We enjoyed it not being crowded at all. It was almost perfect. The only con was there were lots of prickly spiky seed pods and fire red ants in the sand. We moved the blanket but we wanted to be in the shade. We will come back when it's cooler and settle down closer to the water.

Plenty of space to throw a frisbee or let kids run around. Parking can be pricey during events, and it gets busy when there are concerts at The Rady Shell next door. We were at the back end of the park with great views of the Rady Shell and Coronado bridge. The views are great from anywhere in the park, really. The marina at the convention center with all the yachts, Navy ships, recreational boaters and people zipping about on personal watercraft. The location is perfect for a car show. Embarcadero Marina North is a great venue for anything, really. From a stroll in the park, to a picnic or wedding. A San Diego gem.

I love that there is a small space for folks to enjoy with families and dogs. After all, this is the only common area nearby. On a given day, you see dogs running and people throwing balls or frisbees. Plumosa Park is not a major attraction. Don't do out of your way to find it. But, if you live in the area, take a walk around it. Go with your dog. The neighborhood is beautiful, and there are houses with well manicured lawns and incredible architecture surrounding the park. I occasionally see community events take place in Plumosa Park. Once, there was a family movie night. There was a large movie screen, and people were sharing popcorn and pizza. If there were more events like that, I would join. It seems like the type of place that should have some more community events during the summertime. During the pandemic, most of the predominant parks were closed in the beginning, but Plumosa was not. It was nice to have an open outdoor space. For now, it is a simple park.. a green space for neighbors to enjoy.

We lived in…read morethe area for a number of years and occasionally allowed our 10-pound dog to play ball, off-leash. All it took was one instance where we were cited a violation and ticked. The animal control officer had major attitude and could see our dog's record was squeaky clean. LAME! Granted it's an on-leash patch of grass but when you're by yourself and there's no one else there, who are you hurting? Needless to say, we never went back.

In my opinion, it has one of the most beautiful views of the San Diego skyline. On a clear day, it is just gorgeous both day and night. There are sidewalks on both sides. Parking can be tricky on busy weekends. There is free street parking and there are free lots, but it is much easier during the week or off-season. Normally, you see fishermen, joggers, and people walking their dogs. There are restaurants, hotel resorts, and conference and event venues. Some of San Diego's best known restaurants are on the edges of Harbor Island Park. You can find some lesser known cafes hidden nearby. There are also some boating clubs along the way. For several years, my husband and I would make a picnic at this park and watch the Fourth of July fireworks. It is one of the best venues, if not the best, to watch the fireworks. I often go for runs or walking with my dog there. Also, it is one of my favorite places to take out-of-town friends to simply check out the view and sit on a bench for conversation. Public bathroom facilities are limited, possibly non-existent, so plan accordingly. All in all, Harbor Island Park is a must for both locals and visitors.

Our 1st Annual Family Summer Event at Fiesta Island in San Diego, CA was a success!!…read more We had the perfect weather the kids and doggies enjoyed swimming in the warm water. The adults enjoyed kayaking and paddle boarding. We could see large fish jumping! It was cool to see. We got to Fiesta Island at 7:30am on a Saturday. It was already getting busy. We were able to secure a large enough space for a family of 65 people. We stayed until 9:30pm and could see the SeaWorld fireworks and drones show from there. It was so awesome!! If you haven't been to Fiesta Island, I recommend stopping when in the area. Happy Yelping :)

There's scattered porta potties and fire pits, as well as some trash cans. But for the most part you are on your own. So bring everything you need. On part of the island it's a no wake zone so there's lots of calm sections. On the other there's boats and jet skis allowed, so it's choppier. Pick your side for what you want! Overall it's not the nicest part of the bay, it's more dirt and oil grime then sand. BUT the drive up and personal space is hard to beat.

One of my absolute favorite gardens in the Park is the Inez Grant Parker Memorial Rose Garden. Currently, it is in brilliant full bloom with 1,700 rose varieties, including floribunda, climber & hybrid tea, all showing off their most beautiful selves and the fragrance is just divine. This garden is cared for by a team of dedicated volunteers and it is a testament to their expertise and skill that this garden looks as spectacular as it does. When visiting, please do not cut or shake the rose bushes. Please enjoy the beautiful flowers in the garden, and take as many photos as you wish. This is a San Diego treasure for all of us, so please treat it with respect & care. I usually park in one of the free museum parking lots and then walk over. Plenty of parking, but arrive early for the best selection and to avoid crowds. There are also a handful of paid parking spots on the street in front of the garden. Mahalo & enjoy!

My favorite are sugar moon, and white licorice and Julia Child. But there are so many more so come and figure out which ones are your favorite roses before the bloom dies down. Apparently, the city council has heard the protest of the people in San Diego. Residents Have free parking now. Boy is that a fiasco and a disaster. It has really impacted the park in such a negative way and really hurt all the establishments here. That was a big F minus city council.

A great park on Coronado Island!!…read more This park is one big circle, yes a traffic circle around this park in a very nice neighborhood. The military presence here is huge, and this park also has military references such as flags and plaques. They have benches around the outer edges of the park, they really keep up the green grass, and it's only a block from the beach. A great find in this area!!!
