We walked in on a Friday with a 2-for-1 deal from Priority Wine Pass. The sommelier greeted us and we chose the Tradition Tasting Experience. We first got pours of the 2022 sauvignon blanc and 2022 rose of cabernet sauvignon. The sauv blanc had notes of grass and lemon, while the rose had rhubarb, raspberry, and oak. Overall, their white/rose wines are not too impressive. However, the cabernet is a different story. The somm poured us the 2018 and 2015 on the menu as well as the 2014 as a bonus. The 2018 had pepper, nutmeg, spice, and cedar on the nose, with a medium body and blackberry and graphite on the palate. The 2014 had fig, madeira, and vanilla on the nose, with a medium body and leather and cassis on the palate. The 2015 was in between the two, with a nose more similar to the 2014 and a palate more similar to the 2018. He also got excited and poured us a 2019 cab franc from Coombsville, which was fruity, jammy, and spicy. Overall, a good experience with a knowledgeable and friendly somm. read more

Absolutely delicious, I wish I could give you the educated wine description...but, no. I am not a white wine drinker. I just tried it and then just kept trying it, it was that good. Making the experience was the outstanding Barman/Manager "Bob." Bob was stellar all evening. No one was left stranded, Bob moved around the room like a Russian Ballerina pouring liquid gold into everyone's glass. Walking into Bazan Cellars we were greeted warmly by the owner, Senora Bazan. We were given a table, chatted a bit, and began our tasting: Sauvignon Blanc - very nice; Rose - we are not Rose people but found this very agreeable; Pinot noir - was wonderful; and the best was their 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon- just outstanding ( and this was after 4 days of wine tasting! ) We would highly recommend you give Bazan Cellars a try when in downtown Napa - you won't be disappointed!! read more

My boyfriend and I came here for the Tradition tasting experience and enjoyed it very much. I used my priority wine pass to get a 2 for 1 tasting. We had come in pretty early for our reservation but they were able to accommodate us thankfully! The inside of the restaurant is cute and very simple. The walk to the bathroom in the back is a little scary, but overall a nice place. The wine tasting went really well and I enjoyed the different food items paired with the wines. Recently had a tasting at Bazan with wife and friends. The tasting guide, Bob, was dynamic and engaging. The setting was clean and businesslike. Bob took us through the tasting, talking about the history, the people and the wine. He readily modified the tasting slightly to accommodate a question which was a HUGE plus to me. We visited Bazan Cellars our first night in Napa. In fact it was the first tasting room that we went to - which was a big mistake because they really set the bar high with how amazing the staff and wine was - that no other tasting room compared. My girlfriend and I didn't have an appointment but it was a slower night and they had no problem fitting us in. I had a glass of Pinot and I believe my girlfriend had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. We sat outside under some heaters and had a great view of the river and we were able to do some people watching. Bob, who I believe must have been a manager, kept checking on us and when he found out we were there celebrating our 40th birthdays - brought us out two chocolates to pair with our wines. Bob was the best. He was so nice to talk to and also gave us some really great recommendations on where to go during our visit. Had a wonderful pre-dinner tasting at Bazan!! Our host was fantastic. All the wines were so good and it was lovely to learn more about Mario Bazan! It was fascinating to hear his journey of immigrating to the US, working in the fields in Napa, and eventually owning his own winery! I went home with a bottle of their rosé - hands down the tastiest I've ever had! His wife had a hand in creating it, and the wine has such a gorgeous ruby color, not to mention that it has such a unique flavor. All of the wines were not too sweet which was perfect for me. Just 2nd day of tasting rooms open in California.. and we HAD to do our part! We tried the Bazan Tasting Experience 5 flight tasting. And they were all delicious! We came home with a bottle of the 2012 RAMA Cabernet Sauvignon! The place was very clean, maintained 6ft distance between tables, everyone wore masks, except when tasting. Weather was a little hot and windy so to get out of it in a cool tasting room was great.
