went to the bar to settle her bill herself. I don't like judging a restaurant solely on one experience, especially when there were dishes we genuinely enjoyed and the atmosphere was so nice. There is definitely potential here, and I would like to think our experience wasn't typical. Unfortunately, the slow pacing and lack of attentive service really took away from what should have been an enjoyable evening with friends. I hope this was simply an off night, because there were certainly things worth coming back for.
