Great quick service / decent priced fast Korean food. It is crazy to think $12-$13 is almost the new $5 dollar meal but that is just reality now-a-days. The bowls are nicely portioned for the price. I have seen other places that charge $18 dollars for the same amount of rice and meat. Bulgogi is always my go to here. The bulgogi is flavorful and not too fatty so I don't feel horrible after eating it. The spicy chicken and spicy pork are on the spicier side than flavorful spicy. The only gripe I have with this place is that I have bought a side of Kimchi and barely a quarter full. If they are going by 8 oz, the juices must be taking up most of the weight. Parking - there is a small parking lot that can easily get full with Salt and Straw and Undefeated in the same plaza! read more

I have picked up food from here 3 to 4 times, and I have to say that it's a favorite in my household. My picky daughter that doesn't like anything, loves the Spicy Mayo Chicken bowl. We have ordered and tried all the bowls on the menu, and I can honestly say that they're all really good, and it just depends on what you feel like having. My personal favorites are the beef bulgogi bowl and the black pepper chicken bowl. Also, their prices are great. $12-$13 for a bowl is totally worth the portions they give, especially in this economy. I Stopped by for lunch when they first opened. The restaurant is located on the corner, you can't miss it. There's tables and umbrellas for enjoying your food in the fresh air. I ordered a beef bowl, it came with white rice. Very flavorful and reasonably priced. My order was taken right away and my order came out fast. While at work, BBQ+Rice has always been a solid lunch spot. I've tried the Venice location many times and decided to stop by the Silverlake location while in the area. Ordering ahead online was not available, so we decided to order in person. Parking can be challenging. Service was friendly and accommodating. We ordered the Spicy Mayo chicken, which comes with Korean fried chicken, steamed white rice and served with mixed greens, green onions, sesame seeds, and pickled cucumbers. We also ordered a side of pickled cucumbers, which you grab yourself from the refrigerator. I personally didn't care for the pickled cucumbers. They were way too sweet. This dish is a bit spicy for those that like a kick. If you order to go, be aware that your mixed greens may wilt due to the heat of the bowl when it gets covered. The Spicy Mayo bowl was ordered with all sauces on the side and unfortunately they forgot to add the green onions and pickled cucumbers. A lot of pieces in the bowl were batter only. Not a lot of chicken pieces. Overall, not the greatest experience. I'm willing to give it another try. Location is off of Sunset and indoor and outdoor seating is available. read more

Have had this spot on my want to try list for months and finally got the chance to try it! I ordered the bulgogi plate which comes with a lot of toppings including green onions, carrot and cabbage. I got my order to go so did a quick pick up. Business is located in the corner of Sunset so parking is hectic and it's very tiny, but I didn't mind since I just picked up and left. Presentation was good and also hot even though I drove home. The FLAVOR in the bulgogi plate it so amazingly good and mixed amazing with all the toppings. I really liked this cozy place! Everything was very tasty and filling, I especially remember the pickled cabbage, it is magnificent.The taste of the dish is balanced, there is meat and onions and rice and everything is perfectly cooked and you eat and enjoy this moment. I was pleased with the prices, they are more than acceptable and the portions are large. The chairs are certainly beautiful, but terribly uncomfortable. After such a lunch you want to lean back in your chair with pleasure, but there is none, but it is not a problem. Overall, I am very pleased! read more

Place is a goldmine. Great ambiance. Service is really good, portions are big, food tastes delicious AND the prices are great!!! $12 for a large bowl is a steal. Now that's what I'm talking about! This little corner shop may be small in square footage, but it is big in taste and surprisingly even portion (in a part of town where you don't always get the best value for your dollars). I ordered a black pepper chicken bowl here yesterday for lunch and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was! The portion was a good size, maybe a bit small if I was very hungry but a good size for the mid work day. The bowl was filled with many different flavors and toppings. The chicken was cooked well, juicy, with lots of flavor. Can't speak as to the location and service as we got delivery but I would for sure eat here again when I'm in the area! read more

Went to check out the Silverlake Farmers Market and stumbled upon this small little establishment. I got the Spicy Mayo Chicken bowl and my fiancée got the bulgogi bowl. I throughly enjoyed my chicken bowl because in Panda Express terms, the chicken had the crunchiness and consistency of Beijing beef and the chewiness of orange chicken, which is everything I could have ever asked for. My fiancée's bulgogi bowl was unfortunately a little dry, charred, and oily for our liking but not too bad otherwise! BBQ+Rice, similar to Chick+Rice (not sure if they are related but they certainly seem to be), has amazing food for a really good price. It's over $10, but the portions are huge, so if you can manage to stop yourself from eating the goodness, you can easily split into two meals for about $6 - which is unheard of in Silver Lake. Unlike Chick+Rice, the bowls also contain a lot more than just meat and rice, which was nice as I like a meal with some vegetables. read more

My daughter found this place and I can't wait to come back!! The menu is limited, but all the protein choices sound so good!! We each had our own bowl, and it was filling. The service was good. A very comforting bowl option with excellent Korean flavors. Nicely portioned, with a good balance of vegetables and proteins, this is a good quick alternative to many other bowl-type options out there where you may have to patronize a sit-down type restaurant. A nice array of proteins and side options gives this semi-grab-and-go restaurant a good choice. Also, the moderately priced menu is certainly an excellent value in today's marketplace. 3 stars because I usually come here in the day and the kid that works here is super nice. But I just stopped by for an evening meal to get some of the worst service I've had in a long while. I ordered the Black Pepper Chicken and I was already getting a vibe from dude like something was off. The guys in the kitchen are usually really loud and obnoxious so I past it off as the usual b.s.. Until I got my dish and there was no chicken in my chicken dish. So I had to walk up to the counter and ask them to put chicken in my chicken meal. Dude obliged but when he went into the kitchen I heard them chuckling. I figured they had spit in my food or messes with it somehow. So I just tossed it and left. The guy working the counter likes to call everybody "Boss". But what I think is this guy's actual boss should fire him and hire someone who isn't a P.O.S. read more

Got a bulgogi rice bowl and regular chicken (kfc) and chicken dumplings for takeout. Pros are the guy working the cash register was very friendly so service when ordering was good and it was ready fast. Cons is they got my order wrong and the bulgogi bowl is disgusting. This is NOT legit Korean food. The bowl was inedible with such a sickly sweet marinade and the bulgogi meat was not good. Also, I ordered the regular chicken and they gave me the spicy. Chicken dumplings were decent but obviously the premade frozen kind you buy at the market in the freezer section. I called and left a message and didn't hear back by phone. Then I also responding to the square receipt by email. Instead of offering a refund for the bad bowl and wrong item he offered the correct fried chicken next time. I responded letting him know I do not live in Silverlake and also don't want to war there again. Never heard back. read more

He just took our order. Another 20 mins came by before our food was served. OUR FOOD WAS ROOM TEMPERATURE. Short Rib was ok. The macaroni was stale and OLD! It was dry and not fresh! We asked for extra BBQ sauce and that didn't arrive for another 15 mins. We had to wave down another employee to try to get the sauce to us. I wouldn't recommend this place! Horrible service. Didn't even come around to see if we needed anything or if everything was good or not. We came here around 1:30pm on 3/16. The restroom was also out of paper towels and soap from the soda dispenser. Poor quality food! Glad I tried it, so I know to not come back again!

We also saw the burgers from YouTube so got 2 of the Thicc burgers to share among everyone. We got a sides of the Texas chili to try. Everything was great. Our group really enjoyed the food and everyone said the BBQ was some of the best they've had. The brisket was really tender and seasoned well. Everything was seasoned well actually. The burger was great. It was soft, great flavor and was just really solid. One of the best burgers I've had. The ribs were everyone's least favorite, but that just means the other food tasted better. Ribs were still good. All the sides were delicious as well. The Texas chili was great, the Mac and cheese was creamy and the potato salad tasted homemade. We could tell it was made in house.
