The staff has been consistent and responsive - well beyond most Dr. Offices. Previously, I had cervical fusion/decompression surgery and lumbar decompression at UCSF. Every day I wish with all my heart that I'd gone with Dr. Su for those. It's hard not to blame myself because I'm convinced if I'd gone with Dr Su initially I wouldn't be left with cervical chronic pain. Dr Su's approach is to do the most minimal surgery because you can always do more, but can't correct surgery that shouldn't have happened. In my case, this lumbar fusion and reconstruction Dr Su did on November was to correct the first aggressive lumbar decompression at UCSF. I'm now 6 weeks post surgery and feel like I'm getting my life back! Nerve recovery has been difficult and painful, and the staff has been incredible at addressing it. For the first time I feel like I'm part of a team working to heal me. Shout out to PA's Connor and Julie, and Anna and Bruno for back office support. One more thing to consider...the practice consists of several high quality doctors that offer supporting procedures adjacent to surgery.

Review for Dr. Naidu and Dr. Su…read more Apologies for the delay in writing this review--but my gratitude has only grown with time. Thank you, Dr. Naidu, for truly changing my life. One of the things I appreciated most was how honest and transparent both you and Dr. Su were with my prognosis. Your directness allowed me to make informed decisions without false hope, while still feeling heard and respected. You didn't just prescribe a path--you listened to my concerns and worked with my choices. The main reason I chose to fly from Los Angeles--despite the costly flights and hotel stays--was because you believe in starting with conservative care before jumping to surgery. That meant everything to me. Although Dr. Su thought my lower back MRI showed serious issues, he still agreed to try epidural injections first. Thankfully, I only needed two. Those injections gave me my life back. Before meeting you both, I had been off work for six months. Every provider I saw in L.A. pushed for surgery. As a nurse, I've seen patients come back years later with even more pain after surgery. I know surgical techniques have evolved, but I wasn't ready to take that step without a team I could trust--and I trust you both. Just three weeks after my first injection, I returned to work. I'm on my feet 12 hours a day, and I was finally able to do it again. Thank you--truly. My husband got his wife back. My kids got their mother back. Before treatment, I looked and felt ten years older. Now, I feel like myself again. I had been managing well with just Tylenol and ibuprofen for the occasional mild pain. But I made the mistake of seeing a chiropractor recently, and everything changed. My MD ordered a new MRI, and now both my neck and lower back are flaring up again. So--my next visit with you is already booked for August, flights and hotel included. I'm hopeful once again. Lastly, Dr. Naidu--thank you for fitting me in on my first consultation. When I look back, we laugh now about how I begged you to give me that first injection right away. You told me to be there at 8 a.m. because you had a small gap in your schedule--but what you didn't know is that I was already parked outside your building by 7 a.m. I wasn't going to miss that appointment. Best decision I ever made. THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! Dr. Su--I'll never forget when you looked at my MRI and said, "Oh no... your back is messed up. The epidural won't give much benefit." You had such a straight face that I thought to myself, Oh no... if he can't help me, I'm in deep sh--. But despite that, you still advocated for me. You spoke to Dr. Naidu, and he gave me a life-changing injection. THANK YOU. Just two injections--and I've been doing well ever since! Please, don't give me that look again when you see my MRI this time. Words alone can't express how grateful I am. Thank you.

I couldn't stand long enough to cook a meal. Dr. Gussous looked at my MRI and CT scans and projected great confidence that a surgery would help me and I just decided to put myself in his hands. Best decision ever. Three months out and I can walk indefinitely with no discomfort. Just after the surgery, when I was recovering in the hospital, I was having some issues with my blood pressure dropping precipitously whenever I stood up. Dr. Gussous came personally to my bedside and spent about 40 minutes observing what was happening, having me stand and sit, having me walk a short distance in the hallway until he was satisfied that he understood what was going on. An amazing level of personal attention. Even the nurses were surprised. He also arranged for a week in acute rehab where I got a ton of support and instruction to see me through the rest of the recovery at home. I have done a lot of research about this procedure, including lurking around on Facebook groups where people share information about their experiences with this type of surgery. So I know that not everyone has as wonderful an outcome as I have had. I can only feel thankful to Dr. Gussous for performing an excellent surgery on me.

**Yelp Review for San Jose Neurospine**…read more I can't say enough good things about my experience at San Jose Neurospine! From the very beginning, I was met with exceptional support and guidance from Brandy. She answered every question I had and provided clear, concise details about the entire process. Her patience and thoroughness made a potentially overwhelming situation feel manageable and reassuring. When I met Dr. O, I immediately felt confident in his expertise. He has a no-nonsense approach, which I appreciated, but what impressed me most was his commitment to ensuring there were no underlying issues causing my pain. Instead of rushing into surgery, he took the time to explore all avenues, which spoke volumes about his professionalism and care for his patients. As I went through the process of getting X-rays, epidurals, and cortisone shots, I kept hearing about Dr. O's excellent reputation which was additionally reassuring. The surgery itself went incredibly well, and my recovery has exceeded all my expectations. I am now pain-free and back to my normal activities. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. O (Onibokun) especially if you're considering a minimally invasive microdiscectomy. His skill and dedication are truly exceptional! THANK YOU DR O!!!

Dr. Onibokun and his team reached out and arranged an in-person follow-up appointment to address everything I had questions about. They were patient, thorough, and took the time to go through my imaging and treatment options in detail. All of my questions and concerns were addressed -- something I had felt was missing from the initial phone consultation. The willingness to follow up and ensure I felt heard as a patient made a meaningful difference. Chronic pain is a complex journey and finding a physician who is willing to engage thoughtfully and take concerns seriously matters enormously. I appreciate the effort the clinic made to make that happen. Updating my rating to reflect this experience.

I'm writing this review about a year after I met with Dr. Kim…read more I'm 30 years old and have been struggling with chronic lumbar pain for two years at that point. I do my research, and she also came recommended by a friend; so I was really looking forward to getting some valuable insights and hopefully solutions. Unfortunately, I left her office crying out of hopelessness. Since then, I have met with three other doctors who unlike her, gave me hope, provided actual solutions and recommendations to ease or eliminate my pain. Dr. Kim not only made me feel like a serious inconvenience to her day during our appointment; but she was also short, had terrible bed-side manner, got irritated and condescending when I asked questions, and provided really stupid solutions. As an example, she told me I should stop working out if I feel pain afterwards, eat my meals standing up since "sitting is America's downfall", or just fuse my spine if I was worried about further degeneration in my disc. I was devastated, vulnerable and didn't think to question how dire she made my situation sound since she came so well reviewed. THANK GOD I got other opinions. She might be the worst doctor I've ever seen. Could very well have been an 'off day' for her.. but it made a really huge impact on my morale, emotional and physical wellbeing for months thereafter. Did I mention I found out today from a different doctor that I'M MISSING A VERTEBRAE? Baastrupp disease. How could she have missed that, or thought it irrelevant to mention.. is beyond me. Never again.

Her PA Brianna is excellent. Had it not been for a sports medicine orthopedist at UCSF (Dr Sara Edwards) alerting me that I needed to see a spine surgeon asap and worry about my knees another day and my seeing Dr Kim- I likely would have been injured further. Dr Kim prioritized laminectomy surgery and now I am improving after 5 weeks. I was injured 1 1/2 years ago with two issues impacting my nerves. The wonderful neurologist at UCSF - Dr Paul Sampognaro- helped solve one issue but the second one remained a mystery that UCSF Spine ortho could not solve. Thanks to Dr Kim for solving the mystery.
