I stumbled upon this little park while visiting Coronado Island for the first time and I am so glad I did. It was so serene and peaceful- the perfect spot to rest if you need some peace and quiet. We went on a weekday afternoon and there was only one other person there. The views are absolutely stunning. They have a few benches to sit down, but I would say bring a small blanket to lie down on the grass next to the water. We parked right across the street in the residential area. I would assume this place gets really busy on the weekends and parking might be tough. It's super worth a visit, even if you can only stop by for a minute to take in the views! read more

This is me and my girlfriend's favorite park in San Diego County. Well, Bayview Park basically takes you into the beach and actual City of Coronado. We like to rent and ride bikes here. Or take our own bikes out here. Great place to exercise and jog here. I see families walk their pets and all. You can see Downtown San Diego from here, and the Harbor. What a gem of a little spot to capture a photo of downtown San Diego! I was running the perimeter of Coronado and about half way through my run, I noticed thieve little pocket "parks" popping up. I veered off the sidewalk and out here. I was driving my mom around Coronado and found this park on accident. It's got a gorgeous view of the city. We were the only ones there and found it really peaceful. It would be a great spot for photos or a picnic. There's not much else to do or see, it feels pretty residential so I'd imagine it doesn't get very busy. Great find! read more

Not my favorite. Parking is weak and the "transients" can be a nuisance. The view is nice and one should go for that but the amenities are not the best. Very crowded on weekends, especially if sunny. There are others in the area that are cleaner as well. City parks often have points to be desired but this one falls in the lower level and even though it is close to my work, I do not use it often. read more

this is one of the most relaxing locations I have ever been to. It is so tranquil and I feel so relaxed and so good every time I come to this location. It is definitely something that I truly appreciate. Not all the time that I go to a park location am I able to really just kind of let my hair down and relax. But this part definitely did not let me down. everything at this location is well manicured as well. All the bushes and all of the live things that they have around the area are super chill. I was hiking and I dropped my keys. Luckily because they keep everything so well manicured I was able to find my keys and bring them back home. This park is really really good read more

This is quite a lovely park on Coronado Island. Here you can see the San Diego waterfront skyline, which is awesome after dark with the lights on in Downtown San Diego. Its also a great place to view the Big Bay Boom on the 4th of July. read more

I was looking for a safe area to take long walks since I live in an area of downtown that is not walkable at all. Coronado is super close and really pretty. I haven't spent too much time there since I've lived in downtown. It reminds of the really nice parts of Pasadena and walking around there felt super peaceful and safe. There were kids on their bikes and older couples walking their dogs. There isn't much walking space in the actual park. It's only about 2k square feet or so but I walked up and down that area. It's a great spot for a picnic or reading a book. Not a walking trail. I'll have to find some trails in the area. Overall a cute little spot. read more

So glad we ran into this place while taking a bike ride on Coronado island. While this isn't exactly a huge place to let your dog or your kids run free, it's a quaint little spot with an awesome view of San Diego bay and down town, tucked right in the middle of a couple of shore front properties on the bay side. Come here with your favorite gal on a clear night or day for a nice romantic spot to take it all in. Bring a basket of snacks and drinks, throw down a blanket and have a little picnic. Beautiful, Intimate, Serene, Quiet, and yes super Relaxing. Bayview Park has it all and much, much, more. But what can be more perfect than the breathtaking view of the San Diego Skyline. And what a gorgeous view it is. Whether you come here in the daytime or nighttime, you will not be disappointed with the views to include Downtown San Diego's many landmarks, like Petco Park, the Convention Center, and Seaport Village. The park is small with only about 4 benches, but you would rather bring a blanket and a good book to read and you enjoy the sound of the ocean and the waves crashing against the shore, as you feel the breeze of the ocean. For those looking for the latest update on New Year's Eve fireworks (2018 - 2019). There were no fireworks for 2019. I saw YouTube videos from 2018 and 2017 so I assumed there would be a 2019 show. Nope. I thought crossing the Coronado Bridge and finding a spot around here looking toward downtown would be a perfect view of the fireworks; and a lot of people thought so too that night. Unfortunately, me and these lots of people started our 2019 very disappointed since there were no fireworks. read more

This is a mostly hidden little spot in Coronado that I don't even recall how I found. If you live near here it's really quite a special spot to get away from the main touristy stretch of Coronado Beach, but if you're just visiting it's also a great location to get some shots of the bay looking towards San Diego, as well as sailboats passing through the marina (and some Navy warships if you're lucky). I got some awesome photos down here, which were unfortunately lost in the camera accident that wiped out most of my first week in San Diego, along with my entire trip to Las Vegas. Fortunately I snagged a few with my Nexus for posterity. Don't come here expecting much of an actual park atmosphere...it really is just a few trees, a couple benches, and a little grassy area to lay down a blanket perhaps. But, if you've got a good book and an hour or two to relax then it's an ideal quiet location to soak in some sun. I wouldn't exactly call this a destination worth making a trip for, especially if you're an out of towner, but if you're in the area you should definitely take advantage of it. Escape from the busy streets of SD and make your way to Coronado Island! You don't have to pay toll! But you can admire the San Diego skyline from this little park. It's a great place to take pictures. Is located in a safe area. And not many people come here since there are other much bigger parks to admire the view from, so you won't be bothered! Parking is mostly free in the surrounding area, but do check to make sure that you're not in a Permit only spot! read more

This little park is the most super romantic & cute place ever! Whether you want to enjoy a temporary escape to a quiet place or spend time with your significant other, this is definitely the place to do it. This park is relatively small but the view is spectacular. There are 4 benches scattered around and a small grassy area as well and every time I've gone (at night), there's usually a bench open. This place is really accessible and there's free street parking in the residential areas. There's a sign that says the park is closed 11p-4a but I'm not sure how regulated it is. read more

I love this little park. It's on the east side of Coronado, so you see into downtown of San Diego, which is a lovely sight to see. I usually take people who come visit me here during their trip. It's a really small park and there are only 2 benches. It's right between 2 houses. There is a good amount of parking on the street, but make sure to read the signs for times to park. On your north is Naval base Coronado, so if there are any carriers in port, you are in for a treat. Also, this is a perfect place to see ships go in and out of the harbor. read more

It's a small neighborhood park with a few benches that overlooks the city's buildings and people parasailing and boating. I enjoyed my visit to this charming, cozy and relaxing park so much! My first visit was at night which offered such spectacular views of the San Diego skyline that I had to come back and see what it looked like during the daytime the following day. Our initial reason for stopping by was because our fur baby, Brownie was with us and she needed a potty break and dogs are allowed here at Bay View Park. You park along the street (obeying all posted signs naturally) and bringing a blanket is a good idea. This is a small park with 4 benches. The benches all face the water so you get a nice view of the scenery, but I'm going to bring a blanket next time and have a picnic on the grass. I liked watching the different boats go by on the water and there were plenty of good photo opportunities. read more

I love coming to the Bay View Park. This park is not too big, but it is a great park to come and sit on the benches or hangout on the beautiful tree and watch the sail boats go by. I have only been here twice and I know I will be back again. Also it is a fun place to come and take pictures with downtown San Diego in the background. This hidden tucked away park is one of Coronado's best kept secrets. Driving down the street you'll more than likely miss it if you're not paying attention. The secluded little park has an abundance of green grass, trees, and benches to walk dogs, bring babies, or snuggle next to your honey. The view from this park which goes right up to the edge of the rocks looks directly at the buildings of San Diego. The spot itself is very peaceful but closes for regular park hours, 11 PM - 5 AM to keep out the "wanderers". One of my new favorite spots in this beautiful city. read more
