This place was recommended to us and we loved it! Didn't take too many photos but we loved everything we got. Highly recommend the cheese fries, cheese corn, and the Gangnam Style wings. The wings are huge. We got the 16 piece to share between us and our child and took the majority of them home. (In addition to sharing the bulgogi rice bowl and appetizers) read more

I've visited twice now in the past two weeks because the food was so good! My waitress even recognized me. This restaurant is on the smaller side, but I haven't had trouble getting seated even on a Saturday during dinner. I believe it's also a popular take out spot. One thing to know before coming here is they make everything to order. Expect about a 20-30 minute wait on your wings. This is so worth it though! Even with the wings covered in sauce, they as super crispy! While it may seem a bit pricey, expect $14-$17 dollars for a small, this was enough to feed 2 people with the addition of an order of the sweet potato fries. I've tried the secret sauce, galbi, and spicy galbi now. The spicy galbi was my favorite. The pickled radish that comes with your order pairs perfectly with that spicy kick! The sauce can get kind of messy, so I would recommend the boneless wings if you don't want to use a wet wipe after eating (the wipes are provided at the end of your meal). read more

Excellent new wings spot. Heard from word of mouth and didn't regret it. Wings are huge . Perfectly sauced and topped. We'll definitely be back even though it's a bit out of the way for just wings. You can also get 1/2 a chicken if you want. read more

My friend and I recently stumbled upon bb.q Chicken Castleton when looking for a dinner spot. We were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. We got serviced very quickly for a Friday evening. It wasn't too busy and it was right before closing. The waitress was quite lovely and gave us good service and suggestions when we asked questions such as how spicy the hot was. My friend ordered the Korean sausage and rice cake skewers. I had never had that before and she said that it was good. I tried it and liked it as well. I ended up ordering the kimchi fried rice. It had spice to it, but with water it was pretty good as well. She also liked her ddeok-bokki as well. I definitely want to go back and try the Korean fried chicken next time. Many of the other customers near us were having the Korean fried chicken. read more

We love ordering takeout from here as a treat. The chicken is always hot, crispy, and delicious. Their staff is also super friendly!

Incredible experience, definitely worth a try! I was impressed by the quick and friendly greeting at the host stand, as well as the attentive service from multiple staff members checking in on our experience. This level of attention really enhanced our overall customer experience, which was already fantastic due to the excellent menu and delicious food. The variety on the menu tempted me to try multiple items, and I will certainly be returning for more. The chicken dish I ordered was perfectly portioned and full of flavor. I am excited to come back to this themed restaurant, even if just for takeout. Additionally, it's great to see growth in this shopping center area. read more

i got my entree 30 minutes late and wrong. I had previously asked my server what the entree came with and when they brought it out something from the entree was missing (rice cakes) and when I informed them they said they would bring them out soon. 15 minutes passed by and I ask for them and they said that they don't come in the entree anymore. so why couldn't they say that at the beginning?? i asked to speak to a manager and they said they don't have one. But I get a guy that's "in charge of the kitchen" and he was so unprofessional and rude. He argued with me saying he wouldn't take it off the bill or remake it when it was clearly a issue on their side. All he said was he could give me a side of small fries for free (why would I even want that??) he argued with me and walked away not fixing anything. read more

I enjoyed the chicken here! I liked the special sauce the best and liked the pickled radish that came with it. The tteokbokki was good too :) The waiters were very kind and helpful and I would definitely come back when I'm back in town. I've only had take out so dining in might be different. As others have mentioned, we waited a long while for them to finally open - I believe it's a first for Indy to have a Korean chicken placed owned and operated by someone Korean. Not that other chicken places are bad, but they always didn't keep it 'authentic' in terms of K-Chicken. I've tried the Secret Spicy, Original, Spicy Original, and Cheesling. My preference is the Spicy Original and Secret Spicy. The Cheesling wasn't bad, but too much cheese seasoning for my taste. I've always preferred fried and the Original was too heavy for me. But the Spicy Original was better since it had a kick to it. Overall, the price is too high - it's pricier here than Chicago (where I'm used to having it), but was told that Texas had the same price point so I guess it isn't too overpriced. I'd like to try dine-in sometime. I heard it's better to have it right as it come out because the take out, after a while, it tasted too bready and drenched in oil. My friends who've dined in also said there's a lot of seating - more than they thought there'd be. But can't complain! We finally have Korean Chicken in Indy! Will definitely have it again. read more

We really enjoyed our dining experience and the food was excellent. The hostess will greet and seat you. It's very open and clean. There were four of us, so we splurged and ordered a lot of food. We had three different selections of the boneless Korean fried chicken (Golden original, Gangnam style, secret sauce) and all of our choices were delicious. The Gangnam style ended up being our favorite, with just the right amount of heat and sweet...it was perfection! The sides were delicious as well. We had the sweet potato fries (my personal favorite) , dumplings, cheesling fries, and onion rings...which all came with pickled radish on the side. We found the atmosphere to have just the right amount of background noise so other people don't hear your conversation. Big plus! We plan on going back for the kimchi fried rice...it looks soooo good. read more

Their menu focuses on chicken accompanied by a few sides. The chicken is good, fried to a crisp and seasoned well. I got the original with a side of French fries and my friend got the galbi with a side of sweet potato fries. The galbi is good, flavored well with a nice sweet and savory balance. The original is crispy but juicy with a simple salt and pepper type seasoning. The side of pickled radish is a refreshing addition. Service is friendly and quick. I got a doggy bag for my leftovers and several hours later it was still crispy. read more

I am so happy that Korean chicken has landed in Indy and we keep seeing more new businesses have opened in the past year. Although I was not feeling for fried chicken, I visited bb.q with my boyfriend. In short, food was great. Service was not. The place seemed busy. We waited about 10-15 minutes until our server came to our table. My bf ordered chicken and I ordered Rosé DdeokBokki. My food took about 15-20 minutes, but the chicken took much longer- when I looked at my watch, we had been there for over an hour and still didn't not have the chicken. I also saw people who arrived after us getting their orders. And during this time, our server never came to our table to check on us or update us. He was also not friendly at all. I liked my ddeok bokki a lot. When I was about done with my meal, fried chicken finally came. I loved the seasoning / sauce and enjoyed it very much. This place would be amazing if the service was better and quicker. read more

I was so excited when I heard this Korean fried chicken place was going to open after seeing this chain in other states! I came during opening week and was pretty impressed. We were immediately greeted and seated when we walked in, and the restaurant was really clean and spacious. They were pretty busy considering they just opened, but service was pretty quick - the chicken took about 20 minutes but everything else came out in like 5 minutes. We wanted to get the whole chicken but that was only limited to 3 flavors, so we opted for the spicy galbi and the Gangnam style wings. Wish there were more veggie options for sides, the only thing they have on the menu is coleslaw and they were out of it. So instead we got the kimchi fried rice and onion rings, and I was pleasantly surprised how good the fried rice was! It was probably my favorite thing we got. I really enjoyed the chicken too, the pieces were huge and the coating was super crispy. The spicy galbi was a little too sweet for my taste but I loved the Gangnam style. The wings get messy to eat with all the sauce so some wet wipes would be a nice touch. They have tons of flavors and I'm looking forward to trying some others next time! read more

We've been here twice--once for a to-go order and the second time dining in. During our dine-in visit, I felt misled when the server said the medium chicken wings order came with two sides. What he actually meant was that it came with two small radish sides. We ended up being charged for four additional sides--cream corn, fries, rice, and coleslaw--so just a heads-up on that. Also, note that you can only choose one chicken flavor per order. The only option for mixing flavors is the half-and-half order, where you can get half original and half spicy. Because of the miscommunication and unexpected charges, I preferred our to-go experience. read more

We walked in and it was a lot busier than before. The ambiance is nice not too upscale but a bit above a fast food restaurant. Our waiter was very polite but a bit slow at bringing us our check. We weren't in any rush so it wasn't a big deal. Now the food: The wings are HUGE! I ordered 8 and ate 2 and was full. My husband ordered 16 to take some to work and he ate 5. I loved the spicy galbi sauce. If u like spicy and Smokey try these. My husband ordered the spicy hot (not pictured) and they were just hot. The sweet potato fries and French fries (not pictured) were the ordinary fries. I really like the chicken. The original spicy is good as well but because they come out piping hot and are spicy hot it was a bit too much for me last time. But they are good. The breading on these must be like 4x because the crunch is out of this world. Definitely worth trying. I haven't tried any of the bowls yet. They could also benefit from having soda on tap. They only have cans. read more

I visited this restaurant in TX, so I was thrilled when a location opened in Indy. I took my friends there for their birthday and kept raving about how amazing this place was. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. Reasons for the low review: 1. I received the wrong order (my friend's order) even though they repeated what I had ordered before handing it to me and I was the only one at the table that had ordered it. - I only noticed after eating 2.5 wings that I had the wrong order. 2. The waiter did not offer to fix the mistake. We informed two different staff members, but they just looked at us blankly and walked away. - Mistakes happen, but understandably so, my friend wasn't keen on eating food I'd already partially eaten, especially on her birthday. :/ 3. The food was just okay. The flavor was good, but the chicken was not super crispy and it was borderline soggy due to the sauce. 4. When I ordered, I asked for the sauce on the side and they said they couldn't do that. Not sure why...? 5. The A/C seemed to be broken, making it extremely hot and humid inside. The door was wide open, and it was about 85-90 degrees outside. I understand they just opened a few months ago, but the staff seemed very undertrained. Some of the people handing the food orders to customers didn't speak English. (Which could explain the messed up order) - There was one girl refilling drinks who was more attentive than our waiter. She should be trained to be a waitress as she would be amazing. * This place has good potential, but they definitely need to focus on training their employees better and maintaining consistency across their franchises. There were several food items that were different than the one in TX. *Consistency* is key! :) ** If you haven't been, it's worth a try. The food in general is pretty good. I may have just had too high of expectations since I have been to this place in a different state. This was just based on my experience.** read more

Wait a minute. My very first bite was so crunchy and packed with flavor. Whoooooa! Breaded perfection and the inside is so juicy. Love the thickness of the breading. Even love the thoughtfulness of the to go box with a hole to prevent it from getting soggy. Ordered the spicy original to go. Can't wait to try the honey garlic, hot and spicy, and the wings of fire. They do a nice fresh fry on the chicken but I don't love the way they drench it in sauce. This made the chicken feel heavy and a bit goopy which is the complete opposite of a good korean fried chicken experience. The boneless chicken is made of dark meat which made it extra juicy but it would be helpful it this was noted on the menu as most places with "boneless" chicken usually use white meat. Kimchi fried rice was okay - wish it had more kimchi in it but it did help to cut the sweetness of the chicken. Interior was decently comfortable and on theme for a korean spot. read more

To note: I visited during their first week of opening! Ambiance: 10/10 The inside space is nice and has the feel of a sports bar or pub. It's clean, open, and they have several TVs with sports of K-pop music videos on. It would be perfect if they sold beer or soju! Service: 7/10 Some of the staff were a little unfriendly. All the workers are young and seem inexperienced. Additionally, they were over-staffed and there was a lot of workers standing around. Some workers didn't really seem to know what to do and there was a bit of chaotic energy. We also had to wait a very long time to get our wings. Our ddokboki came out within 10 mins of ordering and then we finished it and sat around. And then after 10-15 more mins of waiting our wings came out. Bathroom was also out of TP when I visited and I had to find someone to refill it. However, it was their first week so I am sure things will improve. Food: 10/10 HOW IS THE CHICKEN SO CRISPY AND JUICY??? It's sooo good. We thought the food was a bit overpriced but I feel like these wings seemed bigger and more filling than American wings? We ordered the Gangnam style flavor and it was delicious! It's not too spicy but does build up the more you eat it. read more

This is my 1st time ever trying Korean Fried Chicken. It didn't disappoint!! We ordered golden original wings, Cheesling Wings (amazing sauce!!), Galbi wings, and the hot sauce half chicken. Got the rosé del-bokki and the cheese corn! Every piece of chicken was juice inside. Usually hot wings in American restaurant the meat is kinda dry but these were all very juicy and tender. Out of all the sauce we got, the cheesling is our top favorite!! At first we thought it was some kind of cheese sauce, but inside it's like a powder with amazing cheese flavor and sweetness and other flavors I can't describe. That dry mixture melts in your mouth. It's soooo amazing. Service was nice. The waitress we had, M, was very polite. The place was spacious, clean. Definitely will go again. read more

I've been waiting for this place to open for the last 6 months, and the wait was underwhelming. I had their small, 8 piece Wings - Secret Sauce. It was fine, not spicey at all, a little sweet. Overall, it was good, but I found it like a novelty restaurant, it did not leave me wanting more. I don't think I need to try the other flavors. Unlike KFC, which I could eat that everyday until I die (which would take about a week). I ordered take-out, and the sign said it would take 30 minutes, but actually it was only 15 minutes. read more

This place is a slam dunk! Seriously, delicious! It's a new Korean fried chicken restaurant on the north/castleton side of town. I ordered original wings, soy garlic wings, sweet and original fries, and a side of white rice. The chicken was incredibly crispy in the best way! Even after I took it home it still maintained its crispy exterior! The soy garlic was the highlight of the meal! Seasoned without being salty that is a winner to me! I can't wait to try the other flavors and different items on their menu! The restaurant interior was nice, tvs hanging on both sides of the restaurant. Very new and modern. The restaurant was very busy so we waited a little bit for our food but it was worth it! Parking is right outside the doors. This place is yummy! read more

We were excited to see this much anticipated Korean chicken place was now open next to the Castleton Saraga. We tried two selections of boneless wings, spicy galbi and Gangnam style. Both had just enough heat to be interesting and were super crispy. I appreciated the side of pickled radish, since that was pretty much the only vegetable in sight. Sweet potato fries were a nice balance to the spicy entrees. Staff was enthusiastic and excited this first week of opening. They seemed to be doing a good job and were working as a team. Everything was clean and open. As we were finishing up, a small middle-aged woman came in with a box of fresh mangoes and headed straight to the back; when we asked, the servers mentioned it was the boss and she was bringing snacks for staff. Nice! We will definitely be back. read more

Bigger inside than we thought it would be. Very clean. Fun vibe. We went on a Saturday at 1:30 so there wasn't a wait but business was steady. Staff were efficient and super friendly. Great chicken place. It does cost more than other wing places but the quality of the chicken tastes much better and pieces seem bigger than a BW3. Food is always fresh and hot! Service is top tier! Restaurant is clean. Great parking.

The server is attentive but inexperienced and couldn't answer our questions so after many attempts, we simply stopped asking. The "first responder" discount excludes hospital emergency department personnel as the server explained that emergency department nurses, doctors, and paramedics aren't first responders. (Tell that to anyone who races to the hospital with an emergency please.). The Galbi wing sauce was not available (which is my favorite), but the wings we ordered were good while the other dishes did not meet the BB.Q Chicken Franchise Chain standard. The environment is loud and echos so it's hard to hear conversations and requires a louder tone. My husband and I were excited to enjoy our dinner but left disappointed. read more

We decided to attend the soft opening of bbq chicken, and I think it's very important to note that we attended the soft opening. Things will not be perfect as they have to figure things out so as me and my friends did I think everyone should give them grace. I've been patiently waiting for this restaurant to open and I personally was not disappointed. The restaurant was a bit larger than I expected, but was also super clean and the staff were very friendly. The restaurant was very busy considering it was their first day open so we figured the food might take a little longer than usual, but that did not bother us. Our server was attentive and wanted to make sure he got our order as correct as possible. I decided to get the Honey garlic wings which were actually really delicious. I absolutely loved them however my one critique is that next time instead of the wings I'd like to get boneless. I think with the boneless you get way more meat. I also got a side of fries , which were pretty plain. I wish they would've had some sort of seasoning or special add-on to them. My friend got the sweet potato fries and those were actually pretty good. Another friend of mine got the onion rings which I enjoyed but would've loved some sort of special sauce with them. I can't wait to go in a couple of weeks when the full menu is available, and the staff has more experience. Definitely recommend this place. read more

This new place is cool ambience because its super laid back casual. There is a bar at the end section inside the restaurant. All taste awesome, the golden original definitely dont taste like American KFC or Popeyes, totally different seasoning with a little kick . The secret sauce is sweet and spicy more like sweet chili with garlic. The chicken is juicy and tender! I'll come back next time to try on different flavors and may be w/ beers.
