Still one of my favorite Korean fried chicken chains in metro Atlanta. I've been to the Duluth, Doraville and Johns Creek locations and I think they are all pretty consistently similar. I placed my order over the phone and then we headed to the restaurant to pick up. We had seen online that there was outdoor seating so we hoped to take advantage since we had the pup with us after a dog park outing. Unfortunately, per the employees, the outdoor seating was not available at the time. No matter, we decided to just head home to enjoy our chicken and kimchi fried rice! But before heading out, I took a couple photos of our food. The box was sturdy and high quality - no need to worry of a chicken wing spillage accident here! The chicken was both crispy and juicy, crispy skin/breading with juicy tender chicken inside. While I can't fully describe the exact flavor of the Secret Sauce chicken we ordered, J would 100% order it again. Kimchi fried rice was standard - good pairing to the chicken, too. Tried their chicken recently and found it to be really good. Interesting concept/chain from South Korea serving up Korean fried chicken and Korean sides. A nice change from our American outlets. Restaurant is typical fast food type please though nice with a decent beer selection. Order ahead of time or prepare to wait 20 minutes as everything is made to order. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the difference. It's spacious, spotless, and so welcoming. They even have a handwashing station right by the entrance (love that detail). Parking is convenient too- spaces available right in front of the entrance and in the back, which makes it easy even during busy hours. Pro tip: Download their app and create an account to earn points on your food orders. If you're coming here often (and you will), those rewards add up! Love that they offer a single serving portion as part of the lunch special as many similar places only offer giant/expensive portions that need to be shared. I'm not 100% on this place. My son wanted to try it, so I went to the website, thought we could try it, so I signed up for rewards and app. When we came in, we were seated then instructed to order and pay with QR code. I asked if I should order in the app so I would earn rewards and he wasn't sure. We were given the most amazing pickled radishes! I could eat them all day! We ordered the fried dumplings that tasted very fresh and perfectly fried. Everything warned us the food would take at least 20 minutes to cook and it didn't take that long. I ordered the honey garlic boneless chicken and thought I was spicier than I expected; not a garlic kind of spice, but like a chili heat. It's not inedible, but not what I was looking for. My son got Gangjeong boneless and really enjoyed it. It has more of a kick than mine, but expected. I live the cinnamon in it. The batter on the chicken is very crispy even with the sauce. I didn't like a strange, chewiness that I can't identify. Maybe this is all very authentic, and I just am too unfamiliar with. It's just too expensive for what you get. It's nicely done inside, but it's paper "boats" and plastic forks. Forget about cutting anything. There aren't any fountain drinks. They offer water, or you can buy cans or bottles of drinks. Wow!! We have finally had the chance to check out bb.q Chicken Johns Creek and boy did it not disappoint! We came on a Thursday evening to pick up some chicken for a Christmas party and had the pleasure of eating a few wings and sides while there. The owner was there and man, what a friendly and welcoming vibe we got. We heard a little about their business practices and her story and were quite impressed. From using fresh oil, and not reusing oil over and over like a lot other competitors, in their cooking constantly, and using only the finest ingredients imported straight from Korea you could truly taste the quality in every bite of the chicken! The cooks are some of the best in the business and their management is top notch! That speaks highly of ownership and their ability to hire and keep high quality staff! My mouth is drooling just thinking about the crispy, and fresh chicken and can't wait to stop in again to enjoy some Chi-maek (Chicken and brewskies). We went on a Friday night to celebrate my son's 21st birthday. We chose the location for their draft beer, which was very good. But the food was phenomenal. We ordered the whole chicken (half original/half secret sauce), 1 order of soy garlic wings, 1 order of gangnam wings, fries and rose dukbokgi. The gangnam wings were my favorite. Perfectly savory, juicy with crispy exterior. Peppery but not spicy. My sons loved the soy garlic. The original was yummy, dipped in the rose sauce. We also got an order of fried mandu (very good) and cheese balls which were seriously otherworldly. We all said we must return to eat those again. Crisp, hot, soft, chewy cheese heaven. But the absolute highlight of the evening was Kristin, our server. She was helpful, attentive and kind. She really made our birthday dinner memorable. What a delightful dinner! My son wanted to try this place, so we did. I was amazed at the huge portion sizes for the chicken and the fries. We ordered a half and half boneless wings with original and secret sauce, beef dumplings, fries, and drinks. We ended up taking probably 2/3 of our order home. We did dine in and ordering via QR code was fine, the service was attentive and friendly and the food came out pretty quickly. Food here is really good. Definitely the best Korean fried chicken I've had in a while. Staff is really friendly, both times I've come here there's always sitting available with soft K-pop playing in the background. They carry on top, which is one of my favorite ales to drink. Could be a bit pricey, depending on your budget, but definitely worth the price in my opinion. Wings are extremely crispy and delicious! I would also recommend their garlic oil as well. Definitely my favorite on their menu. Edit: removed a Star from 4 to 3. After receiving our food no employee came to check on us. Kinda wish I didn't pre- tip when ordering because besides bringing the food to our table we did everything (got our water, grabbed the Togo boxes, etc). This place is very self serve. Definitely doesn't warrant a tip in my opinion. Service needs to be tweaked if you're gonna ask for tips. read more

Wasn't too crazy about the secret sauce but the spicy galbi sauce was amazing! The kimchi fried was a bit dry but still tasty!

My wife and I ordered two different chicken/rice bowls (spicy and teriyaki) and both were delicious. Because they cook the chicken when ordered, it was fresh. And, there wasn't much coating on the chicken. Finally, it was a large bowl so we had leftovers for a very reasonable price. If you visit during a busy time you may have to wait 30 minutes or so for your order so enjoy their $5 beer like I did (my order took 18 minutes). I don't live in the area which is too bad as I would definitely visit often! read more

I want to proudly announce that I have been buying chicken from bb.q Chicken in John's creek for well over a year now and it never fails to impress with their innovative recipes and products. All the workers are extremely conscientious and never fail to amaze me each time. Whenever I go inside the restaurant, the atmosphere is breathtaking. The cozy tables and plants; as well as the attention seeking menu that I can never lay my eyes off of. Each angle of the setting is rigorous and precise with care. Everyone is so dedicated to treat the customers well with satisfaction and leaving out with a stellar box of delicious chicken waiting to be eaten. The first bite I took was breathtaking and insightful; it was such a pleasure having to consume it. My personal favorite is the honey garlic chicken due to how crispy and crunchy the chicken is. I can't help but admire how phenomenal it tastes and how much thought was put into this box of chicken. I want to just take a moment and respect all the workers to take time out their day to make sure all customers are happy with their food. Came to try the Johns Creek BBQ Chicken since we were in the area and it was pretty empty on a Saturday night. FOOD: Happy to review that the taste is up to par with the Suwanee and Duluth location. We got the large wings and were happily shocked at the size of the wings. They are huge but seasoned very well, crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside. SERVICE: Unfortunately didn't get a chance to get the server's name but he was great! Made sure to let us know it would take 20-25 min for the chicken to come out since they are made fresh to order and let us know when the last call for food was. He checked in on us regularly and was very friendly! OVERALL: I do think the chicken is fried in cleaner oil than the other stores from my past couple experiences. They serve lots of local beer and a Coors Light Beer Special at the moment so I would recommend trying it out! read more

My friend and I stopped by for quick dinner. BBQ Chicken did not disappoint. The food came out fast after we ordered. We order rose tteopokki and cheesling wings. They give you 1 free picked radish as banchan. The food was delicious. Rose tteopokki was just the right amount of spicy and creamy. Cheesling wings were crispy on the outside and still juicy inside. In an effort to improve the experience but making all ordering digital, they've eliminated the role of their staff, who are always lovely. The entire interaction I've had was, "have you been here before? Good. Use the QR code." I was forced to order and pay PLUS tip, within a minute of arriving. Tell me...who am I tipping exactly? I just served myself. Does it come off of my bill? I just did your job and you have the balls to use 18% as the lowest end tip? Not as cool as you think. Efficiency is great but at what cost? The more I write, the madder I get. Why tip? I served myself. Did you improve the food? Probably not...Apparently I work here now. Also, plastic pints...and I still get a cheap plastic fork everytime because, I assume, I'm white. I'm all for change, but good changes only please. Oh it gets better. Apparently, when I took my own order, I hit the wrong button. But the manager can't swap out for the right beer. 500% markup in draft, but you can't make it right? Nice. I must've missed this day in my training, since I work here. This used to be better than Kimchi Red. No more. Looks like you're not making money; plastic drafts, and paper containers for everything? I had to do a pick up order this time around and my food was hot and ready when I picked my food up. The Korean Fried Chicken here is amazing. We got the tteokbokki and original boneless. The seasoning for both are amazing and the chicken was fried so well. The tteokbokki is also cooked well and has a pretty strong spicy kick to it. The service is pretty fast considering they fulfill orders to order, so if you're looking to grab it without waiting too long, I would recommend calling to order ahead. Been here a couple times. Nice that a bbq spot opened up JC and don't have to drive all the way over to Duluth. It also sucks that it's close to the gym and my friends and I are too tempted to get food here after. So far, I've tried the Gangjeong, Spicy original, galbi, and cheesling flavors of chicken. Gangjeong is like a cross between the sweetness of the sesame and a hint of gochujang spiciness, spicy original is pretty hot even for someone who tolerates it, galbi has a sweet stickiness with a hint of smoke, and the cheesling is their version of snow chicken (powdered dusting of cheese). My favorite is probably the gangjeong, cheesling is good in moderation but too much of it got very heavy. It tasted a lot more artificial than other snow chicken places and I have a feeling it's because of the yellow tinge (compared to the usual white Parm color). Sides I've tried are the kimchi fried rice and fries. The fried rice portion is pretty small, all you get is a small Korean stone bowl sized portion. I was also missing the crispy bits in the fried rice too. Fries are crinkle cut, pretty standard and fried well. Good place for groups, clean, and good service. No complaints. read more

We saw the sign that this new place was open so decided to check it out. This restaurant is nestled in the plaza next to Jersey Mikes. They're on the end cap so parking spots in the front fill up, no worries parking behind the plaza too. Walking in we were greeted by friendly waitstaff and noted how clean all the seating was - it's a fresh new open. We were quickly seated and explained how it all works as first timers. The medium chicken portion serves 1-2 (absolutely enough for 2, portions were big!) The sides are family style too - for us was enough for 3+, took leftovers home too. So for the good stuff - the chicken. We had honey garlic & soy garlic. The chicken crunches exactly as you would hope and it was fresh too. They hand sauce each piece ... tasty! There is ample parking by the restaurant. Additional parking in the back and there is a door you can walk through. The dining area was spacious and clean. We were seated right away. Lots of different flavors of chicken to choose from. You can also do whole chicken, boneless or wings. There is also alcoholic drinks available. French fries: came out first, was nice and crispy! I wish they had other sauces aside from just ketchup. Rose Ddeok-Bokki: cheesy and less spicy version rice cake. There is rice cake, half an egg, fish cake and cabbage in there. The sauce was delicious, we dipped our fries in it. Honey garlic wings: medium order. Outside was nice and crispy, very flavored! The wings were all good sizes too! A bit too sweet for my liking after 2 but the kids loved it. Service was good too. Attentive and checked up on us a few times.
