Lol best swimsuit ever. Perfect for a Coronado Cays type of day.

BEAUTIFUL PARK. Out there and secluded, let's keep it that way. Coronado Cays itself is a community within a community. Ok, I'll be real a richer community within a rich community. The area reminds me of a super mini Newport Beach... houses with their own docks parking their yachts and their own yacht club. Adjoining them is the Lowes Hotel and Resort (not a cheap place to vacation either). Most people will drive by the place assuming it's only for this community. They have a normal park, lots of green spaces mostly occupied by soccer teams and soccer moms, kids playground, there are tennis courts too. I haven't played on their courts as I usually stay at my tennis clubs courts but it appears it's first come first served and often occupied by the neighborhood locals. Different SD feels here. I like it. Just away from everything. We boated out of the Coronado Cays Marina and toward SD harbor for a day out drinking, eating, and boating around the Harbor. Fun times. The Marina is much quieter than other marinas I've been too. Less packed less traffic less of everything and I just love it that way.

This Marriott offers many amenities, and informative customer service!…read more To my knowledge most if not all rooms have a good sized balcony. Our room had a roomy bathroom that included a shower and a bathtub, comfy beds with ok pillows (like any other hotel), a large TV, etc... We had a great view of the harbor as well! There is a pool, a restaurant with outdoor seating in front of the harbor, and a lawn for activities. It's really not necessary to valet here because they have their own dedicated parking garage for self-parking. The front desk is friendly and informative. It's a little challenging to figure out where to go to find your room, so listen when they explain the details!

Our group included roughly 50 athletes and about 20 staff, and during the stay we had packages delivered containing necessary items we needed. The most concerning issue was a $150 "package handling fee" added at checkout. At no point was I informed there would be any fee to receive these packages. It was not mentioned when picking them up, nor was it included on the information sheet outlining other charges. I was later told it exists somewhere online, but if a guest cannot reasonably find it during their stay, that is not transparency. There were also multiple unexpected add on charges throughout the stay. The hotel advertises microwaves as an amenity, yet they are only available as a rental for about $25 per day. This became a real issue given dietary restrictions, and we ultimately had to purchase one ourselves. Other basic conveniences, like court access, also came with added fees, creating a constant sense of being nickel and dimed. For a property that presents itself as upscale, the room conditions did not match expectations. There was visible rust on the bathroom ceiling, the refrigerator was difficult to adjust, and ants repeatedly came through poorly sealed areas in the bathroom. The refrigerators knob was so gouged out I needed to ask help to have it moved from minimal to keep my food in the safe refrigeration zone. Overall, the experience felt less like a premium stay and more like a series of hidden costs. For a company of this size and reputation, that should be concerning. If you stay here, ask about every possible fee upfront, because not everything is clearly disclosed.

I truly love this place and can't wait to go back to it. If you're ever looking to stay on Coronado Island, look no further than this wonderful place. My wife and I spent three nights at Hotel Marisol for the first time last week as an early wedding…read moreanniversary celebration, and we enjoyed it enough to consider the hotel again for a future stay. As other reviewers have commented, it is immaculately clean. Service is very friendly. And it's a low-key, boutique atmosphere conducive to those who are looking for a peaceful, historic place to stay. Check-in was very simple, and we had the option of taking the short set of stairs to our room on the third floor or the historic 1926 Otis elevator, still in operation. We took the elevator, as we had luggage, and alternately chose it and the stairs throughout our stay. Our room was well-appointed, clean, and comfortable. And when I say comfortable, I am referring mainly to the amazing bed--one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. Once I fell asleep, I was out like a light until morning each and every night, which I cannot say very often when I travel. Our room had plenty of drawers to use, a small armoire for hanging clothes (which also contains the safe and beverage cooler), and reading lamps above the nightstands on each side of the king-size bed. One chair with a high back was in the corner. Plantation shutters concealed the window, which you can open to let in fresh air because it is nicely screened. The hotel has no balconies, so it is nice to at least have a window you can open. During our stay, you could hear a lot of construction noise from renovations taking place next door as well as the noise from a lot of military aircraft landing at the military base, but none of that took place during sleeping hours. Besides, if you've ever been to Coronado before, you really get used to the military flights, which are more interesting than bothersome most of the time. We're just glad someone is defending the country. :) The bath area had a nice sink and plenty of space on the counter and underneath. The shower was roomy and modern, though the half-length glass wall did allow water to leak out quite easily, as many of these modern configurations do. We took part in the delicious continental breakfast downstairs each morning, took advantage of reading in the comfortable courtyard, and also took in the Friday night wine-down with free wine and charcuterie board. Everything was done so well, and it was nice to chat with a few other guests. Housekeeping was done daily, and two Ghirardelli chocolate squares were generously left each time. Not much to complain about. Very minor things: One morning, the breakfast was refreshed a bit more slowly than usual, but it was completely understandable because only one person was handling that and the front desk at that time. The shower head in our room wasn't working completely right and could have had a little bit better water pressure, but it was no big deal. And the reading lamps were a little loose and also extremely hot to the touch, so just be careful handling them if they've been turned on for any length of time. We never watched the TV (though I did turn it on briefly for a few seconds, and it had a great picture and sound) and never turned on the heat or air since the weather was so temperate. The Wi-Fi worked flawlessly and fast. All in all, a great stay that we truly enjoyed. We didn't qualify for any discount this time around, but the hotel's website does offer some discounts if you book ahead, so I advise you to keep an eye on that. I know that we will!

I treated myself to a spa day and had the pleasure of working with Jeanette, who was fantastic. The spa experience was relaxing, luxurious, and exactly what you'd hope for at a place like this. Of course, I couldn't leave without picking up something super cute from the shop--dangerous in the best way! We spent a lot of time at the pool, which was such a highlight. The service truly made the experience feel VIP from start to finish. Heather (yes, I'm shouting her out again because she deserves it!) was incredible--despite how busy it was, she made ordering effortless, quick, and fun with the best energy. Patrick was also wonderful on another day. You really can't go wrong with the staff here. A fun bonus for our family--my husband is a pilot, so we loved watching the planes flying by from the nearby Naval Air Station North Island. The kiddos were completely entertained and called it their own little "airshow," which was such a unique and memorable touch. We also dined at Nobu Del Coronado. Having been to other Nobu locations like Newport Beach and Chicago, it was interesting to experience this one--it's more boutique and intimate, which made it feel extra special in its own way. All in all, this trip was everything I hoped it would be and more. From the beautiful setting to the incredible staff (Heather, you're the best!), we felt taken care of every step of the way. Can't wait to come back!

It's interesting how there are so many different properties within the same hotel/resort. Every property is so different, and the shore house is definitely one of the nicer accommodations. It feels brand new, and every room is set up like an apartment. Very spacious, a small fireplaces inside and outside. Very nice bathroom with a deep soaking tub and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need, including a full-size refrigerator and dishwasher. My one gripe was that the water was not hot. Maybe it was around 100° max. It was a bit frustrating not to be able to take a fully hot shower. This is something I probably should've mentioned to the staff, but we were only there for two nights. Would recommend this property over the other options. A bit more expensive, but definitely worth it if you're going to splurge at The Del!

You pay for the location and that is about it. The main lobby was super cute. We were very excited to stay here. But it took a turn when we were shown our room. The smell was so bad you could smell it a few feet outside of our door. We would wake up in the middle of the night because the smell woke us up. It smelled like mildew & mold so bad, on top of cigarettes and hospice. I went to call to ask for a new room and our phone didn't work. I moved the side bedroom table to see if it was plugged in and it was so dirty with bugs and lint balls. I didn't touch the phone again. I called from my cell phone to see about changing our room. She told me I could come the next day and take a look at other rooms that were available, but we were only there for one more night and we had plans with friends that day. The carpet is disgusting. The couch is so dirty. There were brown stains on the sheets of our bed. Every time the cleaning crew would come in, they would open every single window to the fullest to mask the smell. There's not a restaurant here so you have to go get your food and bring it in. There were dead bugs in the utensil drawers. So we used plastic utensils, and paper plates our whole trip. Our room looked nothing like the lobby. A motel 8 would've been better. Even the pool is sad. We were going to cancel our stay and book somewhere else, but we booked through Expedia and it's a nightmare trying to get a refund through them. Otherwise, we would've left after the first day. When leaving a manager pulled me aside and said he was going to comp one day resort fee for us because of the smell. He didn't have to do that, but it was nice of him. We will never be back unless they do a serious update. So sad because the location is killer!
