We ordered 80$ worth of food at the front counter and tipped 20 percent assuming they would bring the food to our table. Very disappointed that we tipped for nothing. The chicken was good but overly breaded. We tried three different kinds flavors. The honey soy and honey garlic tasted the same to me. Those were crispy and crunchy. But on the other hand, the Gangnam style was more like stir fried wing dings because it was covered with a black pepper sauce and the breading was soggy. I didn't like the pickled radishes either, it tasted like plain vinegar (no one beats cafe soho radishes). The portions look very large for a half order, but i think it's because of the batter and breading. read more

The fried chicken was not dry at all. Actually taste a good level of spice. Side of fries super crispy which I love. Also love the bubble tea. Tapioca actually chewy. Would definitely come again. read more

Ok so I know this place just opened up and grand openings put their best food forward. Sooo with that said the chicken was amazing. I ordered the honey garlic and he was well seasoned and crisp to perfection. That chicken didn't even make it home. I killed it in the car.. hopefully later it will change continue to have the quality food. read more

I'd never been but I saw the reviews and decided to give it a try. They said the Honey Garlic was the most popular so I ordered 10 Boneless and they were extra crispy, sweet, and full of flavor. If you like crispy fried chicken you won't be disappointed. @foodielifemac read more

bb.q Chicken Upper Darby - Honey Garlic Chicken Wings! The BEST you could ever eat! Very moist, very crispy & perfectly seasoned. - Korean Near Me - Upper Darby, Pennsylvania

This is my new chicken spot... The chicken is AWESOME!!! I tried the original olive oil chicken and the secret spicy chicken and was beyond satisfied. The chicken was nice and crispy and the secret spicy sauce had the perfect balance of sweet and spice. The staff was very pleasant and polite, while the restaurant was very clean and inviting to eat it. Overall it was an outstanding experience and I will DEFINITELY be back for my chicken fix. I can't wait to try all of their other sauces. They've got a new customer on their hands. read more

Great tasting fried chicken with nice service. This restaurant is a breath of fresh air and has a more modern college feel compared to the surrounding area. Inside you'll find TVs playing popular K-pop MVs and comfortable booths under modern lamps for you dine in experience. It takes a little bit to get your food, but that's because they fry and prepare it fresh. Along with fried chicken you can also order milk teas with the usual flavors you'd expect. Overall I think the restaurant is great, I'll definitely be back for more. read more

I wasn't really impressed. People brag about this place but I didn't understand what the hype is about. I ordered wings they were pretty basic unfortunately. I probably will never go back. I'm still on a search for a place in Philadelphia that actually has good wings. It's getting frustrating. LOL read more

Korean fried chicken is probably one of my favorite dish and I am so glad bb.q chicken opened in Upper Darby! It's a convenient for people that live in the suburbs who do not want to drive all the way to Chinatown or Cheltenham to get their Korean fried chicken fix. While the chicken here aren't as big or as crunchy as the franchise in Chinatown, it's still a great spot to hangout, listen to K-pop while enjoying some fried chicken and bubble tea. The chicken is deliciously juicy. The sauces at times make the coating soggy so there won't be much of a crunch. Definitely try out the hot spicy chicken and honey garlic! read more

I ordered a whole olive golden chicken, honey garlic wings, and kimchi fried rice for 3 people. The chickens came with a side of cole slaw. We didn't know if it was going to be good since we've had quality issues with a few other restaurants during this time of quarantine. I'm happy to report that was not the case here. Although we live about 25 mins away, the chicken "survived" the drive. We thought we were going to get soggy chicken but they were perfectly crispy and DELICIOUS!! My husband, a picky eater, even liked it. The fried chicken was not greasy and didn't have an oily taste like Poppye's or KFC. The pieces were smaller than those places so plan accordingly. The cole slaw was sweet and yummy. The kimchi fried rice was ok, don't worry about spicy. Overall, the food was delicious; the contactless order process was easy and appreciated! read more

After hearing about the wonders of Korean fried chicken, I decided to experience it for myself and stopped by bb.q chicken. I ordered the half chicken with the secret spicy sauce and a side of radish. After this experience, I am thoroughly hooked on this chicken and dream of returning the moment I'm in the area again! As soon as I returned to my car, with my order in hand, I could smell the heavy aroma of garlic and ginger, fresh garlic and ginger, which was a sign that the chicken was going to be incredibly flavorful. And despite the pieces being tossed in a moderately thick sweet and spicy sauce, they still had plenty of crunch; even the left over pieces were still a bit crispy, after sitting a couple hours later. I will definitely return and will try other menu items along the way! read more

I wanted to give 3.5 stars but yelp did not give an option for half stars. Taste: 4 star! Especially their "hot spicy" flavor in the half or whole chicken section of their menu. Good level of spice! The chicken was very juicy (even the breast meat) and the batter was not too thick and was a good amount. Portion: 3 star. From the "Fried Whole Chicken" section of their menu we got half Golden Olive Chicken and half Hot Spicy Chicken. As you can see in the picture the portion is very inconsistent. Both being order of half a chicken it should not be drastically different. We were told that we should be getting at least 10 piece of each flavor but got only 5 pieces of the Golden Olive. The cashier may have confused it with the wings. Also, there were boneless and small pieces of fried batter (with no meat) for the Hot Spicy flavor mixed in with the bone-in pieces. The people at the cash register were unsure of things when asked about the menu/flavors. I know that the business is very new, but I feel as though it would be beneficial and customers will have a better experience if the people who worked there were more knowledgeable of the menu. Especially for people who are new to tasting BBQ Chicken. :) read more

Been to this place a few times now and it's been amazing. Definitely better than other places (I.e Bonchon). Tastes great and ingredients seem fresh. It's normally very busy so sometimes there's a wait so plan accordingly. Highly recommend! read more

This chicken is so crispy! The honey garlic was amazing. The secret sauce could use more heat. The fries I could not stop eating. A great meal all. Will definitely be ordering from here again. read more

Best korean fried chicken in the area. Must call ahead of time. Garlic soy chicken is my favorite!

The batter is pretty good, maybe one of the best, but I'm questioning how fresh the chicken is??? The chicken taste like it's been frozen for a month or two and defrosted. I've had wings from here more than a few times and the chicken does not seem always fresh, more often it's not. If you're all about the batter then you will like the wings. read more

Amazing fried chicken. Always flavorful and juicy I recommend everyone try korean fried chicken. It will change your world

I can't feel my tongue. I should've listened to the three chili peppers under the order. I'll probably never taste again. Would come back for a second round of pain, though. you should try it if you don't have sensitive tastebuds. 10/10 read more

Best chicken you'll ever eat. I got the honey bbq and it was amazing!! Perfectly cooked!! Also they offer bubble tea here which was really good as well! Check it out! You won't be disappointed read more

The place is ok. The only best part of the chicken is the outside/skin. It is crispy and has good flavoring. However the chicken meat itself is bland. This was my second time ordering because I was craving for crispy Korean chicken. It didn't change and the outcome was the same. Not as good as places like Bonchon chicken. Probably won't order from here again. Sorry to say. read more

I love korean fried chicken/wings and I'm so glad this place is so close by! If you're a fan of Cafe Soho or Bonchon but you live in the suburbs and those places are too far of a drive, then this place is for you! read more

I love this Korean fried chicken place if you're nowhere near the northeast or center City. I usually do have good experience here even though they mistakenly gave me 20 out of 30 wings. But that's the GrubHub layout with their system. But other than that they were willing to make my correct 10 more. Still best chicken place read more

Overall, I like their wings. Fresh, tasty. I don't usually give bad reviews. This is the third time have had problems with my orders. The first two times, I don't have enough wings with my order. Complained, no further explanation for me. The third time gave me boneless wings instead of regular wings but charged a regular wing price (overcharged). read more

Very nice people here. The chicken taste delicious, very crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. It doesn't have an oily feel like most places do. I usually just get the golden olive chicken! I hope to try out more flavors the next time I come visit! Their kimchi fried rice is my favorite here, pretty flavorful. I like taking the chicken skin and making a taco with the rice on the inside read more

Amazing chicken!! A bit overpriced though but I still can't help coming back again and again

Outstanding chicken, blended teas and service. Highly recommend calling ahead as it's made to order but well worth it!!

YES LORD! I heard a lot of amazing comments about this chicken and I was looking forward to tasting it. One of my best friends had a party, and she served hot and fresh chicken from this location. She had all of the flavors, as well as the regular salt and pepper (which quickly became one of my favorites). Everything looked and smelled so good! They are cooked extremely crispy with no greasy feel. Seasoned to the bone! This was a plus since nobody wants fried chicken where all of the flavors are in the crust and the chicken is still bland. Even though Popeyes is my absolute favorite fast food, BB.q. has truly stepped up the fried chicken game. 2 cons... one is from me and another is from another friend who has physically been to this location. 1) They are not cheap at all. You will need some $$ to get this wonderful chicken, and it's definitely worth it. It just can't be a regular visit! (At least that's what my wallet says! LOL) 2) The parking is horrible. Period. Lastly- they cook your chicken fresh, so it would be best to put your order in through their website and let them know when you will be there or you'll be waiting for a while. A++++ recommendation! read more

Chicken is pretty good but not crispy/crunchy. It is chewy or at least the spicy one I got was chewy. Despite that, it was still flavorful. However, even after asking me what sides and my being the only customer there, they still gave me the wrong sides. read more

I prefered this place over Bon Chon and So Ho. Their chicken are made to order so allow 20-30mins wait. I ordered the soy garlic and fire wings, both are delicious, crispy and fresh. It's mostly a takeout place so next time I'll give them a call ahead. The staff here are friendly, I will defdinitely return. read more

Bombbbbbbb Korean fried chicken. I have tried this place twice now, and both times the food was fresh and nicely seasoned. Their sauces are sweet based, even the spicy one. They don't reheat well, but that's the case with any fries chicken. I would recommend if you're in the mood for fried chicken with extra crunch and flavor! read more

Now I don't have to leave upper Darby to get amazing Korean chicken wings! BBQ chicken as quickly became a favor for me and my children! The staff is friendly... The food is amazing... And we don't have to leave upper Darby! You can't get any better than that! If you haven't tried it yet you definitely need to! And they just told me that they're going to start making kimchi and kimchi fried rice. read more

I discovered this place recently and was absolutely amazed at how good it was. The chicken tasted fresh - moist - flavorful! The breading was crunchy and so good. I had the secret spicy chicken - it was spicy but not scorching or unbearable - and had a Thai sweet/spicy vibe. The employees were so friendly, the service was quick, the prices were reasonable and the place was spotlessly clean. I was impressed. I recommend it! read more

Fantastic dining experience at BBQ chicken. They have a variety of boneless and bone-in Korean style chicken wings. We very much enjoyed the boneless original olive, honey garlic and secret spicy wings. All the sauces are made fresh daily. Portions are generous and daikon radish is served with the chicken wings. Salads and fries are additional side options. Also they offer a variety of teas including bubble tea. We enjoyed the strawberry basil, coconut slushie and mango slushie or iced teas. Highly recommended and we look forward to returning very soon. read more
