Finally decided to try BBQ From the Curb after hearing from family and friends how good it is. I stopped by on a Wednesday, not realizing they're only open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. They happened to be working on a large catering order--lots of food--so I waited. Once they finished, I asked for a 2-meat combo. That's when they let me know they were actually closed and didn't have any sides available, but the owner was kind enough to still offer me brisket. I also asked if I could try a rib, and he threw in two small ribs for me to sample. The ribs were delicious--fall-off-the-bone with a light smoky flavor. The brisket was moist, tender, and had a nice smoky taste. The bark had a heavy dose of black pepper, a bit more than I prefer, but my wife loved it when I brought home the leftovers. Overall, a great experience, especially considering they took care of me even though they were closed and busy with catering. I appreciate the hospitality, and I'll definitely be back to try the tri-tip and chicken! read more

We were in the area for traveling and hadn't ate all day. I say this because almost anything tastes good when you're that hungry. We drove near a small hut with a sign that read BBQ with a small line of people so we figured it must be good. We turned back and found no more customers, but we asked the caller what was popular, she recommended tri tip and brisket. We ordered combination plates with macaroni and cheese as the side. We asked if the plates came with bread. We asked if the Mac and cheese was homemade. DISAPPOINTED. Both meats were heavily salted, and the brisket had tons of fat. The macaroni and cheese was bright orange with tons of garlic and it tastes like I was biting into a brick of sharp cheddar cheese. The bread was a cold King's Hawaiian roll. We also ordered a hot link on the side that was dried up and hard as a rock. The bbq sauce that came with the plates tastes like bottle sauce. Sadly, we did not attempt to eat the food and threw away $45 worth of food. We don't live in the area so we were not sure and expected more from this little spot. First time coming here after hearing great things about it. I like how they have the option to order online. We were coming from out of town so its nice not to have to wait so long. The online ordering had some issues (when ordering the combos that offers two sides, we were unable to select one side, not a second side), but it was still very convenient. We ordered the 3 meats, 2 sides dish with an extra side. Got the tri-tip, ribs and brisket. For the sides we tried the coleslaw, mac n cheese and potato salad. The tri-tip was amazing. It was tender and flavorful. Absolutely delicious. The ribs had good flavor and the meat coukd easily be pulled off the bone. The brisket wasnt the best. Although seasoned well, it was a bit tough and dry. The coleslaw was crunchy and good. The Mac n cheese was delicious with a unique flavor. The potato salad had pickles on it which i thought was different (but i love pickles so it worked for me) was EXTREMELY salty. I came here today to investigate what the smoke was about. The service was fast after I placed my order mid-afternoon if that makes a different. Driven by for the last couple of months and have seen a line which tell me the food is good. I order a 2-slider combo for $17 with brisket and tri-tip. The meat was tender as it should be, moist, not overly smoky and seasoned well. I also order a half rack of ribs for $15, and the portion was fair and tender as well. That brisket was so freaking good. Moist and tender. The spices used to flavor it is bomb... and dipped in the bbq sauce -- chefs kiss. The ribs were okay, but I will never not get the brisket now. Sides were gone and pork belly burnt ends were gone, but I'd love to try those next. Small food stand on the curb, outside of a card casino. No seating anywhere that I saw. Stopped by BBQ From the Curb in Manteca for the first time. Overall, not a bad experience -- but a few things held it back from being a solid five-star visit. Parking isn't very clear. You'll need to park in the casino lot to get easy access, which we figured out after a bit of confusion. When we got there around 1:00-1:30 PM, the owner let us know they were already out of pork belly burnt ends. We weren't planning to order them, but if we had, it would've been disappointing -- especially that early in the day. I ordered the tri-tip and brisket with a side, and also got another brisket plate with a side. We requested mac and cheese and potato salad, but were served chili beans and potato salad instead. That kind of order mistake matters -- especially when you're paying around $25 a plate. I don't usually give passes for incorrect orders. It's really just about listening properly and not rushing. Also worth noting: they serve Hawaiian rolls as the bread on the plates. Honestly, that feels a little cheap. I get it -- running a BBQ business isn't cheap -- but Hawaiian rolls as the default bread feels like cutting corners when you're aiming for top-tier BBQ. A quality piece of toast or cornbread would elevate the whole presentation and experience. Still, I'd come back when I can afford another plate -- hopefully when the order is right and they're fully stocked. The meats are smoked to perfection with balanced flavor profiles not too much or too little of anything. All of the sides are good but pro tip mix the beans with the mac it's the best chili Mac you will ever have!!! My favorites in no particular order - Burt Ends, Brisket, Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage, and them Brisket Nachos Mann!! I will say you should come early because he sells out fast but if you serious about your big backery follow him on Instagram and preorder. This spot is walk up only but has a lot of good parking options because of its great location right next to the card room. First visit: Food is amazing. Great sandwich with tender brisket, pickles, onions and bbq sauce on a soft Hawaiian style sweet bun. Ribs are pull off the bone tender with a tangy sauce. Service was ok. Here is the issue. Very small place with just a few folks working. It's a to-go only joint (formerly a hotdog stand). The line gets long and they have to stop taking orders to catch up with boxing up your food. Took 30+ minutes to get to window to order with about 15 people in front of me. Then another 5 min or so to get my food. I would encourage folks to order on their website (which I found while standing in line). Ambiance? Well not really any except the wonderful smell of bbq. The line rolls around the outside and with our current 100+ weather they may want to think of adding some shade structures before their customers start passing out in line! To wrap it all up...would I go for the food again? Absolutely!! Would I stand in line? NO! I will order online next time and see how it goes!! The hospitality and service were amazing. The young lady at the register and the gentlemen I'm assuming was the pitmaster were friendly and ready for service. It was my first time there and I ordered a bit of everything. What I share is just how I like bbq so it's not like they cook with me in mind. lol I'm just sharing what I personally enjoyed and what I didn't. The pork ribs were too tender for my taste. I like a little give to the meat and it lacked salt. The glaze tasted like sweet ribs. Wasn't my favorite. The brisket was soft and tender, I love that I had more fatty portions than lean (I didn't ask for it but I wasn't mad at it either) it was Smokey and the bark was super peppery I really enjoyed it and my slices also lacked salt.. The Tri Tip was smoked and seasoned to perfection. If anything the Tri tip was my favorite. If I go back I would definitely get more Tri tip. The Pork Belly Burnt Ends were not my favorite. There was a sweet and tangy sauce that covered a bland, crunchy pork belly, that was upsetting given the price I paid to get extra before tasting it first. Another dish that was lacking salt. I should have just kept the original order and gotten more of what I liked at the end. The only side I ordered was the coleslaw, and a friend of mine ordered the potato salad. The slaw was super refreshing and so good. The potato salad had the perfect amount of pickles and mustard it was my favorites here as well. I bought 1 pound brisket, 1 pound beef rib, 1 pound burnt ends no sides, $97, I grabbed it took it home and took pictures before touching anything! Let's say brisket was a good amount, burnt ends was an ok amount, the beef rib was ridiculous, I was in shock when I looked at it! I should have opened the foil at the point of sale because I would tell them to take the beef rib back it cost $28 and had 1/2 pound of meet in it I weighed bone after it was 223 grams about 7.4 ounces! If you get anything here grab burnt ends and brisket they were good but anything with a bone you better check how much meat you get because I thought for $28 8 oz of rib was pretty crazy maybe I'm wrong but just being straight up and $100 enough for two adults without sides maybe 3 people with sides! My husband and I love BBQ... we heard about this place and were sooo excited to try it. We made the hour drive to get there on a Saturday. We expected there to be a long line by all the great reviews but we were second in line. We both ordered the slider combos... which consisted of 2 sliders with your choice of meat and a side. The brisket and the tri-tip were over powered by the strong taste of pepper. The sauce was almost non existent. The bbq sauce was bland as though bought in bulk by some place like Smart and Final. Most bbq places have their own signature sauce or use a well known brand. This place does not. I had Mac and cheese which definitely was not homemade like I expected and my husband said the chili beans tasted like they came out of a can. Unfortunately we were not impressed. It was definitely not worth the $20 each, there was more bread than meat on the sliders. We felt there should've definitely been more meat for the price. This is the best barbecue food in Manteca! I love the burnt pork belly tips as they come drenched in barbecue sauce! They are absolutely delicious! I like a lot of sauce so these stand out to me. Not dry like some of the other places, I won't throw shade and name them lol. I bought a meal and the brisket was one of my choices, loved the flavor and it was so soft like butter! I am not a person who likes to eat fat on meat so the fact I ate the fat on the brisket speaks to how good it is! This place gets very busy and they sell out of everything so if you want to make sure you get what you want, place your order online and schedule a pick up time. The line at this place is always long so you know it's good! This business is located in an old ice cream shop so when you see the building from the street you will see a giant ice cream cone next to the sidewalk in a parking lot. It is right next door to a house, please be respectful when parking and do not block the driveway to the house. We saw someone do that when we went there and the owner of the vehicle had to move their car so the owner of the house could pull into their driveway! Tried out this BBQ place that used to be the old Hob Nob hot dog stand. I tried the tri-tip bbq sandwich, cole slaw, and brisket. I wanted to try the pork belly burnt ends, mac & cheese, and pork ribs, but they were all out. We were here at about 2 pm and they were out of half their items and they opened up at 12 pm! The cole slaw wasn't that great. It was dry and tasted like cabbage salsa from a taqueria. On the otherhand, the brisket they gave me to replace the pork ribs, since they were out, was very tasty. The meat was juicy and cooked to perfection. The brisket had a nice crust to it and I only wish I had asked them for bbq sauce. The trip-tip sandwich was very good. Decent amount of meat and the bbq sauce complimented the sandwich. So my only gripes with this place is that the time to wait after the order was very long. There was already a handful of people waiting for their order so I knew I was going to waiting for a bit. You are basically waiting on the curb as the sign says but hopefully when the weather is decent, maybe some chairs and a table could offer a place to sit and eat. Also, half the food on the menu was sold out after just a couple of hours being open. You'll have to show up here right at opening to make sure you get what you want. I went to BBQ from the Curb for the first time yesterday with great anticipation because my understanding this is the only BBQ spot in Manteca and it was extremely disappointing. I ordered the 1/2lbs meat plate that included 4 ribs and one side(mac n cheese). For starters the ribs were extremely fatty to the point were most of the ribs were uneditable. The mac n cheese looked like they used Kraft Mac n cheese and just poured a homemade cheese sauce over it(1/10). They need to improve their food quality significantly especially at the prices they're charging! read more

Social media raved about this place so decided to give it a try. Sadly this place if overated. We spent $100 and were served very small portions. They need to replace the Hawaiian bread with corn bread. I get it takes time and extra money to make but at $25.00 a plate they should certainly try to improve. I waited WAYYYY too long to go try this place. I've seen the lines driving by and heard great things, but I hadn't made it down until now. First of all, I ordered online, I work most mornings and afternoons, so this option was perfect, and I would highly recommend it. I got the Curb platter so I could try almost everything, for the amount of food it comes with it is TOTALLY worth every penny! When I arrived, it smelled so good that I added an order of the Brisket nachos as well. Jose and the team had my order ready within minutes. Hardly no wait, I got all the food, perfect!
