I have to start this post by saying my mom had broken her wrist the day before and the friend that was with us needed a rest stop. I saw a sign that said wine tasting, or wine by the glass and there was a beautiful outdoor seating area. This was the absolute BEST place for us to take a rest. First, the wine we tasted was DELICIOUS! Second, but more important to me Alvaro went above and beyond to be kind to a group of ladies that really needed kindness. He took care of us and we really ended up feeling like family. I'd love to have say there was something special about us, but as we saw others come too I can honestly say he's just a great guy, selling a great product. This is a family company and I feel like I'm a part of it. Many many thanks Alvaro! If you're in downtown Napa come here and enjoy!

We came for my mom's 60th birthday. MaCo was a referral from a friend who lives in Napa. This family owned winery & vineyard is special. From the pretty ambiance and incredible service provided by Alvaro, my mom and our group were extremely satisfied. Alvaro adds a personal touch to every experience. We'll back and will keep referring.

I was visiting from Los Angeles and happened to stumble across this new wine tasting room. I had such an amazing experience here! This wine tasting was educational, fun, and unique to our party. It started with customized menus with our names, then continued with a tasting of 5 wines. We selected the "Estate Flight". I'm not much of a wine connoisseur so I'm so happy that this experience helped me enhance my pallet. I ended up purchasing two bottles of wine and am excited to enjoy them. The cherry on top was that this tasting room was so aesthetically pleasing! From the furniture, to the "una copa mas" sign, the vineyard pictures and even the color coordination of the MaCo pens... everything was so intentionally curated. Service was excellent, i'm excited to return and will be recommending to my friends and family.

The 5 flights with a personalized note.

The service and ambiance was amazing. They really paid attention to detail, and made sure our experience was one to be remembered. Have already recommended to my fitness and will be returning at the end of August.

After we finished eating, I frantically researched (read: checked Yelp) for a winery to visit. Housley seemed to fit the bill--good reviews, dog-friendly (we had her dog with us), and what seemed to be a reasonable tasting price. We get there and we realize it's owned by Tamera Mowry (who is now Mowry-Housley!) There's a picture of her and her husband (a former baseball player) in the window. We're sort-of starstruck. Shortly after, her husband (and the winery's owner) Adam walks up with their daughter and asks us how we're doing. We continue to be starstruck. Service was wonderful. Seating was comfy. The views weren't the best (we were drinking on the sidewalk and there's a parklet too.) The 5 wines for $29 was not bad, but the size of the pours was lacking. The first pour was the smallest and then slowly they seemed to give us more (maybe they heard me!) Honestly, the pricier wines tasted better. I wish our wine tasting could've been free if we bought two bottles or something--I would've done that! Cute merch and store with goodies inside. Bathroom is clean. Would be back!

Nice touches adorn the restaurant throughout. The menu has a lot of wonderful options. The service, provided by Alex, was excellent. We started with the Dungeness Crab arancini, which are probably the best thing we ate all evening, and that's saying a lot because everything we had was great. These arancini are perfectly fried crab meat rolled into a ball served over a delicious tartar sauce. I wish I had 3 orders of this, at least. We ordered the soup of the day and their bread service. The soup was a white bean and sausage and it was perfectly salty and fatty. The bread and butter was a perfect accompaniment. The Carpe Diem salad was also really special. It had these Cabernet soaked dried cranberries that were so good and tart. For an entree, we ordered the short ribs which come over a risotto. It felt a little heavy, and maybe the sauce could've used a little acid to cut the heaviness. It was still really delicious though. For dessert, we had the espresso crème brûlée. This was just the icing on the cake of a great meal. I love Carpe Diem and hope to come back soon!

Everyone having wine chose the Signature Flight, which included one white and three reds. I appreciated the option to substitute a Sauvignon Blanc for the Chardonnay, a nice personal touch. Each wine was distinctive, balanced, and delicious in its own way. You could really tell the care and craftsmanship behind every pour. What really stood out was the hospitality. Our host was not only incredibly thoughtful but impressively knowledgeable. She explained where each wine's grapes were grown, described the flavor profiles we could expect, and added insights into how the terroir influenced the wine -- all without it ever feeling too technical or over our heads. Even better, our designated driver was offered iced tea, lemonade, or an Arnold Palmer, which I really appreciated. It's always a plus when tasting rooms consider the full group's experience, not just the drinkers. The vibe was so warm and relaxing, we ended up staying for over two hours. It felt less like a stop and more like a true experience. Definitely one of the highlights of our time in downtown Napa.

Cozy seating, warm lighting, and little areas that make the whole wine tasting feel personal (Being in a large living room with different seating areas). We were greeted right away and shown to our spots without any wait. Cynthia took care of us, and she was amazing. She knew the wines, walked us through each flight with confidence, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and fun rather than "you don't know much about wine". I would absolutely come back. My one comment is that they don't offer the full House of Brown collection for tasting. I tried the Chardonnay and wanted to explore more from that line, but it just wasn't available there. That's really my only issue and that's why I would give them a 4.5/5. Check them out if you haven't already done so. It's so amazing to go to a place and then go back to work (part-time job) and have someone ask you about that specific line of wines. I was extremely excited to inform the shopper of everything I learned. He purchased everything I showed him from the line and we talked about 30 minutes. Great place to visit.

No reservation was needed, as we were the first to arrive prior to others entering. Coming off the elevator, to the right is check in. Once decided, we were seated in a beautiful window section with comfortable seating and natural lighting from the oversized window behind us. While we waited for service to begin, we browsed the book display of African American/Black literature available to explore and enjoy in house. Our beautiful Nubian hostess, with a chill vibe and infectious personality, was knowledgeable and well versed with our selections. Her vibe was not only welcoming, it was familiar and easy to connect with. Each item on the cheese plate was explained with origin and flavor profile. Each selection of our flight was provided the same background and accompanying story with flavor profile. Our experience was relaxed, at no time did we feel rushed. With the purchases of two bottles, one flight fee was waived and we went home with two bottles of the Brown Estate. On the wall is a display of House of Brown wines available for purchased from their Headquarters, a few doors to the left of Brown Downtown (as you are leaving). We ventured over and purchased a couple more bottles. The beautiful people at the headquarter location were just as friendly and welcoming. Oh and the restrooms, you have to check them out (even if you do not need to go) especially if you are from the Bay Area. The wall paper of the individual stall featured Angela Davis, Mac Dre, E 40, Too Short, Humpty, Grand Lake, Fairyland, BART, Waters, Joe Montana and more. It was pretty dope! Stop in. Enjoy! Drink up! Relax! I would definitely recommend this establishment to anyone and everyone looking for good vibes, a great experience, exceptional service and an upper echelon wine experience. We will most certainly be returning, my husband is already planning a guys outing here. Yup, it's that good!

With a wasabi and fennel infused vodka, it was too unique not to be curious about. Upon arriving and looking over the menu, SEVERAL cocktails stood out to me as intriguing to try. I started with the Wabi Sabi which was as interesting as it sounded. While I didn't pick up on fennel, you do pick up on the wasabi, but in the most subtle of ways. Think maybe lime/ginger sparkling water with just a hint of spice. Refreshing and different for sure. I also tried the Mucha Lucha w/ cilantro infused Siete Leguas Blanco, chorizo infused mezcal and cubes made of hot sauce that make the drink have a bit more of a kick as you allow them to melt. I did the HH chips and guac which was also accompanied with a tasty Chipotle sauce. Damn good actually. It'd be excellent served in a variety of ways. The deviled eggs aren't going to blow your mind, but I like that you get 4 different ones- and simply because I love eggs, I'd order them again. (They just wouldn't be a dish that brings me back).
