We've been members here for 2 years. It's really an amazing place in Napa. It's still run by a family and the passion behind the wines is obvious. What makes this place different is that you can tell that they really care about making amazing wines. Many of the wines are aged in barrel for over 20 months so the value is also there. Rolando Jr. is often found in the tasting room and tells his family's story well. I've belonged to many wineries in Sonoma and Napa over the years and easily this is our favorite. This is also one of the few places that makes 100% petit Verdot which is how we found it in the first place. Tastings are done in the barrel room and is in an industrial area of Napa but it's part of the charm. Highly recommend. read more

I visited Mi Sueno Winery with a few people and an afternoon tasting. The tasting is in the barrel room so it smells amazing. It is located in an industrial area (not on a vineyard). So if you are looking for a tasting out in a vineyard this is not your place. But please don't let that stop you from checking out Mi Sueno. All of the wines we tried were top notch. We've visited dozens of wineries in the Sonoma and Napa Valleys, so feel confident when we say this place is special. There are places you visit in wine country for the views/instagram, and there are places you visit for the wine. Mi Sueño is a hidden gem for wine lovers and also an excellent introduction to anyone curious about the winemaking industry start to finish. It's a bit hard to find as it's located in a corporate office park, but walk past the office and you'll be immersed in a burgeoning industrial winery with exceptional service. Also worth mentioning, this is a rare find in that it is a Latino-owned and operated winery, one whose story is the inspiring best case scenario for the American Dream. It is a true family business with deep knowledge of every stage of the process from the terroir, to vineyard management, to winemaking. My only suggestions are that they invest in larger signage so that it's easier to find, and that they add an option to tip hosts, because the friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating service we received from Jamaal during our visit was truly exceptional. This winery is ideal for anyone who loves Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Sauvignon as they have several intriguing options for each of these varietals, as well as the occasional Syrah, Tempranillo, Petit Verdot, and inspired red blend. They've done a nice job of cordoning off a section of the warehouse into a tasting room complete with string lights, opulent furniture and cozy seating. We were very impressed with how impeccable everything was especially during this pandemic. Everyone was masked, hand sanitizer was abundant, and the restrooms were absolutely immaculate. They have tasting menus from $40, $50, and $60 and all of them were a truly good value (and tasting fees are waived with the purchase of two bottles). Mi Sueno is the very definition of a "hidden gem" in the Napa Valley. I've been a fan of this wine (and a wine club member) for years, and it feels so good to support the efforts of a Mexican-American winemaker (Rolando Herrera) who is truly living the American Dream. If you're looking for a swanky tasting room with opulent views, this isn't your place. If you're looking for some incredibly well-crafted wines at reasonable prices for their quality, you need to book an appointment ASAP. When you pull up to the makeshift tasting room, you'll undoubtedly think you're in the wrong place. Located among a nondescript warehouse building, you just have to look for the small Mi Sueno sign. Yes, this IS the right place. Inside it's literally an office. You'll be greeted with a glass of chardonnay (one of the best white wines I've ever had) and be given a brief "tour" of the offices. There's lots of cool sports memorabilia on the walls so be sure to take time to look at it all. You'll be led into the barrel room and over to a table that is also the tasting area. It's chilly in there, so bring a sweater even in the warmer months. There are two tastings offered but I highly recommend splurging for the special Reserve tasting ($40). If you join the reasonable wine club, you'll get complimentary tastings for you and three guests on your first and subsequent visits. You officially have to join the Reserve Club to get the Reserve tasting fees waived, however your mileage may vary if you make a large purchase. The standard tasting is $20 but is waived with each 2 bottle purchase. We are open for tastings Monday through Saturday by appointment only. Hospitality isn't the huge selling point here because it's all about the wines. Don't visit if you require state-of-the-art tasting rooms, beautiful views while you're tasting, or if you need to have your hand held at every second: this is a place for serious wine lovers and, without all of these distractions, you're able to focus on the wine. These wines are delicious, and I love nearly everything in their portfolio. You can taste the care and craft that goes into each vintage. While Mi Sueno has a killer Chardonnay, their focus is primarily on reds. Winemaker Rolando Herrera has a large family so don't be surprised if he or one of his children or his wife stop by to say hello. There's a real family feel to this place, and it makes you appreciate the love that goes into making great wine. read more

This was the first winery that we went to for tasting. This place at the bar for the weekend. If you like red wines they have many varieties with very robust flavors. Personally, I just started drinking red wines and I fell in love with the place. They are an exclusive winery that does not sell to market places. Where to start! Now..I know I'm not a very eloquent writer and I do not have a fancy vocabulary. So I shall say it as it is. Our friend turned wine connoisseur brought a bottle of their wine to dinner one night and I fell in love! It was really really good. Easy to drink with or without food. So when my hubbie's relatives from thailand were staying and we had to play host, why not take them wine tasting. We were able to get a tasting/tour here with Stacy and it was great! It was a little weird getting here, almost wondered if my friend was trying to take us somewhere sketchy! lol just kidding, but what a nice surprise. We met and had our first pour of chardonnay (which was so smooth and not too oaky or buttery) right in the offices, walked along to a magical place in the back of the room, where they have lovely memorabilias from super baseball stars. Then to where all it happens. You definitely smell the wine and its "intoxicating" har har Lovely tasting area amid all the barrels of wines, we tasted a pinot, syrah, and cab. LOVED IT. I never really liked syrah but this one hit all the right notes for me. The pinot was bolder than I'm used too but still good. The cab was quite spicy when you sniff but just the right boldness as you drank it. I was so content sipping between the 3. Then we got a little extra surprise when Stacy brought us a taste of the Rebecca (named after his oldest daughter, I wonder if he has a daughter named Christine ;) ), smooth like water, of course at $125 a bottle, it is something to save and savor! Such a pleasant experience! I think we found a new love! The relatives enjoyed their tasting very much! We took home a bottle of the chardonnay and syrah! Both of which we rarely drink or buy! Also of course the storyline behind Mi Sueno is absolutely humbling! We hope to taste one day when he drops in to meet him! I came to Mi Sueno with 7 friends and we enjoyed a lovely private tasting experience for a tasting fee of $20 per person which was waived if you purchased 2 bottles. Our host Elisa was so welcoming, informative, and passionate about the wine. I was inspired and touched by Rolando's hard work and determination to achieve his dreams. It was also really nice of his 2 daughters to come say hello and share their dreams with us! As others have mentioned, the tasting room is located in an unscenic corporate complex, but absolutely worth a visit. I was lucky enough to be given a bottle of their Chardonnay as a gift from a coworker, and since then, my wife and I wanted to visit this winery. Recently, for her birthday, we planned a trip to Napa with some friends. Mi Sueno was on that list and we were in touch with a guy named Jaime. Even though this winery was closed on the day we wanted to visit, Jaime agreed to come in on his day off and give us a personal tour. As I mentioned, the story alone makes you want to support this winery even more. Jaime gave us a brief story of how things got started and how they are today. He then went on to give us a "behind the scenes" look, where we eventually had our tastings. He was professional, energetic, informative, fun, and all around a great guy and host. We all left there with bottle of wine, one personally signed and given to my wife as a gift, and now we're wine club members here. Hector was incredibly knowledgable and made us all feel welcome (even though we arrived late for our tasting). We purchased a bottle of nearly every single wine we tasted - they really are that good! This was my first wine tasting in Napa. Don't be put off by the fact the tasting room is in an industrial complex. The tasting takes place in a corner of their cellar, so be sure to bring a jacket! As this is a smaller and not as well known winery, the tasting is much more intimate. I loved all the wine that was poured. The server, Simon, is very friendly. Mi Sueno isn't your typical winery. It's located in an Industrial complex in the South of Napa and your tasting is in the chilled storage area of the warehouse. Despite the unconventional setting, the private tasting that I enjoyed here was extremely well done and informative. Jaime gave us a quick tour of the facility and we settled down at a grand wooden table and the pours began. Jaime is quite the story-teller, weaving together the story of the owner and the winery with the explanation for each of the wines. We tried 11 of their wines that day, with very very generous pours of each. My favorites were their 2009 Cab and the 2011 Valeria, a petit verdot, from their reserve line, Herrera, but I was also fond of the 2009 Chardonnay (not too oaky) and 2009 Pinot Noir. I still consider myself a novice wine drinker but I can pinpoint the exact moment when I drank wine and thought to myself for the first time "Oh I could drink a lot more of this." Logistics did not allow us to arrive on time and the staff were kind enough to wait until 11 am. Nestled in a business park, there is nothing impressive about the facility as you approach or enter. it looks like any business office. Except they greet you with a delicious Chardonnay and then give you a tour of the facility out back. This is a top-notch family owned winery that does everything "in house". We first experienced Mi Sueño wines at a paired dinner in Boerne, Texas. That experience was good, but this was completely different. Here, we delved deep into Petite Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Malbec. All were excellent at the least. My bud and I joined their wine club. All the employees I have dealt with was not but extrodinary! They treat everyone that comes through that door like a top-tier client who buys cases from them. Their Syrah is OUT OF THIS WORLD! I am an avid hater of Syrahs but Mi Sueno does well in making their wines anything but ordinary. I bought 2 bottles of te Syrah because I could not relish the fact that I would be out of their Syrah if I ever decided to open one and drink it! I have tried nothing in their Herrera Seleccion that was not anything but perfect. Their Rebecca Cab and Rolando Jr Cab is amonst my favorite in their Herrera reserve. Keep in mind, you do need an appointment for a tasting and they're serious about this because they only take 1 tasting at a time so you get the pour's attention 110%. The story of Mi Sueno is a happy one that litereally exemplifies the "American Dream." From a Mexican immigrant to a dish washer to a wall builder to a wine maker. His legacy doesn't end there as his wines have been in the White House and have been poured for over 5 presidents.. To both U.S and the Mexican president! That in itself speaks volumes of the quality of the wines he creates. If you ever have a chance and you want that intimate tasting-- this is it! You will not regret it! Located at a warehouse in an industrial park in Napa, this is one of the last places you'd expect to find world class wine. Once you step in, you're greeted warmly by your host and given a tour of the facilities. The highlight is the tasting, of course. Some of my favorite wines are from the Herrera Collection, especially the Rolando Jr. cab, the Valeria petite verdot, and the Victoria malbec.
