The best way to experience San Diego... from afar! Kind of joking but kind of serious... San Diego has taken a downturn in the last handful of years and it's no longer as clean/safe/lively as it once was. So taking it in from across the water in Coronado.. perfect! The park is a lovely way to enjoy Coronado -- away from the hype of the Del and away from the typical beach. I was able to witness a beautiful proposal in the park, and also saw lots of folks just enjoying a picnic, a photo sesh, a wander about, etc. The park is nestled near a small beach and also the buzz of the ferry landing with its restaurants and tourist shops. The park offers beautiful views of the San Diego skyline. Highly recommend a walk through if you're visiting Coronado. 2024: 45/100 read more

Visited during our recent trip to San Diego. Easy drive over the Coronado Bridge from downtown. Offers some lovely views of the bridge and downtown San Diego. Lot of street parking in the area...we were able to get a spot closeby along Orange Avenue. There is also a free lot nearby at First Street and D Avenue...a few minute walk away. Centennial Park is located in Coronado Island in San Diego, CA. What a BEAUTY!!! My manfriend and I went to Coronado Island in mid-April for some dessert! Gelato Paradiso - to be exact! This is such a nice park with stunning views of San Diego. I came on a Saturday night and spent so much time just taking in the view. Because it is right by the water, you can hear the sound of the gentle waves but overall, it makes the vibe here really peaceful. There are also a few stores and restaurants located by the park in case you wanted to shop or grab a bite to eat. I would say this is a must stop in San Diego! read more

This is the perfect place to come when you need some quiet time or want to see the San Diego skyline. By far the best place on the island to just take it all in. Easy to get to, locates at the end of Orange Avenue, with plenty of street parking nearby. The Coronado shuttle runs end to end of Orange Ave every 15 minutes and is free. Many places nearby this park to grab a bite to eat or get a drink. What I like best about this park is that there is nothing to do. No shops, no people selling trinkets, no snacks, no nothing. It's perfect! You can actually enjoy nature and just listen to the wind and enjoy the well maintained landscape. Beautiful flowers all around. Benches and private areas to sit and relax or have a quiet moment with a date. This is THE place to come when you are on Coronado. No better views of SanDiego. I love this little stretch of park located at the end of Orange Street in Coronado with its breathtaking view of Downtown San Diego. Yes, it's not large, but if you come here for the vistas and to relax, well you made a great choice. A well maintained sidewalk leads right down to the San Diego Harbor where you are greeted by some comfortable park benches. The garden is full of blooming roses, ancient Cycads in the form of Sago Palms, and weathered wooden benches. I can see how some would use the parks edge facing the harbor and the San Diego City as a place to tie the knot. In the end, I learned something new. I learned that Coronado Island was the birth place of Naval Aviation, by a plaque on a stone in the park, and I learned if you want or need a great view of the San Diego skyline, this is the place to get it. The view alone is worth the five stars. read more

A visit to Coronado in San Diego just isn't complete without a visit to Centennial Park. ... the secret is that your visit doesn't really need to be all that complete. Centennial Park has nice views of downtown SD; and if you happen to be in the area, feel free to add this stop to your bike ride. This park is at the tail end of the row of restaurants and bars on Coronado Island. It's a small park between apartment buildings. It has small grassy hills and seating areas were you can enjoy the day, or late evening. The end of the park has a spectacular view of the San Diego skyline. It makes for a great photo, if you're into photography like me. This is the place to come to for 4th of July fireworks. They have an amazing show here, but it gets crowded fast. So come early. Also, I recommend either spending the night in the area, or leaving as soon as the fireworks are done. This is because it gets gridlocked fast, and getting over the bridge toward mainland SD will take you about 2 hours or more. read more

Surreal paradise! The prettiest place to visit if you're a tourist in San Diego. From the beautiful homes, the retro streets of downtown, and the famous Coronado Hotel to the gorgeous view of downtown SD from the other side of the Coronado Bridge- this "island" is a secret treasure. The park is so scenic with an unreal view of San Diego Harbor, perfect for night strolls and sunrise photoshoots. The Coronado Bridge from the island looks so picturesque from afar! I still remember doing my grad photoshoot here and was literally distracted by the beauty around me-still get compliments on my grad shoot to this day as people are in awe of how picturesque the park looks Coming here during the week of July 4th is great as you'll see some of the most fantastic fireworks ever! It's nice that the park is a short walk from the Pier and a ton of cute eateries, shops, and nice restaurants. At night, you can find people fishing on the actual Pier! This is one of my favorite spots in SD as I made sure everyone of my friends/family who visited the city witnessed it! The best time of the year to come here is on dreamy summer nights when you can lay on the grass in the park and gaze at stars while watching the ferry go by. read more

Without a doubt, "The Best View of Downtown San Diego". I've been to many spots around Coronado, San Diego, Shelter Island etc and I cannot find a better place to get a photo of Downtown San Diego. All of the angles are just right from this point. The parking can get a bit heavy on the street but Centennial Park can easily be accessed by a nice walkway leading to Coronado Ferry Landing Marketplace. I love this walk at night. In fact, I went jogging here last night from Centennial Park to the base of Coronado Bridge @ Tidelands Park just before taking one of my best cityspace photos. I give this place 5 stars for location, location, location =) read more

A perfect view of the city of San Diego! Definitely a must see for a visitor or a local. We spent some time doing holiday photos here (which everyone seemed to have the same idea) and the day was perfect and the panoramic views of the city were spectacular. A great place for pictures, relax on the beach, have a picnic, or bike around...If you can make it across the Coronado Bridge...this is one place worth stopping to take in the view! Centennial Park is the best if you're looking for a nice view, park and extra space to walk around and enjoy the scenery. My wife and I like to take our daughter here and let her crawl around on the grass. It has a great view of the Coronado Bridge and the downtown area. There's a lot of different events here on the weekend. This Saturday, there was a crossfit course, a photography class, softball games and soccer match. The best part is that there's plenty of room for everybody. read more

A very nice little park tucked away just along the edge of the bay on Coronado Island. The park has one of the best views of the San Diego nighttime skyline and is very easy to get to. Along with the city trolley, or just driving, visitors can also take a ferry across the bay which docks at the park. My kids and I stopped in to see what we could get for desert as there are several small restaurants and cafes all clustered together within walking distance from the ferry dock, but afterwards we decided to go walking around the area to work off some calories. Our best surprise of the evening was finding an art gallery that had a showing of Dr. Seuss art work on display. This park is a great afternoon stop over for lunch or even a picnic, but I think at night it takes on a magical appearance and is well worth the stop. read more

We have visited San Diego many times before & Coronado island. We have never been to this park. We came at night. The San Diego skyline views are beautiful! An amazing perspective. It's like being in New Jersey and looking across the river at Manhattan! We walked on the water front to the pier. If it wasn't for yelp, I wouldn't have known that this has a name! This park is connected to the ferry landing and has breathtaking views of San Diego Skyline-- consisting of the USS midway, convention center, and many more! From this view, expect to see a lot of yachts and maybe a ship! Highly recommended to hang out, take pics, or on a date. Take a stroll! The park is so clean too. The air is great. The park is nearby beautiful apartments/condos/ vacation homes or whatever you call them, haha. People bike around here. The tourists wont bother you much. There are also many nearby places to eat. From here, grab a beer at the Little Club or have a pizza at Village Pizzeria! I like that there is so much to do within walking distance. I like taking people here for a stroll especially if they are new in town. I find myself coming back here all the time. read more

Centennial Park offers probably the best view of downtown San Diego in the city. Reachable via the ferry from downtown or the bridge to the island, this spot is nice to sit and relax and watch the city. Beyond the skyline, the Midway and marina are visible. The boat traffic is also nice to watch. The park is fairly small, but makes up for it with views. read more

Went to this park for a sunrise .. It was a cloudy day but the view of the city was absolutely breath taking. There were a lot of people there setting up to fish bright and early. holy smokes, seriously the best place to witness downtown san diego's skyline. i've been meaning to snap some photos of downtown san diego so made a quick trip to centennial park to see the view for myself. absolutely amazing on a clear day. not sure if there's a parking lot designated for the park, but i was able to find street parking fine! definitely worth a quick visit next time you're in san diego :) i bet the sunset would be pretty amazing as well. read more

I had my wedding ceremony here in January 2016. The park provides an absolutely breathtaking view of the downtown skyline that can't be beat! Coordinating with the park office was pretty easy and straightforward - and it's very affordable! The only downside is that there are a lot of rules for having an event at the park, so make sure you know those well in advance of booking your event in case there is a problem. This is a BEAUTIFUL park where you can see the downtown SD from Coronado Island. I went around sunset on a Sunday and there were two wedding parties - one actually had a wedding there on the sandy part of the beach and another was just coming for a reception. Many people running, biking, walking, sitting - very peaceful place. I highly recommend hanging out here for 30-45 min, esp. at sunset. read more
