Cheesecake .... Cheese looking cheesecake !
Denise D.

So I never noticed this little spot so close to home, but I was walking past one day to go to dinner, and when I saw this little cheesecake in the window, I was obsessed. I had to go try it and it did not disappoint. I seriously don't know how they made this little slice of deliciousness, but it was great. The shop is tiny tiny tiny and clean! They have a small selection of delicious looking items. The girl that helped me was super nice and I would definitely go back someday and try something else.

Cute little dessert shop with no dine-in options, just packaged desserts for take away. All the desserts looked very cute. Everything was a bit pricey. Decided to pop in after I had lunch next door. I got 2 egg tarts, corn flake cookies, and a chocolate chip cookie. I think everything came out to about $20? I liked the egg tart but it didn't have me craving for more and the cookies were mediocre. I would probably come back to buy a variety of things to bring to a party or someone's birthday just because everything is packaged so nicely.

Quaint pastry shop in Bayside with delicious egg tarts! This is a grab-and-go store. Not too much standing room for customers, and no seating. Most the the store is taken up by the bakery and pastry prep area. I really liked the egg tarts! Filled with lots of custard and has a hard outer cookie-like shell rather than a pastry shell. Their other pastries were good as well. Convenient parking just next door in the municipal parking lot.

Bbang Lab is a happy place! It's a cozy takeaway with warm colors that spark joy. The most difficult part is choosing what you want to try--or you'll just have to come back on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday again. The cheesecake was a must-try, and it didn't disappoint! I thought it might be a fondant covering because the outside looks so perfect but it's quite soft! The dessert is not only pleasing to the eye but the palate too. I also liked both dacquois I tried--the peach and black sesame. I liked the peach better! The gummy was a great touch. The sesame has a strong flavor and wasn't too sweet. The injelmi tiramisu was another desert that piqued my interest since I love both flavors individually. I didn't think the flavors paired as well together. Overall, Bbang Lab is a creative, innovative, and delicious spot! Would definitely recommend in Bayside.

This past weekend we were in Bayside and noticed this absolutely adorable little bakery off Bell Blvd. I'm often in this neighborhood, so I was quite surprised to find out that this bakery had been open for a few months now (since March) but this was the first time I've noticed it. Bbang Lab is tiny, and the storefront is really discreet looking. If you walk quickly like I do, you will certainly pass it without noticing it. The interior is quite small but bright and cheery. And the desserts are super cute and tasty. These are the types of desserts made with lots of care and in small batches. I ended up getting a slice of their cheesecake, a strawberry and cream dacquoise, an egg tart, a mini chocolate pound cake and a pecan chocolate chip cookie. The cheesecake was shaped like a wedge of yellow cheese--so cute! I loved this tongue-in-cheek version and thought it was a unique twist on a regular "cheesecake". The strawberry and cream dacquoise was also another great dessert. The strawberries were sandwiched between two baked meringue pieces that had a spongy texture. So light and fresh...really loved this one. They sell other versions of the dacquoise, black sesame, matcha, cherry, etc. The egg tart had a nice, crispy, flakey crust with a very smooth, velvety custard. This was my sister's favorite from all of the desserts we got. The mini chocolate pound cake was okay. It was a bit too dense and sweet for me. And the pecan chocolate chip had a nice crunch exterior but chewy interior. Overall, a very favorable first visit here and I will definitely be back. I just wished they had better hours. Right now, they have a limited schedule and are only open Thursdays to Sundays from 11am-6pm.

4.5 stars! My friends & I found Bbang Lab by chance and were immediately drawn by the display of egg tarts. We each got one to try, & I also got a lemon earl grey pound cake. The egg tart filling is delicious - think a perfect, freshly made, warm portugese egg tart, and that's what you're getting here. The tart was different from what I'm used to though. I was expecting a flaky buttery tart, but this is a bit more like a crispy tart shell? Regardless, worth trying! The pound cake was also really moist and delicious. The creativity here is next level - they have a cheese shaped cheese cake!! It's also packaged in a way to give it picnic vibes. Honestly everything here is so cute and I can't wait to come back to try other pastries!

I discovered this place while walking back to my car, which I parked right in front of. The pastries looked so good in the window, I knew I had to go in! It's such a cute little bakery with so many unique, delicious looking desserts. The girl up front + owner were so friendly and helpful. There were 2 things that really caught my eyes-the cheese cake that was shaped like a wedge of yellow cheese and the Macau style egg tart. The cheese cake tasted like a super soft cheese cake and kind of soggy but still good. The egg tart (my first time trying Macau style) was sooo good! The crust was crispy & flaky and the custard filling + caramelized bruleed top was creamy & smooth. Not too sweet either. I prefer this over the the Portuguese and Hong Kong style ones. Literally the BEST. EGG TART. EVER. A bit pricey for $3.50 ea but worth it, I want more!!

Super unique shop! From the pictures it seemed like a spacious place but it's really small. They have creative options and recommend getting there by 1-2pm before their popular options usually sell out by. I got the black sesame mochi, cheesecake, injeolmi tiramisu, black sesame scone, and the black sesame dacquoise. Unfortunately they didn't have other dacquoise flavors except for the strawberry one. I was really looking forward to the red bean and butter options but they didn't have it. Despite the aesthetics of the pastries, it didn't live up to my high expectations. It was good but not extraordinary like how it seemed. The injeolmi tiramisu was a good spin on the usual flavor. Be careful not the inhale or the powder is gonna make you choke. The black sesame scone was a favorite for my older family members. The dacquioise was interesting but it wasn't that great tasting to me. I think the aesthetics really made me look forward to all of this but the taste wasn't up to par. The taste can be compared to that of cheaper pastry businesses. I still recommend trying it once.

Cute small bakery in Bayside! Everything inside is cute and you wanted to buy them all at the same time you don't want to eat it because they are too cute. Location: It is located in Bay Side. It is near the municipal parking. The bakery is small inside but the displays are so cute and whimsical! Good displays too, mostly from Ratatouille! Service: She was looking at us when we were taking pictures as if it is not allowed. We asked her recommendations and she somewhat clueless. I hope the employee can be a little enthusiastic and know the products. Food: You have to pick the pastries that you want from the display. Everything is individually wrapped. CHEESE CAKE: so cute cause it is shaped as a cheese. The taste is a typical cheesecake, the graham is inside rather than at the bottom. MATCHA WHITE SCONE: perfect texture, good for hot tea. The matcha does not have that strong flavor. EARL GREY COOKIE: i forgot the name but it has fruit in it, i like it because its not that sweet. Just couldn't taste any earl grey. Lots of pecans which I love! FRESH STRAWBERRY MILK: it taste good cause the strawberries are fresh, i finished it in one seating! Price rating: 7/10, not bad at all. Definitely will come back here cause they run out of the egg tarts! They said it is really good!

Such a cute little place with fantastic egg tarts, too bad they closed but accordingly to their instagram account it looks like they are going to re open else where and may be doing collab and have pop ups

If you're looking for unique but tasty desserts this is definitely the place for you!!! This is a small spot right off of bell Blvd and their storefront is pretty small, can only hold a few people and their usually pretty busy most days that they are open. Some of my favorite items from them was this cheesecake shaped as a slice of cheese, the earl grey madeleine and the tiramisu. They have a lot of unique desserts so definitely check them out. They are on the pricier side but I think it's def worth for the aesthetics as well as the flavor!

Me and my sister swung by this cute little joint on a random weekday afternoon and it was perfect because no one was around, and the store front was tiny! We decided to try a few different things including their cheesecake, red velvet cake, egg tarts, and a black sesame cream puff type of pastry. We also tried their strawberry milk which was the star of the show!!! The lovely store attendant mentioned that the milk was lactaid, so it shouldn't upset our stomachs, super fab touch and just as promised, it didn't upset our stomachs! We thought everything was really really good..... but I had to knock off a star because the smell of American cheese was so overpowering. Admittedly we couldn't quite pinpoint from which of the treats the smell was coming from, but it was quite potent, despite the fact that everything was absolutely delish! Would come back next time I'm in the neighbourhood!!

Long story short, the desserts don't taste as good as they look. I picked up four different items to try, guess there wasn't much chemistry between them and me. The egg tart has a nice eggy custard, but the egg tart shell wasn't great. The matcha raspberry cookie is a little odd as the bitter flavor from matcha and the sour flavor from raspberry jam don't go well to me. There wasn't any "creme brulee" flavor in the scone either. Last but not least, the famous cheese shape cheesecake is an odd combo to me as well, the outside texture is soft like mousse or melted cheese, then inside is solid graham crackers. I may prefer inside to be a relatively softer texture like chiffon cake. Overall, I am glad I finally tried this place, but don't think I will return.

Cute small dessert shop. No seats inside so takeout only. The cheesecake was good. The egg tart was mediocre.

The lady who I assume is the boss said she had held a pop-up shop about two years prior which blew up, hence what we see here. The selection here was deceptively small compared to chain bakeries, but it didn't take us long recognise how much power the smaller selection packs and, actually, how the selection really is not small at all. The matcha red bean loaf grabbed my attention straight away and didn't disappoint, but their red bean bun was just as impressive, as it's a more bread-y counterpart to the fluffy versions other bakeries typically have. The onioissant is definitely experimental and worked better on the chive bacon cream cheese one than on the pollack roe, which was a bit too much on the salty and fishy side for my liking. Their chocolate horn is at least twice as big as a typical one you'll find at other bakeries and has a rich dark chocolate filling which was a pleasant surprise. Their coffee brioche pastry was another hit, thanks to the strong coffee filling and delicate layers of pastry. There's ample tables and chairs, beverage menu, and I'm sure we'd come hang if we lived closer. I can't wait to go back.

Been wanting to try this dessert shop/cafe for a while (those viral videos helped). They offer…read moretraditional Cantonese-style desserts & some hot foods in a cute modern cozy cafe setting. I got the ($14) Pandan jelly with Mango & Durian (sago pearls & coconut milk). I ordered it to go thinking the dish would be too big to finish, but it's actually very light and refreshing, and not heavy at all. There were diners there sharing one large shaved ice and I assumed most of the dessert soups would be just as big. But usually Chinese desserts are not overly rich or heavy. The staff said that they could switch out the Durian for extra mango, but they were nice enough to pack a little bit of Durian on the side for me to dry - and no! The whole dessert doesn't smell like durian. Everything was packed extremely well - the liquid was in its own little dispensing pouch. Very nice attention to detail. Pandan is an herby vanilla flavor from Southeast Asian. I think The noodles were made out of rice flour? It was like a soft creamy pudding thick noodle. You can easily scoop into them alongside the mango, coconut milk, sago pearls. Every part of the dessert was very fresh and not too sweet! Had to control the late night snack, and save the rest for the next day. Don't think this kept well, there was a lot of liquid that seeped out of the tapioca pearls or noodles (delicious pandan flavor still!)? But it still wasn't too stiff the next day. Excited to try as other items like the ginger, milk, pudding, but I think I made an excellent choice with this dish, and the price point seemed high at first, but each ingredient to be made fresh on the same day. I'll be back! Curious about the hot café foods too.

I tried the durian mango coconut pudding, the taro with mochi dessert, and the ginger pudding and…read morethey were all bangers! Flavor profiles were hitting in all directions I didn't know which one to pick as my favorite! Durian mango coconut pudding - Durian wasn't overpowering at all and the mango shined in this dessert. The mango was nice and sweet, yet tart, soft and not at all unripe. The durian bits were creamy and custard-y, while the coconut pudding served as the perfect base for the dessert. Light and smooth Taro with mochi dessert- This was a taro sweet soup and had the consistency as black sesame soup. The taro was potent and the aroma was very prominent. The mochi was nice and soft, yet chewy. I was not expecting to like this one as much as I did. Ginger pudding - Utterly delicious. The ginger flavor and taste was insanely strong and the pudding was jiggly soft. Not too sweet and almost tasted spicy in a sense from the ginger. Super solid pudding. I'd come back just to get this again honestly.
